What was Kesar so involved in that he did not hear the women is quite surprising. Kesar did not feel too happy when his ignorance was brought to light by Dushyant. And why on earth was that Talli grinning 'Ram jaane!!. Kesar is really being pushed to the threshold of his patience by Talli. How does he even put up with her for so long? She was really annoying him by addressing him Maalik. She has clearly been subject to his fury many times before. And still??

And what was that when she screamed out "Baap re!!!", I was wondering'.Baap re!! what has put her life at stake. Kesar was bewildered seeing that she screamed out for no reason but in admiration of the Chunar. I can still understand Gulaal's situation when she was pushed to marry Kesar. A generation next, a decade later, Talli is living in the fantasy world. I am confused whether Talli's character was planned to irritate viewers or to find sympathy with viewers. Just not clear with that. If it is the first one, she is doing a good job, if it's otherwise; she has lots to improve though I found her better in those emotional scenes.

Just last night, the room was so tidy. But the way it was shown, seemed like someone has deliberately messed it.

This was such a powerful scene between Kesar and Gulaal. Once more, Kesar snatches it from her in time. He was too shocked to see her with the letter that he has guarded secretly for so long. When Gulaal insists that the letter belongs to her since it's addressed to her and also demands it from him with "De', Kesar refuses with a firm Nahi". Btw, why would a letter not posted have a postal stamp??

Kesar tried in vain to distract her thoughts asking her "What's for dinner". But Gulaal was persistent. Kesar was absolutely worried till he secured the letter away from her and we could still see that tension in his body language where he was rubbing his hands against his pocket to be double sure it's safe enough. Kesar could not quickly come up with a reasoning that his tone was really low when he starts with a hushed "Woh" but then gathered courage to tell her that he had forgotten to post the letter. A lame excuse which both knew and we could see the continued worry in Kesar's eyes when he asked her how she knew it was an old letter. I think he was worried if she did partly read the letter. I felt sad when Kesar dismissed it saying that the content was just a birthday wish and irrelevant things because we know how much of truth it beholds. The way Kesar just closed his eyes to absorb the blatant lies that he had uttered was just superb.

Gulaal's one question '."Bahut gussa tha mujhpe Kesar?" What a question to ask? If not why would a child who loved her the most would refuse to meet her for 10 long years. And that led to unleash of the pent up emotions. That dialogue was beautifully uttered. The pause with the nod of the head after "Dus saal", and continuation saying "dus saal tak, tu ne mujhe apne se door rakha Gulaal". The scene and the performance had so much intensity. That one statement said it all and I must say his eyes clearly reflected the ten long years of pain, hurt, longingness, the lost out moments with her, of separation, loneliness and everything that had been bottled up within him. And it could be felt when we could see Kesar almost having a lump in his throat, was unable to say anything further, tears welled up in his eyes and fearing that his vulnerable self would come out more shockingly in the open, in front of Gulaal, he just walked out of the room to compose himself. That left Gulaal in an utter state of shock and disbelief. I feel this one incident of how he reacted is enough for Gulaal to know that Kesar's feelings for her runs deep, much more than she could ever imagine. Gulaal could only see a glimpse of all his hidden emotions. I have no words to say how beautiful this scene was. Beautiful rendition by Neil and Manasi has complimented well in this scene.

I don't think Gulaal would need any more proof to Kesar's feelings when he would give her the Chunar tomorrow. Now the million dollar question, will she take it? Will she tell Talli or will she hand it over to Talli? If Gulaal doesn't tell Talli, eventually she would chew out Kesar's brain before he tells her flat on her face that he has given to Gulaal. How will she take it? Will she ask Gulaal, if so what will Gulaal say? Now Gulaal can't deny the truth. If she gives it To Talli, obviously Talli would go back to Kesar to ask why he did not give her directly. Now the possibility is Gulaal telling lies that Kesar is not able to bring himself to give it to you, so has asked me to give you. Will that help her in the long run? Confusing right? Let's wait for tomorrow.

Neil excelled in the emotional scene. Kesar's deep lying feelings are just being out in the open. Gulaal was for once left totally shocked and it was obvious when she was lost in thoughts when she was with Sudha.
What a great scene. Neil's eyes portrayed the pain and agony so very well. That one sentence from him spoken in the most perfect way after which his eyes said it all. There was no need of any more dialogue for Neil to show the hurt within Kesar.
We are so pampered seeing Neil emote onscreen. It is beyond words.

Kesar's hastened steps as he climbed up the steps full of anticipation slowed down the minute he finds Gulaal on the terrace. After the previous night's disclosure of Kesar's feelings to her, there seemed a strange unease when they met each other at a distance. But both of them smiled. Kesar said softly that he looked out for her. When she asked if he had any work to be attended to, he says' Yes, No and then again Yes. Gets Gulaal confused for a while but Kesar initially hesitant just comes out straight about his arrival and gives her the gift he had brought for her. When he mentioned he had brought something for her, Gulaal had a brief smile on her face which quickly faded when she sees the Chunar. I had to put up with the flashback of Talli all over again. I literally closed my eyes to the flashback and waited for it to be over soon.

