Three week passed but in these three weeks, Maan was unable to suppress Geet's memories. Whether it was while sleeping,
taking bath,
or going to work.
Geet was present everywhere.
SEVEN YEARS BACK
After their kiss, Maan has gone and complained to the Principal and school authorities about what happened, and the boys were expelled from the college. As Khuranas were the trustees of the College, the College authorities dare not displease the Khuranas. College authorities knew that the boys who did Geet's ragging belonged to middle class families and only did this on instigation of few rich students i.e. Dev Rathore and Rahul Khosla. With continous pleading of the students, their families and Maan's intervention school authorities showed them mercy by suspending them for two weeks but refused to show any kind of concession for Dev Rathore and Rahul Khosla and expelled them from the college for good.
Soon time started passing, Maan and Geet by now had became close friends. Maan would protect Geet from unwanted male attention, help her in her studies and dropped her home if she had late extra classes. Geet was Maan's safety blanket against unwanted female attention as well. She also cooked for him his favourite dishes which his family did not want him to have i.e. Chaat, street side food etc. Geet was already smitten with Maan since the time they kissed which was changing into love which was not hidden from Maan's mature eyes. Maan also considered Geet as his friend but had no romantic involvement with her. Although when he had introduced Geet to Vicky, and Vicky told Maan that he already knew Geet as she was Annie's dance teacher. Maan was furious when he came to know about Vicky and Geet knowing one another. Maan took out his unexplainable anger on both Vicky and Geet. Maan's anger was due to his possessiveness for Geet, which he refused to admit! No one had ever raised their voice while talking to Geet so that when Maan got angry and yelled at Geet, she got so scared that she fainted. Seeing the effect of Maan's anger on Geet, he decided to control his anger in front of Geet. Then six months later suddenly Geet lost her parents. Being the one and only child she was devastated. Maan tried his best along with Adi, Vicky & Pinky's help to bring Geet out of her depression but it was of no use. Maan also protected the innocent and naive Geet against immediate arrival of Geet's scheming relatives in the college premises. Gradually with lot of efforts by Maan, Adi, Vicky & Pinky she was slowly opening up when suddenly she came face to face with Dev and Rahul shocking her.
Dev by using emotional blackmail and posing to be Maan's true friend was again allowed in college along with Rahul. Dev wanted to teach Maan and Geet a lesson for getting him and his friends expelled from the college. Hence he started poisoning Maan's mind against Geet, initially Maan ignored Dev's negative talks regarding Geet. But after four months of continous negative talks, Maan started believing Dev. Also few incidents happened which worked in Dev's favour i.e. Dev had said that Geet is two timing with Maan and Armaan, a medical student. It just so happened that one day Geet sprained her leg and on her friend Riddhima's insistence, Riddhima's fiance Armaan offered to drop Geet home. Maan saw Geet sitting behind Armaan on his motor cycle and Maan's temper hit the roof. He fought with Geet giving her no opportunity to explain herself. Another incident happened when Dev mentioned Geet meeting their 42yr. old Mathematics Professor Balasubramanium alone in classroom, at his home and in cafeteria making Maan's possessiveness and insecurity increase. Maan's suspicion was confirmed when he found Geet and Professor Balasubramanium having coffee together in an empty cafeteria and professor holding Geet's hand. Maan was fuming seeing Geet with the Professor alone and Professor holding Geet's hand making Maan's jealousy, possessiveness and insecurity increase. Dev on finding Maan sitting alone fuming, very subtly said, "Maan mai shrath laga sakta hoon ki Geet tumse koi pyaar-vyaar nahi karti. Woh toh tumhari respect tak nahi karti." (Maan, I can bet with you that neither Geet loves you nor she respects you.)
"Yeh tum kaise keh sakte ho Dev?" (How can you say that Dev?)
"Iss liye kyunki woh tumhei kabhi bhi apne aapko choone tak nahi deti. Woh tumhei naa toh ek dost aur naa hi ek saathi samajhati hai, balki ek ameer baap ki bigadi aulaad samjhati hai. Kyunki agar yeh sach nahi hota toh woh Armaan aur Professor Balasubramanium ke saath ghanton time beetane ke bajayeh tumhare saath time beetati." (Because if she really loved you she will let you touch her. She neither considers you as her friend nor well wisher! Other wise she would not have spent time with Armaan or Professor Balasubramanium but you. She only considers you as a rich spoilt brat!)
"NAHI! Mai yeh nahi maanta! Geet mujhse sacha pyaar karti hai." (NO! I don't agree with you. Geet truly loves me!)
"Theek hai toh saabit karke dekhao. Agar tum Geet ke saath sirf ek raat beetao toh mai tumhei apni D******* *****y bike jo tumhei bahut pasand hai 24 ghante ke liye de doongaa!" (Fine, then prove it! If you can make Geet spend one night with you, I'll let you keep for 24hours my D******* *****y bike which you dearly love!)
Hence to calm his smarting ego, his pride and his attitude, Maan told Geet that if she wants them to be together from now onwards and also Maan to forgive her (FOR WHAT??) she has to spend one night with him. Hearing which Geet was horrified but agreed to this indecent proposal as she did not want to loose her love, Maan. Geet told Maan that she is willing to do what Maan wants as long as Maan also fulfills her one condition.
Maan came out of his past with sharp ringing of a phone. Picking up the phone he heard Pinky's voice, "Maan Sir, Mr. Chopra meeting ke liye aaye hain!"
