Gudi Padwa is the Hindu new year. People in Maharashtra welcome the New Year by placing a Gudi outside their window or door on this auspicious day. On the day of the Gudi Padwa, Maharashtrians make Gudi by wrapping a piece of cloth around a bamboo stick that is about 5 feet long and covering it with sugar candy garland and neem leaves. The stick is then positioned in a pot.

Many societies or mandals carry out a shobha yatra where there is lezim, dhol pathak and bike rides. Everyone wears traditional clothes and yatra mei orange flag is carried.

Ghar pe khana is vegetarian and a sweet. It also makes onset of harvest

Since Ayesha has done stunts on bikes earlier, stunts toh nahi but Ghum could have utilised that expertise to show atleast one scene for Gudi Padwa like...

It is very common in Mumbai. Women wearing nauvaris, tying safa and riding a bike. I am sure the team knows that. Bas kuch nahi toh bas uski entry kara dete episode mei

I am not a maharashtrian, but have seen my friends and neighbours celebrating it.

Gudi dwaj is fixed in the terrace, with a kalash over a stick and a silk saree draped around it, it is garlanded with flowers and leaves(I think mango and neem, not sure), and a mala of sugar crystals. Then it is worshipped. Rangoli is drawn aroung the gudi, and in the front door.

That's how I have seen the festival being celebrated, I dont exactly know gudi's significance tho. Any marathis who might enlighten. Tagging the maharashtrians I know here, others can tell.

This is always a sight to behold every year👌👌

Especially if the story is based in nagpur, udhar ka toh bike procession kaafi famous hota hai. Ghum makers should pay attention to these stuff yaar