Kesar was so interested to know if Gulaal liked the gift but Gulaal had to keep uttering Talli, Talli,Talli. He had so much anticipation in his eyes to see her reaction to the gift he brought for her. That anticipation showed when he asks her "Accha nahi laga" seeing her confusion. But she managed to cover up by telling him he should be giving it to Talli. I couldn't believe my ears. Even if someone buys me something which I don't like, I would still accept it respecting the person's thoughtfulness. But Gulaal is unbelievable.

Mention of the name Talli, he asks "Kya" and Kesar is totally baffled hearing her suggestion that he asks her " Kyun, Talli ko kyun, I got it for you, so I would give you right??. What a lame excuse to say it would suit her better. Kesar showed his irritation asking "Yeh kya baat hui?, I got for you and you are wanting to give her". In for a total shock, Gulaal fumbled for words saying "Both of you are friends, she would love it, etc, etc. Kesar brought out all his anger saying he just does not care about Talli's likes, dislikes or if she would like it or not. Kesar stated in clear terms that he does not care for Talli's interests.

Unnecessarily Gulaal provoked him to say "If you like it, keep it, if not, throw it. I was too worried seeing how much Kesar has softened down with Gulaal over the last few days. Thankfully he stood his ground and just did not give in to her pleading. Gulaal knew she irked him. She assured she will keep it but Kesar's reaction was as though he wasn't really moved by her great favor in the form of that assurance. Thank god he did not accept her demand to get her a similar piece of fabric. I hope Gulaal's idea of giving very similar gifts to Talli remains restricted to fabrics.

For once, I liked Gulaal making an effort to maintain the level of ease they had both arrived at and almost begged him to get one for Talli. She was too expectant, and when he glared at her in anger at her strange request; she was losing heart when she did not get an assurance from him. Sad for her but good for him, that he did not budge and walked away in sheer frustration and anger. Hope he does not get her one later because that's what he did when it came to seeking forgiveness for turning violent with those guys at the temple.

The scene between Gulaal and Talli was good because I enjoyed every moment of tension Gulaal was put through. When Gulaal could store the Imlis, she would be too happy to keep this gift from Kesar. But unfortunately she can't savor the moment. First she is worried about Kesar's changing attitude, second she will have to put up with Talli's feelings and third she could not convince Kesar to get Talli a similar one. And moreover her plan to bring Kesar and Talli seems to be failing and she got a rude shock when Kesar announced that he has nothing to do with Talli's likes and interests.

With no traces of that anger left, Kesar smiled with so much love and pride when MB is talking about Gulaal's qualities. I loved the sweet eye language between father and son. Especially when MB says to Gulaal'.It is between father and son and Kesar gestures with his hand as though saying "Yes, he is right, why you ask?

Kesar doesn't let go of any opportunity to put Dushyant at unease and went on to ask if he can accompany him. Precap: Angry Kesar. Obviously Gulaal is crowning Dushyant whom Kesar still believes has a hand in his Vasant Ba's killing. I guess that this woman Gulaal wouldn't allow Kesar to lead a peaceful life

Neil was just superb. Kesar came up to meet Gulaal with so much love and expectation. But Gulaal knows perfectly well how to ruin his mood. The love in his eyes turns to anger. with his anger resurfaced, Kesar told her in style to keep the gift or throw it away. Wah Kesar, good you did not turn to a love-sick puppy who would bow down to Gulaal's demands.

The line that totally rocked today's show "Talli ko kya pasand hain ki nahin isse mujhe koi matlab nahin" . I was like whooo hooo!!!!!!! finally Kesar you did it man, akhir Gulaal ko bata hi diya. I really loved the confusion on your face when Gulaal kept muttering abt Talli. Kesar you are a smart guy it wont take long for you to put two and two together. Today's episode was promising and very refreshing for a change, and why not got to see Gulaal at the receiving end and squirming to get herself out of situations. Kyun Gulaal your self righteousness did not work here right? hahaaha. When Kesar after a brief moment of hesitation presents the chunar to Gulaal bechari is totally tongue tied and started mumbling gibberish bringing Talli's name in hesitantly. My favorite dialogue for is when Kesar tells Gulaal" Kyun Talli ko kyun??? ye main tere liye laya hoon to tujhe hi doonga na" . Kesar's reaction was like what the hell Why Talli in between us, this gift is for you if you dont want it throw it away. Hey Kesar you rock with this no-nonsense attitude of yours towards Gulaal. Frankly anyone in Gulaal's place would be bowled over looking at that beautiful chunar. Talli sneaking up on Gulaal, before becahri Gulaal could even recover was hahahaha again sone pe suhaga. As usual Talli started her incessant chattter about Kesar and the chunar...and Gulaal's face drained itself of any color and she blamed it on the sun. Kyun Gulaal its not so easy na ...Kesar is the right match for you if you ask me, he wont let you commit any foolsih deeds anymore. Cant wait for the fireworks to start tomorrow with Gulaal suggesting Dushyant's name for sarpanch.