PRESENT
Location: RANAWAT MANSION, GOLF LINKS, NEW DELHI
Gayatri has been in deep thoughts since meeting Mr. Maan Singh Khurana. Why does she feel that she knows Maan Singh Khurana from long? Why did he address her as Geet? WHO IS GEET? Is she Mr. Khurana's girl friend? Is she Mr. Khurana's fiancee? OR Is she Mr. Maan Singh Khurana's WIFE?? These questions are hammering in her brain driving her crazy. Finally unable to bear the stress and tension any longer, she called Meera and told her everytrhing. Meera spoke in a calm and cool voice, "Gayatri, pehle tum shaant ho jao, mai tumhein sab sach sach battati hoon. Geet Handa tumhari behan yaani Mausi ki beti thee aur woh Hoshiyarpur mein rehti thee. Woh XYZ college mei padti thee." (Gayatri calm down, I'll tell you the whole truth. Geet Handa is your cousin. She is your mother's sister's daughter. She use to live in Hoshiyarpur. She was studying in XYZ college.)
"Meera didi abb Geet kahaan hain?" (Meera where is Geet now?)
"Gayatri, Geet ki mauth chhe(6) saal pehle child birth mein ho gayi thee." (Gayatri, Geet passed away 6 years back in child birth.)
"Toh Geet didi ka baby kahaan hai?" (Where is Geet's baby?)
"Baby bhi still birth hua thaa!!" (Baby was born a still birth.)
"Kya Geet didi ki shaadi hui thee?" (Was Geet married?)
"Nahi woh bin byaahi maa thee. Abb mai phone rakhti hoon kyunki yahan der raat hai. Good night!" (No she was an unwed mother. Now I'll call off as its late night here. Good night!)
NEXT DAY
Location : RANAWAT INDUSTRIES (RNI), HEAD OFFICE, NEW DELHI, 11;00a.m.
Ranawat and Khurana's meeting started sharp on time. Today Maan was focused and was asking rapid fire questions. The team of Ranawat Industries were stupefied how to answer as Gayatri had still not come as yet. Ten minutes later Gayatri walked in a crisp cotton saree much to relief of team of Ranawat Industries.
But Maan was disconcentrated seeing Gayatri looking pale, weak and tired. Although she was answering all the questions aimed at her but Maan could see that she is not well. About 15 minutes before lunch break Gayatri stood up to answer a Sasha's question when she felt dizzy. Before she could say anything, she passed out. Maan who was sitting beside her just caught her in time before she hit the floor. Maan ordered, "We will continue this meeting tomorrow!"
With help of Pari and Mrs. Devaki Sharma (HR Head), Maan was guided to Gayatri's personal chamber where he laid her on the couch and then called his family doctor. The doctor came and shooed Maan out. After examining, she went where Maan was waiting. As Dr. Sudha Raghupathi was Maan's mother, Garima Khurana's childhood friend she decided not to tell anyone her discovery except Garima. "Maan beta, Ms. Ranawat is highly anemia and extremely weak. Please give her these vitamins to boost her health. Anyway I have given her a medication intravenously (IV), she should soon recover." Maan,Saying this Dr. Sudha Raghupathi left.
After half an hour Gayatri regained her consciousness and found Pari and Maan near her. Gayatri was surprised seeing Maan there. "Mr. Khurana, aap yahaan? Sorry humare kaaran aapko takleef hui." (Mr. Khurana, you are here? Sorry for inconveniencing you!) Seeing stiffening of Maan's jaw she understood that she has displeased him in some way. Hence she whispered to Pari, "Pari can you please bring for Mr. Khurana black coffee and for me some masala tea? Please also order some pasta for Mr. Khurana's as his lunch has been delayed! Thank you!" Understanding her bosses' indication regarding the foul mood of their client, Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, Pari at once left.
Gayatri opened her mouth to say something but before she could say anything, Maan poured his anger on her, "Tum apne aapko samjhati kya ho, Geet? Agar tumhari tabiyat theek nahi thee toh ghar par aaram karteen yahaan kyun ayeen? Hum meeting kissi aur din ke liye postpone kar sakte the." (What do you think of yourself Geet? If you were not well you should have rested at home. We could have postponed the meeting for another day!)
"Mr. Khurana, aap bina baat pareshaan ho rahe hain. Hum bilkul theek hain. Humara naam Geet nahi Gayatri hai. Geet humari mauseri behan hai. Humara matlab hai theen, Geet abb iss duniya mein nahi hain." (Mr. Khurana, you are worrying unnecessarily. I'm perfectly fine! My name is Gayatri not Geet. Geet Handa is my cousin. I mean she was my cousin. She is no longer alive!)
"KYA? TUM JHOOT BOL RAHI HO." (WHAT? YOU ARE LYING!)
"Nahi hum sach keh rahe hain. Geet ki mauth chhe(6) saal pehle child birth mein ho gayi thee."(No I'm telling the truth. She passed away 6years back in child birth.)
"KYA? CHILD BIRTH? Toh baccha kahaan hai?"(WHAT? CHILD BIRTH? Then where is the baby?)
"Baccha bhi maraa hua paida hua thaa!" (Baby was born a still birth.)
"NAHI MAI NAHI MAANTA. TUM JHOOT BOL RAHI HO. TUM HI GEET HO! Tumhei humesha mujhe pareshaan karne mein mazaa aata thaa." (NO I DONT BELIEVE YOU !YOU ARE LYING! YOU ARE GEET!! You always loved troubling me.) Maan stomped out of Geet's room in anger, pain and a sense of immense guilt !
