Chapter 3

Leela : Geet abhi bhi kehti hu chal yahan se chalte hai...u he kahi police k chakar main na pad jaaye. ( she again held Geet by hand...)

Geet stopped for a moment..Looked at Leela with tear filled eyes..Nodded her head Leela loosened her grip from Geet's wrist lik She understood silent language of her tears .

She turned n moved toward that visible figure opposite side of lake.She had no fear of water..she had no fear of any police...She crossed lake having much above her ankles or upto her calves...Something bite her in water.She beard coz she couldn't shout.For her Leela also followed..Geet was not jst Rano's daughter but to Leela also. So she couldn't leave her alone .

Geet bent on her knees at sand and sat near to that person.who was on his stomach so his face was not visible.

Leela : Patta nahi kon hai badnaseeb (unlucky )...yahan sunsaan jagah (deserted ) main kaise pahuncha ?

Geet looked at Leela with sad eyes.n turned that person to her lap within moments. What Leela n Geet saw. A man having severe injuries on his whole body..head..Even Geet noticed her hands also had blood might b from that man's arms from where she turned him.even blood from his back turned her lite pink dress to red .

She looked at Leela with wide open n shocked eyes...showing blood on her hand Suddenly put same hand on his heart.His heart was beating slowly..with lil slow heart beat.He was alive.

Leela: kya hai Geet...yeh jinda hai...ya ? ( before she could complete her sentence Geet pushed her down n placed Leela's hand on his chest)

He was alive.Both ladies looked at each other what to do know..Geet was not able to say any thing...but she was too sharp.She wrote few words on sand with her same red finger.

Geet (wrote) : Massi apna mobile nikalo ( Leela had mobile gifted by her brother.He lived in Amritsar.But loved her sister very much so ..when even he wanted to talk to her..He jst made a call . Even he always recharged her phone coz she had not much money to bear bills But she always had her phone in her beg ..when going outside home.)

Leela : ha ha yeh theek hai Geet (she opened bag )

Before she could put her phone out . Geet wrote some words more in hurry .

Geet (wrote) : make call to Rahul ( she also wrote his number) n also Sham...jaldi aa jaye yahan .Aur Rahul se kaho apni bike le kar aaye.

Leela did same .But it took about 20 minutes.In between this ladies came on this outcome that this man defiantly fell from that hilltop winding road running side by side this lake.So might b any accident was reason he fell down here in this lake .First Sham came on cycle..he was free after playing cricket so at was home.He was a peon in local post office.After that Rahul came.After knowing all situation..They planned what to do.

Rahul: Geet iski haalat bahut najuk hai ..jaldi karna hoga warna kush bhi ho sakta hai .

Geet nodded her head in yes...So they decided to took that person to near by hospital 5 kms away from this village...That man was well built beautiful young man..But not to senses.so they four had to work hard to put him on bike...outside lake. Geet put off her dupttaa n helped Rahul to tie that man behind him on bike n Sham on back of him..That person was in between both Sham held him form shoulders n they moved toward only hospital of near by town...Leela gav Geet her Shawal to put as Leela had dupttaa n shawal both

Leela: Chall Geet Rahul aur Sham usko hospital chod dengay...teri Maa teri raah dekhti hogi .( she held Geet's hand)

Geet stopped n nodded her head .She put her hand on heart n other hand toward the road She had decided to go behind them to hospital.

Leela: Per Geet.

Geet put out slate from her Thaila(bag) which she used to make others understand what they wanna say.If she failed.

Geet (wrote): Massi maa ko keh denna main hospital ja rahi hu...agar kush baat ho Rahul k phone per baat kar le..Uska number Maa k pass hai .

Leela: Tu pagal ho gayi hai...tujhko samjhana naa-mumkin hai ...

But Geet neglected what Leela said.coz she knew Lella gonna inform her mother. She put her slate in bag n took Sham's cycle standing near to them.As he requested Geet to took that home.

At the hospital

Geet reached there within 20 minutes.She was breathless riding very fast.Inside hospital she found Rahul n Sham standing outside emergency.

Geet went to Rahul jerked his hand many times within moments to know what happened.

Rahul : Geet bahut serious hai...patta nahi kaise bacch gaya..

Geet put out her slate coz she was not able to make them understand what she wanna know.

Geet (wrote): Doctor ne kya kaha ? (she showed to sham )

Sham : Didi abhi kush nahi keh sakte.woh test kar rahe hai ? ( he put his hand on Geet's shoulder)

Same time nurse came n asked them to submit five thousand rupees.

Rahul : Itne paise hum kaha se layegay Geet woh bhi itni jaldi..( he said)

Geet ( Wrote) : Tum ja kar doctor se baat karo na..ilaaz karre hum intzaam karte hai .(n she stretched her eye brows)

Sham: Per Rahul Bhai..kahan se intzaam karegay.?...

Geet thought for a while.She had a ring in her finger.She removed that n gave to Sham.

Geet (wrote) : sell it...we ll get 10 to 15 thousands

Rahul : Per Geet ek ajnabi k liye tum apni ring kyoh they rahi ho..aur woh bhi jo tumko jaan se pyari hai..kitni yeh saara gaaon (village ) janta hai

Geet closed her eyes tears came out from those hazel beads...n... she gave it to Sham He said nothing...As everybody knew what she decided that was final.

Rano talked to Rahul on phone...She was worried about Geet...But Rahul ensured Rano about Geet's safety .Sham gav 13 thousand rupees after selling ring...Rahul submitted 5 thousand in hospital...After 8 hours wait doctors was able to say some thing...Sham went back.But Geet n Rahul was still there

Rahul: Doctor woh admi theek hai na.?

Doc: maine sunna to tha karishma(miracle ) hota hai dekh bhi liya.Ha woh bacch to gaya.Per aagay kya hogga kush keh nahi sakte..

Rahul: Dr. saab main samjha nahi(confused Rahul said)..

Dr: Us ki back bone aur sir main gahri chot (serious injuries ) aayi hai darr hai to paralysis ka.But before every thing he should b out of coma.

Geet was shocked standing lik a statue. Her memory went many years back.When such a storm swept away her whole happiness. Which only she knew n Rano knew.

Rahul : Geet kya hua ..?( he jerked her hand)...
