Kesar is in his room and has flashbacks to Gulaal's crying and words about her being tired of making decisions on everyone else's behalf. Kesar is in a huge turmoil, with tears running down his cheeks, and his feeling very suffocated and bursting with emotion and frustration, pacing around. He picks up her photo on his desk and imagines her in the frame crying and telling him that she swears on Vasant that if Kesar wants she will get out of his life. Kesar throws the photo in anger. Sudha comes there and picks up Gulaal's photo from the floor. She asks Kesar what happened, is he scared before marriage, it is natural. She tells him that she too is scared that Talli would go far away from her, but now she is getting married in the same house. When she did not have a reason to live, Talli came in her life and 10 years have gone by since, she is grown up now, she is getting married tomorrow. She continues that Talli irritates Kesar sometimes, but she is young so Kesar should not mind. Kesar hears this and feels very bad, crying. Sudha tells him that Talli has a good heart and loves Kesar a lot, she asks Kesar to take care of her and keep her happy. She tells him that she knows he will take care of her, and leaves. Kesar looks at Sudha guiltily.
The next morning Paan Baa brings Kesar's wedding clothes and asks him to get ready. (Kesar is crying but she doesn't do or say anything). She asks Kesar if he is happy with the marriage, he asks why does she think he is not happy, she says that as his mother she worries in general. She tells Kesar that he should not marry with any doubts in his mind, he should not do this under pressure, it is a matter of his entire life, she knows that he listens to Gulaal, but... on hearing this Kesar's expression hardens and he looks at her and tells her that he wants to get ready, she should leave. Hearing Gulaal's name he goes into his shell.
Kesar is looking for Talli when Gulaal comes there. Kesar tells her that he wants to say something important to Talli. Gulaal gives Kesar her promise saying that after marriage he will not do anything to Talli, then she gives him Vasant's promise. Kesar tries to explain probably that he doesn't want to marry, Jamna comes there and asks if he wants to get married or not, the priest is waiting, and takes him away.
Sudha starts the ceremony, Kesar keeps looking at Gulaal periodically. The priest starts the wedding process. Talli comes downstairs, Paan Baa sends Gulaal to bring her. Kesar looks confused as to what to do now. When Gulaal brings Talli to sit next to Kesar, Kesar cannot take his eyes off Gulaal for a single second. His eyes are on her constantly, and nobody around him notices it except Jamna, she knows something strange is going on with Kesar, its as if she is excited to see the drama unfold. Gulaal sits near Talli, Kesar's eyes follow her, Talli looks up and sees Kesar, it seems that Kesar looks at Talli and feels bad, but he is looking at Gulaal the entire time, Gulaal sees this and is unable to meet his eyes and looks away. Mota Bha looks really unhappy with this whole situation.
Kesar and Talli get up to put the garlands of flowers around each other. Gulaal is standing behind Talli, Kesar keeps looking at her lost and confused, hesitating. Talli's friend jokes and tells Talli to hurry up or Kesar will run away, Kesar's friend tells him to think again, once he marries there will be no way out. Kesar ponders over these words and looks back at Gulaal. Talli puts the garland around his neck. Talli's eyes are shyly cast downwards so she doesn't notice Kesar staring at Gulaal all the time. Gulaal smiles and claps, everyone claps happily except Mota Bha who has a sullen look, and Kesar who looks dazed, confused and intense. Kesar puts the garland around Talli and keeps looking at Gulaal. Gulaal fake smiles and claps, but the smile is not as bright as it was when Talli garlanded Kesar, and it seems as though Gulaal has lost something or her heart is saying something else.
Reva comes and Paan Baa expresses happiness that Poonam Baa sent her. Reva tells her that Poonam didn't send her, she came on her own. (Oh no, with Poonam was there, she would be so happy to see Kesar's stance at the end. But I understand why she stayed away. If I were Gulaal's mother, I would get the whole village to raise a hue and cry over the marriage). Paan Baa feels bad and tells Reva that she should not have done this, as it is Poonam is very angry with them. Dushyant supports Reva. Yogesh did not allow Rohan to come. Gulaal is happy to see Reva and asks her how Poonam is, Reva tells her that she is annoyed and worried.
