CHARACTER SKETCH
SAVITRI DEVI KHURANA
76 yr. Old. Chairperson of Khurana Group of Industries i.e. Khurana Constructions, Khurana Hospitals, Khurana Hotels etc. Savitri Devi is a firm believer of girl's education and women's right. She is Chairperson of Khurana Institute for Learning (KIL). She is a very strict disciplinarian, but she is also very soft hearted when situation demands. Her word is final in Khurana Mansion. She is very fond of Geet Handa who teaches dance at their Khurana Institute for Learning (KIL). Although Saviti Devi never asked directly but she knew that Geet belonged to a rich and high status family by hearing her talking, walking, her dressing and the grace by which she carried herself.
RISHABH SINGH KHURANA
58yr old CEO of Khurana Industries. Academically he is an Engineer. He is Maan, Vicky and Annie's father. He believes that one should fight for one's right especially women and girls. He is pro girl's education and hence has opened schools for girls and institute for destitute women called Khurana Institute for Learning (KIL). He is very proud of his wife's achievements and always encourages her if she wants to do something different. He accepts his mother's decision as final most of the times but few time he has also gone against his mother's decision i.e. sending Annie to a co-ed school instead of all girls school! He knows something has happened between his children 7 yrs. back on Farewell Party night at Maan and Vicky's Unversity as they have not spoken to one another properly. He is physically very fit for his age and still has girls and women falling for him .
GARIMA SINGH KHURANA (Rima)
55yr old She is Maan, Vicky and Annie's mother. She is a lawyer by profession, specialising in Women's rights i.e. Dowry deaths, rape, murder, sexual harassment etc. whenever she is free she goes to visit Khurana Foundation and KIL with her mother-in-law. Both Savitri Devi and Garima have developed KIL's three main wings - SARASWATI i.e. Academic School for poor, orphan and sexually abused young girls as well as dance & music academy; DURGA i.e. School for teaching self defence in form of Karate to girls and women; and LAKSHMI i.e. School imparting knowledge for few vocations i.e. Pappad making, achaar making, typing, basic computer programming, company secretary course etc. to girls and women to make them economically independent. She usually follows her mother-in-law or husband's decision at home. But she does contradict them if it effects her children's life or a woman's dignity. She is also aware that something has happened between her children 7 yrs. back as they have not spoken to one another properly. Initially she tried to find out what the problem was but when three of them said its between them she didn't broach the topic again! She is a strict but loving mother. She was extremely impressed by Geet's ability to handle studies and be involved in teaching dance as well. She had thought to meet Geet's parents and ask her hand in marriage for Maan or Vicky but before completing her graduation one day she just disappeared!
MAAN SINGH KHURANA (MSK)
32yr. old. Future heir of Khuranas Industries. He has done Bachelors degree in Architecture as well as MBA degree. He is now MD of Khurana Constructions and Khurana Industries world wide. Maan is tall, handsome youngman with chiselled jaw line having sexy stubble & well toned body with 8pack abs. Intelligent, arrogant, ruthless(with enemies), tough employer. Hates lies, gossip & deceit. Very loving & soft towards his family. He is very idealistic in work and in life. For Maan there is only black & white (good & bad) but no shades of grey! Always supports truth even if its spoken by people who are of lower status than him. For him merit of a person is more important than his social status! But seven years back, he did a crime and now he is living in guilt for having ruined a girl's life due to being given false information but that however doesn't lessen his guilt !! Due to his this crime his one and only sister has not spoken to him for seven years. After that incident Maan has become a very reserved, quite and an introvert person. Initially where he had number of friends who were girls, now he doesn't have a single friend who is girl as he feels extremely guilting for ruining an innocent girl's life whom he had asked to consider him as her friend. Its not that girls don't want to befriend him but he doesn't want to be friends with them. He so much wants to confess his crime to his grandmother, father and mother, but is holding back as he knows that his family will boycott him if they know his truth. He doesn't want to loose his family as he has lost his friend. He has a terrifying temper which is always ready to erupt any moment due to his wanting to suppress his guilt for the crime committed and also because he is hiding a secret from the world which even Annie and Vicky don't know about!!
VIKRANT SINGH KHURANA (Vicky)
29yr.old. He is MD of Khurana Hotels. He is happy go lucky fellow, opposite of Maan. He is a big flirt and is always surrounded by models, film actresses and high profile women. Beside their sister, Annie, he is the only other family member who knows about Maan's misdeed. Although he is willing to give his brother benefit of doubt unlike Annie but he is still very angry with his brother's behaviour.
ANKITA SINGH KHURANA (Annie)
22yr. Old Youngest of the Khurana siblings. Earlier Maan was her favourite brother till that incident happened. She use to be bubbly, talkative and full of life seven years back but no longer. That incident made her realise that a woman or girl is safe nowhere. She has started hating men as she feels that when a man who is well educated, rich and coming from a good family can do this kind of behaviour, any man can! She now teaches classical dance . She considers Geet her role model. She is still waiting for her teacher, mentor and guide, Geet to return to her someday!
GAYATRI SINGH RANAWAT :
25yr. Old. Gayatri is the only child of Rudra Pratap and Parvati Ranawat. Gayatri is a billionaire heiress as she is one and only heir of the Ranawat Empire alive. Rumour has it that Ranawat have some connections with one of the Royal families of Rajashan. But neither Rudra nor Parvati have ever confirmed or denied this rumour. Although for her security, till now media and outer world does not know "Who is Gayatri SinghRanawat (heir to Ranawat Empire)?" Gayatri lost her parents eight years back in a car accident. As in India she was missing her parents too much after a year of their demise she to move to US for her further education, with her father's best friend Mr. Ram Kapoor and his family. This was six years back when Gayatri was in her Second Year in Bachelors of Architecture.
