Location : RANAWAT INDUSTRIES (RNI), HEAD OFFICE, NEW DELHI
Today Maan was going to meet one and only living member of Ranawats. If one goes by rumours Miss Ranawat's family is very distant relatives of one of the royal families from Rajasthan. Rumours also say that Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat who is heiress to Ranawat Empire, is a beauty to behold but unfortunately an ice maiden! Maan has never met her but has heard from his contemperories about her beauty and intelligence. As soon as it was their appointment time, Maan was escorted to the MD's Miss Gayatri Ranawat's cabin. Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat was also an acting CEO of Ranawat Industries in absence of CEO of Ranawat Industries, Mr. Ram Kapoor. Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat's PA adviced Maan,"Mr. Khurana, please don't consider me impertinent but I would request you not to shake hands with Miss Ranawat. She gets highly offended if anyone wants to shake hands with her." Maan nodded and the PA guided him inside.
Maan entered a huge room which was decorated in a classy style
with few God's idols arranged in a small alcove of the room.
Which without hampering the professional look of the room was giving it a divine and pure look. On one wall was a large potrait of a couple in traditional attire.
Maan assumed them to be Miss Gayatri Ranawat's parents, Rudra Pratap and Parvati Ranawat. The idol of Gods reminded Maan of the purity and innocence of a person, whom he should have teasured. But he destroyed her in his ego, attitude and false pride! Due to his high handed attitude she is now missing and he is unable to ask her forgiveness for his sins !!
The MD's chair's back was facing the entrance door of the room and the person on the chair was dicussing something with her employee but on hearing the PA's announcement,"Ma'am, Mr. Khurana is here." She turned.
Maan was expecting a forty plus spinster who was egoist, cranky and shrivelled up but was trying to maintain her superficial beauty due to collagen and botox treatments. But when the chair swirled Maan was stunned. Sitting on the chair was a woman whom he had never hoped to meet. Before he could get his emotions under control he uttered, "GEET? TUM??" (Geet? You?) Maan was sure that its Geet, the girl whom he had committed the crime against.
Gayatri gracefully got up from her chair and said in an American accent, "Mr. Khurana, I'm Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat (emphasizing "Miss"), maybe you have confused me with someone else. Please be seated so we can proceed with our meeting. Pari please get the site in Gurgaon's details, so Mr. Khurana can study it."
Maan was unable to remove his eyes from Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat's face. Her face looked exactly like Geet Handa but rest everything was different. Geet wore only traditional Indian dresses i.e salwaar-kurta,churidaar-kurta etc. whereas Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat wore formal Western wear;
Geet never wore any makeup whereas Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat wore light & subtle make up;
Geet wore black shell frame spectables on her nose
whereas Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat had subtle eye shadowed on her eye lids and well defined eyes with kohl pencil;
Geet only wore jhuttis whereas Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat wore designer stiletto heels on her feet;
Geet always braided her hair whereas Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat's hair was tied in fashionable French roll;
Geet always spoke in Hindi whereas Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat was only speaking in English; with a strong American accent but above all this, Geet was always bubbly, full of life, naive, child-like and innocent girl
whereas Miss Gayatri Singh Ranawat was emotionless, cool as ice, efficient and professional woman heading RNI. Maan was busy in just gaping at Gayatri Singh Ranawat that he did not pay attention to what kind of construction Miss Ranawat wanted done at her Gurgaon site! Luckily, Adi had joined Maan after 15 mins. of the Ranawat and Khurana's meeting commencement and he jotted all the important points! Finally, Miss Ranawat concluded,"Mr. Khurana, I hope I have made myself clear about what we want."
"Yes absolutely Ge...I mean Ma'am. Khurana Construction has a reputation for good and reliable constructed buildings." Adi answered.
"I suggest Mr. Khurana and Mr. Garg, you please go through our discussion and accordingly plan the blueprints. I hope to meet you in three weeks time." Miss Ranawat enquired looking at her diary. Maan was in a world of his own till Adi nudged Maan and said, "Maan, Miss Ranawat tumse kuch pooch rahi hain." (Maan, Miss Ranawat is asking you a question.) Seeing Maan's vacant look Adi said, "Maan, MaAN," Then Adi shook Maan hard and said at a slightly higher pitch,"MAAN!" Bring Maan back to earth. "Yes, Miss Ranawat. I think three weeks will give us sufficient time to do site inspection, prepare blueprint and give you a quote!"
