The driver brought Maan to the rich side of town, apparently was the big boss working from home. When Maan arrived, he saw a huge mansion, decorated like a palace. The servants, who seemingly already knew about his arrival, lead him through a series of corridors to meet the real boss of his company.
He arrived at a big office like library with books filled to the brim and there she stood, with her back facing towards him, overlooking a big garden. The big boss! He was finally meeting them and they were a female!. He knocked on the door as a formality, the door was already open and he had already stepped in. "Good day ma'am" he wished as if he were British as he walked towards the large wooden desk decorated with tons of files.
She turned around, he saw her. A few seconds flew by he and stood still so did the time. He had found her!, or rather she him!
She was his boss too? How? What? When? A million of questions were running in his mind. She demanded his attention by waving her hands in front of him.
"Maan Singh Khurana? I haven't seen you in years! How are you doing? Are you married? How did you end up at this company?" She also had millions of questions but asked him directly instead of thinking it like he did.
"Geet Handa, you're my boss?" He asked her still in shock by seeing her, the only words he could utter! The love of his life was standing in front of him, he just couldn't believe it.
Slowly Geet made him sit down in the large office chair as she made her way to sit next to him. She asked for coffee for her guest and herself from the servants as Maan and Geet started conversations.
"It's been years Maan, I'm sure you have a lot of questions and I have lost contact with so many of my college friends, I had to leave in a hurry, I missed you all so much. I'm here now and will answer all questions truthfully"
Geet then told him all about herself, who she really was and why she left. She told him about the challenges she had to face. He silently listened and let her speak, still in a daze, emotions overwhelming him.
as Geet finished, Maan told her he understands her and isn't mad that she had left so abruptly, he just was very sad he hadn't had any contact with her in so many years. He cursed that reporter.
Geet suddenly received a call and while she was busy talking on the phone, Maan realized that this is his second chance, he lost her once he can't lose her twice.
As she finished her phone call, Maan reached out to her and asked her:
"Geet this is inappropriate but I lost my chance all those years ago but I won't today. Can I take you out for dinner?"
Geet was a bit shocked by Maan's straightforwardness, that was the last thing she had expected from Maan. For her, he was always considered a friend whom she regretted losing contact with but this was a moment where she could change all that. She didn't know what to say, she wasn't even looking for a partner but from her friendship with Maan all those years ago, she knew that if her parents arranged a marriage with him, she would say yes in a heartbeat.
Maan Singh Khurana was a good looking guy who respected elders, respected women, who was smart and never shied away from showing his emotions. But the years had also gone by, was he the same? And could she fall in love with him? She was certain he was in love with her, his eyes conveyed it all.
Geet thought about it and Maan was feeling embarrassed.
"Geet it's okay if you want to say no, I completely understand, I love being your friend and would be grateful just to have only that " He said, standing up and preparing to leave with a heavy heart, albeit also happy for finally finding closure. He had just turned around when he heard her voice.
"Wait, Maan are you asking me for a date, your boss?" Geet asked, a hint of teasing in her voice.
"No" he answered, "I'm asking out my friend from college from all those years back for whom I fell, with whom I lost contact and missed a lot"
"okay, next Thursday, Parapelle's at 8pm? my treat. Don't be late" Geet said, this time smiling at him as he turned around to face her.
Maan was shocked, he was ready to leave and only be a part of Geet's life again as a friend but now she was saying yes to a date! He was over the moon!
"Okay yes, meet you there" He excitedly said and then left Geet's mansion.
That thursday magic happened between them. Geet was sure she had made the right decision to go on a date with Maan. He was so attentive to her and took care of her so well.
A few days later she got a cold and Maan had rushed to take care of her. She had told him she had servants but he still insisted to take care of her personally.
Days went by and their love bloomed. Geet fell for Maan and Maan's love for Geet reached new highs.
After years Geet even proposed to Maan unexpectedly while they were on a business trip.
He of course said yes. And they got married!
They still had their differences but were always able to solve them like mature people.
