ZEE TV has wielded its axe for the second time this week by confirming the end of long running drama 'Ghar Ki Lakhsmi Betiyann'.
The show produced by Creative Eye will come to a natural end on Thursday 13th August in India, according to TellyChakkar.
Creative Eye's second show on the channel 'Maayka' will also be ending in the same week.
A source from the show told TellyChakkar, "Betiyann is ending a day before Maayka ends that is on 13th August. All the lead faces have already quit the show and thus it has nothing to boast about. After Gunjan Walia Romit Rajthe only saviour who could salvage the situation too has made an exit."
The demise of 'Ghar Ki Lakhsmi Betiyann' will come as a huge shock to many as the show has been delivering consistently good figures in the old TRP race.
It is now tipped that Contiloe's 'Rani Lakshmi Bai' will replace 'Maayka' and 'Betiyann' will be replaced by Sunshine Productions' 'Karol Bagh'. 'Karol Bagh' is set against the backdrop of Delhi and the shooting is currently taking place in the capital.
At the time of filing this article, BizAsia.co.uk was awaiting confirmation from ZEE TV UK about the telecast dates of final episodes for both shows.