Maan, Adi and Miss Ranawat arose signalling the end of their meeting. Before Maan could ask any question Pari went to Miss Ranawat and said,"Ma'am, Mr. Dev Rathore from Rathore Construction is here."
"Pari, I thought I told you strictly that I don't want to meet that horrendous man or anyone from his company."
"Yes Ma'am, I know but he refuses to take 'no' for an answer."
Gayatri picked up the phone and said in a voice cool as ice, "Captain Khandelwal, can you please see that, THAT CONVICT DEV RATHORE is removed from Ranawat premises. Yes Thank you!" Gayatri left the conference room without looking in Maan's direction.
Location: KHURANA FARMHOUSE, CHATTARPUR, DELHI
Maan was too disturbed to go home and knew that he won't be able to hide his emotions from his Mom and Dad. Maan couldn't believe that his nerdy and fashion disaster Geet could change so much. Where did his geeky, innocent, naive and giggling Mishty go? Where did his friend, his stress buster Geet who was full of life, fun and laughter go? Although Gayatri had corrected him that she was not Geet but his heart knew that under all that aura of glamour, elegance and professionalism the heart that beats is of Geet! He may not have loved Geet (Maan is fooling himself!), but he always considered Geet as his friend, comrade and confidante afterall Geet was his...Pulling himself together, Maan said aloud, "Afterall Geet was always head over heels in love with ME!!" He still remembers seven years back when...
SEVEN YEARS BACK
Maan was getting late for his First Year MBA's Final exam and was walking hurriedly towards the exam hall when he banged into a soft body smelling of light lavender.
He was about to yell at the person who banged into him but when he saw almond shaped hazel eyes brimming with tears.
He had never seen such beautiful eyes in his life! He was under such a spell of those eyes, he could not bear to see tears in those beautiful eyes.
He was so engrossed in the girl's eyes that he did not see her full face, dress, hairstyle etc. He was totally drowning in the hazel eyes when he heard a sweet voice apologising, "Hummei maaf kar dijiye. I'm sorry!" The owner of the eyes said disentangling herself from Maan. Maan didn't respond as he was in a trance. The hazel eyes then said in a shivering voice, "Kya...aaap...
humari...mmmadaat...kar sakte hain??(Can...yyyou...
ppplease...hhhelp...mme?)Maan still in trance nodded yes without even realising. "Woh aaj humara pehala din hai iss college mein. Aur woh log (indicating with her eyes to some seniors standing away from Maan and Geet) hummei pareshaan kar rahe hain ki hum kissi ladke ko..." (Today is my first day in this college. Those people (indicating with her eyes to some seniors standing away from Maan and Geet) are forcing me to go to a boy...) the girl blushed.
"Ladke ko kya?" (Do what to the boy?) Maan asked in his deep baritone voice.
"Hum kissi ladke ko...woh..." (I should...boy...)
"Daro matt! Battao woh ladke kya chahte hain?" (Don't be scared, tell me what they want you to do?) Seeing the innocent and naive girl blushing red, Maan concluded, "Woh chahte hain ki tum kissi ladke ko kiss karo?" (They want you to kiss a boy?)
"Ji..." (Yes.) She nodded and then added, "Nahi toh hummei unmei se kissi ek ko woh...karna padega!" (Otherwise I'll have to kiss one of them.) Slowly with a lopsided smile Maan turned his cheek towards her.
The girl blushingly said, "Aap apni aankhe toh band kariye!" (At least close your eyes.)
Maan was amused but decided to play along and closed his eyes.
Just when the girl's lips were about to touch Maan's cheek he turned around and the girl's lips landed on Maan's lips.
The moment the two lips met there was instant electric spark in Maan's body. Maan did not want those soft, sweet, warm and moist lips to leave his and he devoured them, kissing away all her juices till she became breatheless!
"Maan Baba, Bhabhiji ka phone hai!" (Maan Sir, your mother is calling.) Voice of Ramu kaka brought back Maan from his past to his present!