Gayatri is a classical Indian beauty with whom all men irrespective of their age fall in love. She has extremely fair complexion like milk; almond shaped big hazel coloured eyes; beautiful long below waist length wavy hair; and an hourglass figure. She has become very reserved, quite and an introvert since her parents' death. Due to personal experiences she has become totally emotionless and her laughter has disappeared along with her carefree, bubbly and child like temperament. The only people who get to see some of her emotions are her Chote Papa (Ram), Choti Maa (Priya), Meera and Himanshu. In her college days, due to her traditional way of dressing and talking, her batchmates often mistook for her being illiterate, lacking culture and in short a "village bumpkin". But elders can see her grace, her etiquette, her manners and her inborn culture indicating that she comes from a very cultured background.
Gayatri last went to India on her 21st birthday when she legally took over being Head of Ranawat Empire. Due her father's early demise she has become a very good judge of character and her relatives whether close or distant can't take advantage of her. She had finished her MBA, and joined in Kapoor Constructions as Junior Architect. Although she is working under Ram but she is more strict than even Ram towards her juniors. She has returned to India to take over the post of CEO of Ranawat Industries (RNI). Despite of Ram's denial and resistance she decided to make Ram Chairman of Ranawat Industries till she turns 29. As it will not only give her four years to train under Ram but also make her beware of scheming, calculative and manipulative gold diggers who want ursurp her Ranawat Empire i.e. her distant chacha and chachi; her distant mama and mami etc. Thereby making Gayatri responsible and efficient to shoulder the responsibility of Ranawat Industries(RNI) single handedly!
GIRIJASHANKAR GUPTA
He is the loyal Munimji of Kunwar Rudra Pratap Ranawat (as Munimji likes to call Rudra). As Gayatri was studying abroad she gave day to day resposibility of running Ranawat Industries(RNI) to Munim Girijashankar Gupta. He has been her one and only family and she calls him "Kaka". Munimji was seeing to Gayatri's welfare but when he saw her loosing weight and going into depression he called Ram what to do? That's when Ram and Priya came to know about Rudra and Parvati's demise. They immediately arrived and took Gayatri with them to US on excuse of further studies. Although her distant Chacha and Chachi were very unhappy with this decision but Rudra had already made this provision in his will as he was aware of his distant cousin and his wife's dishonest ways! In between Gayatri had also visited India when Munimji had asked her to come for signatures on any official documentation.
RAM & PRIYA KAPOOR
Ram and Priya were very close friends of Rudra and Parvati but were based in US. They had come to meet Gayatri after her parents demise. But as they got news late about Rudra and Parvati's demise i.e. it was nearly a year after Gayatri's parents demise that Ram and Priya came. Seeing Gayatri at her very low, Ram and Priya took Gayatri with them to US leaving Munimji to handle Ranawat Industries(RNI) with direct supervision by Ram. Rudra had also in his will given joint Power of Attorney to Ram and Priya till Gayatri turned 21. Ram owns Kapoor Construction in San Francisco, US. They have two children Meera and Avinash.
MEERA KAPOOR
27 yr. old. Meera is eldest child of Ram and Priya. She is Gayatri's senior by two years and they both studied in the same University. One day in her weak moment Gayatri told Meera her whole life story. Hence Gayatri is closest to Meera. After listening to Gayatri's painful past she has started admiring Gayatri. Although Meera feels that Gayatri was not right in her decision. But when Gayatri answered,"Didi, pyaar mei sahi aur galat kuch bhi nahi hota!" (There is nothing right or wrong in love!) Meera had no answer.
AVINASH KAPOOR (Avi)
25 yr. old. Avinash is second child of Ram and Priya. He is attracted to Geet and has told her "I LOVE YOU!" a number of times. But Geet ignores it as she has seen him say ILU to any girl he fancies. Like Geet, Ram, Priya and Meera also ignore his nonstop confession and don't take it seriously! He is the only one who has the ability to make Geet smile and once in a while laugh.
DEV RATHORE
35yr. old. Presently in jail. He was an orphan adopted by a rich business family. But when he got arrested and his adopted family came to know about his illegal and nefarious activities, they have disowned him. Although he is senior to Maan by three years, but as he was poor in studies and kept failing for three years and hence he became Maan's batchmate. It was due to him that Maan committed the heinous crime. Dev was always jealous of Maan but pretended to be his friend till Maan found out the truth. Geet had got him arrested and he now wants revenge from Geet once he comes out of prison.
SASHA GUPTA :
27yrs. Old. She is Khurana's old and loyal Munishiji's daughter. She works as a Junior architect in Khurana Construction. She is very cunning and devious. Besides Maan she is also the reason that why Maan's PA cum PS don't last! She loves to boss her juniors! Her main aim is to marry one of the Khurana brothers and rule Khurana Industries.
ADITYA GARG (ADI):
33yrs. old. Adi is a very close friend of Maan's! Maan and Adi were in same University and batchmates but in different disciplines. Aditya's father was a very close friend of Khuranas. He is the Head of Accounts department. After his father's death, and Adi having to go through financial crisis as his father left him lot of debts, Khurana's employed him. He is very loyal to Rishabh Singh Khurana and Khurana industries. Adi can do anything for Khuranas. Adi is extremely close to Khurana family. Adi is aware of Maan's misconduct but Maan, Vicky and Annie thinks that Adi doesn't know! Maan trusts him the most professionally & personally. Although Adi is Maan's friend cum right hand man, but Adi only has professional relationship with Maan as after that incident he now is disillusioned by Maan. Geet is Adi's "rakhi" sister as both were orphans without a family!
PINKY MANCHANDA :
25yrs. old. Receptionist at KC. Very jovial, full of life & loves eating. She likes Adi, but Adi considers her immature and irresponsible.