Neil's best 18/5/11
Though the episode only had a brief period of Kesar's presence, it was all about Kesar's resentment about Dushyant getting undue importance from Gulaal. Be it few minutes of Neil's performance, there is so much that one can enjoy in the episode.
It starts out with Kesar agreeing to MBs choice. He was happy in that decision and was the first to voice out his support in favor of Gulaal. He did reason out why he felt so and praised Gulaal's selfless attitude.

Heights of selflessness, do we call that??Gulaal commended Dushyant out rightly. When Gulaal started her speech in support of another person, Kesar was puzzled as to who she was referring to. And when she did, it came as a rude shock to him. Kesar's anger was visible when he looked at Dushyant. Kesar shifts his glance to Gulaal who seemed visibly happy with her announcement. It was important for Kesar to watch their reactions, to have a better understanding of the mutual admiration that Gulaal and Dushyant seemed to share. He was taken aback; totally shocked that he tries to make her understand to value MBs decision. When she cuts it short and declares her decision, it came as huge shock. Gulaal and Dushyant's mutual admiration seemed to be bringing out some jealousy on his part because Kesar or us for that matter can't comprehend Gulaal's attitude with Dushyant.

Kesar seemed to be at unease when Dushyant praises Gulaal. Kesar gave him one piercing look when Dushyant said " humesha ki tarah kadam se kadam milake sab kaam saath me karta rahoonga". That set him thinking to find a deeper meaning to it. Kesar couldn't find the scenario so palatable when she insisted about Dushyant. He was again taken by surprise when MB agreed with her. It was a sort of resignation on his part that she finally had her say in the matter. He noticed Gulaal's reaction of that of happiness when MB seemed to agree with her. The rising anger was conspicuous. MB's decision came as a bigger shock to him. He again kept noticing how happy Gulaal was when Dushyant was chosen. That culminated in Kesar being forced to recollect the incident where Durgesh mentioned about an "alleged affair" between them. At that point, Kesar just couldn't take any more in his stride and with a sign of resignation; he slowly backed out from the "happy occasion" and left the place in total anger and resentment. In the last scene when he left tearfully, he was more hurt than angry but he was angry all over again.

Gulaal's attitude brought Kesar back to the harsh reality of his life, the resentment that he was so dearly holding on to for ten years, and the resentment that had become the reason for his existence. He had eased out with Gulaal, but her sainthood is going to drive him crazy.

17th May:
Kesar is experiencing new sensations, that he is probably just becoming aware of himself. Maybe this could be the In-love feeling that prompts him to get that chunar for Gulaal. Kesar came with so much of hope and happiness, all he wanted to do was bring a smile on her face and was puzzled when that did not happen and asked surprised "kya pasand nahin aaya". Gulaal's constant Talli mantra is going to drive him up the wall. So far he has been tolerating Talli for the sake of friendship but Gulaal's constant of pushing him towards Talli is going to backfire big time. Kesar was so hurt by Gulaal's behavior but yet covered it up by that "get lost if you don't like it" attitude. Neil, you were super fantastic.

Today Its all about Kesar again and I love that. Even if Kesar might have the teeniest bit of role in any episode but it just leaves a long lasting impression. Look at poor Kesar... driving his bike all the way to the edge of the water. I can just imagine how Kesar would have been in his anger driving towards the river and maybe would just have plunged in. WOW!!! anger is zabardast. I never knew such a simple scene of showing your frustration out by throwing stones into water could have such electrifying results. Got to give a big thank you to Gulaal though Talsagra is full of water now thanks to her special powers. Then only we got to watch such a wonderful Kesuda scene.LOL

How many stones Kesar threw in I lost count ... till probably like there would be no tomorrow. My god his eyes crying his hurt, pain and anger all coming out in such a rush left me overwhelmed. Kesar... wanted to reach out and tell you yaar, main kuch kar sakoon kya tere liye. His flashbacks of Gulaal and the special moments they shared torturing him as if his heart being pierced with a knife. Such a bitter sweet pain is there any relief for Kesar in sight.

Kesar finally tired and spent up all his energy tries crushing a stone but gives up as he just breaks down and the floodgates open up as he lies on those jagged rocks under the vast open sky and the flowing river his only companion as cries his heart out, Why Gulaal Why??? is Dushyant so important to you.

Kesar comes into the house his eyes only seeking Gulaal, completely oblivious to the happenings around him. That scene when Kesar was just observing Gulaal talking to Sudha left me speechless. I mean this guy just loves Gulaal so deeply, kitna pyaaar karte hain and he is so...so...so...deeply hurt. Kesar ka pyaar jhalak raha tha aankhon se, and there is not one damn thing he can do about it. Gulaal is completely unaware of Kesar's existence.

Best scene of the day LOL Gulaal's expression of fright as she suddenly sees Kesar hahaha, that was absolutely fantastic. Cant wait for tomorrow finally Kesar stumped with Gulaal's question ...ab ehsaas hoga ki nahin your feelings for Gulaal. Ye intezaar ka waqt bahut hi mushkil hain.

Neil you never ever disappoint your fans u are working so hard, just enjoying your performances, all I can do is just write a few words...but these are just words, nothing that can do justice to the fabulous work you put out for your fans each day.