The priest asks Raman to do kanyadaan (a process of handing over the daughter to the husband). Raman refuses and says that Talli's father has to do kanyadaan. Gulaal and Reva are shocked, Sudha tries to object when Jamna supports Raman and says that Talli has grown up in this house so Mota Bha should do kanyadaan. Mota Bha tries to get up angrily when the priest says that Mota Bha is the groom's father and cannot do it, Mota Bha looks like he dodged a bullet there. Sudha says fine she will do kanyadaan. Talli's well wishers are happy, the rest don't like it.
Kesar has a dazed expression on his face as if he is just going through the motions. Gulaal observes this and flashbacks to his harsh words about reason for marrying Talli. (What I don't get it that how can Gulaal not think about Kesar's life, that she is ruining his life, why is she more worried about Talli. Clearly marriage is nothing but a big joke for her). Gulaal has to tie a knot between Talli and Kesar's scarf, while doing so Kesar glares at her and Gulaal notices but doesn't meet his eyes.
The priest asks the couple to get up for circles around the fire. Talli gets up, Kesar sits there lost in thought. Paan Baa nudges him and asks him to start the circling. Kesar gets up and the entire time keeps looking at Gulaal even while circling around the fire, as if he is doing it with her and Talli is non-existent. Kesar starts circling, the priest says that the first circle is for dharma, meaning he always has to keep his wife by his side. Kesar flashbacks to his childhood where Gulaal tells him that the two are each others "kavach" (not sure what that means) and will always protect each other, kid Kesar responds that yes he is her kavach. Kesar keeps looking at Gulaal and she is uncomfortable, as if she wants to shrink away from there.
The second circle means a wife is Laxmi (wealth), he will always respect her. He flashbacks to when Gulaal was unwell and he asks her whether she didn't hear him, to quietly rest, and puts his finger on her lips to keep her from talking. The third circle is for him to always keep his wife happy. Then a girl calls Gulaal to the side, and Kesar starts looking for her impatiently wondering where she is, he needs to see her at all times! The first three circles had Talli in the front and Kesar behind. Now the priest asks Kesar to be in the front and Talli behind.
The fourth circle is for freedom, he has to promise that for life till death they will support each other, and will always be faithful to each other. Kesar hears this and is stunned as if he realized that this whole process is a big lie. He flashbacks to when Gulaal fasted for him during vad savitri. Kesar hesitates, Talli and Sudha look at him confused because of his hesitation. The priest asks him to go forward, one should not stop during the circles. Gulaal sees this worried. Gulaal comes next to Kesar and tells him never to break Vasant's promise, she pleads with him. I think Talli hears this because she looks shocked at him, Kesar is between Gulaal and Talli. Kesar asks Gulaal not to worry, he will never break Vasant's promise, he promises her, after marriage he will not cause Talli any pain. Gulaal's relief is in her tears and she smiles.
Paan Baa tells Kesar to proceed, this is the last circle. Kesar says no, he cannot give this last promise. All the men near Mota Bha including him get up in shock, Talli and Gulaal look at him horrified. Gulaal goes next to Kesar and asks him why is he saying such things, Mota Bha asks if he knows what he is saying. Kesar asks Mota Bha how can he promise to stay faithful to Talli for the rest of his life, he will have to then stay faithful to his first wife, his first marriage took place a long time ago, and everyone knows that his wife is Gulaal. Gulaal looks shocked at hearing this. Kesar continues that by ritual, he has to remain faithful to Gulaal. Everyone is shocked, Talli is hurt.
Precap: Kesar asks Gulaal, in front of the whole mandap (people who have come to attend the ceremony). He asks Gulaal to put herself in his place and think whether it would be so easy for him to forget that she is his wife, is it so easy for him to forget the deeyarvattu. Jamna smiles wickedly. He tells Gulaal that he was very little when she bound him to this relationship, he has grown up with the feeling that she is his wife. (Cannot wait for tomorrow's episode!! Kesar talks so nicely to Gulaal. Finally Talli, Sudha, and Gulaal have gotten a fine dose of reality).
