...if the response is nil...moving to blog is completely justified... even I would request the gals...plz show some interest in ur feedback...it is worth the efforts of the writers...I know some may not be very good in giving feedback...((even I am not very good at it)) ...still u can try and at least tell wat u liked in the update... Lastly ...again a big big big big kudos to sanjana for bringing up dis issue...its like an eye opener...adreesing an issue which was not touched by anyone so far...
And a bigger bigger bigger bigger kudos to the writers for der spirit and motivation in spite of so many problems...:):):):)...

Okay, frankly speaking I really don't know if a Geet who is just way too innocent, naive, oblivious to the cruel world exists or not. Cos the environment I grew up in and the female friends I have; all have been very outgoing, outspoken, bindaas, independent, strong headed and hearted. So most of the time I really don't relate to Geet that has been written but I do accept and love her taking her as a mere character in a fiction.

However, like the stories you mentioned, there Geet has been one who lives on her own terms. She is selfish, egoist, arrogant, proud. Such traits of hers are something I can actually relate to cos I am like that and I have no shame in admitting it. I do not believe in fairy tales or prince and princess stories or hum do hamare do or happily ever after concepts in real life. Girls have stopped living in Barbie doll world. So when I do read a Geet who is way too naive for her age, I find it little unrealistic. But then, thats me. Some may actually relate to the innocent Geet shown in stories. After all every coin has two sides. So like how we accept and love innocent Geet, let those writers also have the right to present a different Geet.

All I can say is at least let the writer try cos who knows one may actually end up liking those bold Geet. There are readers like me who enjoy reading grey shade character Geet but cos of others, writers are apprehensive to try something new. And once they are bashed on personal level, they really lose interest in writing.

About hate pm, even I could never imagine that such things can happen with a writer. So at the end it's only who suffer and are left disheartened. They take hours to plan a concept, think, type and post. They dont get the desired response, yet they fulfil readers request and demands, they have to endure all non sense from readers and still are expected to continue writing? It is totally ridiculous to know a writer has to go through so so much.

Even if someone is simply used to reading such usual concept then that does not give that reader a right to go stop another writer from trying different genre and concepts.

I won't be saying anything about likes, comments and shifting to blogs. Enough has been said and done in this regard yet the problem remains same! Relations are always reciprocal and same goes for reader-writer relationship. If reader want story on IF they need to pen down their views and writers need to be responsive to the comments they get on their thrrads! That's wot reciprocal means not that an update is given in turn of the comments. No.

2ndly and most importantly, mind should be open to all ideas for writing, reading. I personally have no liking for dark fictions so I don't read much. But both characters of MG have to be treated equally. Biased nature wouldn't do justice. The problem is people suffer from prejudice. They can accept a man in all shades but a woman has to fit in the age old criteria of woman i.e. Sati Savitri. A man ia acceptable if he's many women man but a woman should be 1 man woman. Kyu bhai theka le rakha hai kya sari women ki sexuality ka?? Why can't a woman has more than 1 non platonic relationship? We don't mind Deepika Padukone dating many men but if Geet's character is flipping from 1 man to another than itis wwrong, why so?

Also, getting judgemental is very wrong. Just like in a film writer has cinematic liberty same way a fiction writer too has that liberty. Getting cynical about a writer or story or character is pathetic! It not only demoralises writer but also hampers the reader's liberal attitude.
Readers can accept Maan as rapist or something but at the same time they want Geet to be completely honest and devoted to Maan, this is sheer HYPOCRISY.. Also there is absolutely no nees to imagine your own self in place of character because if you do so you will start getting judgemental coz you will this is unethical, wrong I can't be doing something like this and hence the disliking for character erupts.

So guys, sau baaton ki ek baat hai... read but read with open mind and don't bash anyone if you don't like something rather feel free to move on from the story!

What is bhai tehelka.com? 😆

About writer's being responsive to readers comments, I can only say think from their pov. A writer has a life too. I believe most of the writers on this forum are either college girls, working woman, married working woman, married working woman with kid or simply a housewife. So obviously we all know that they all would be busy with their daily routine. Yet they manage to squeeze an hour or two, type one update of 2000+ words and post it. And then there are writers who write more than one story. So when they get free time, they prefer giving an update rather replying to each comment and delay the update. There are readers who demand regular updates else they threaten to leave or stop reading their story. We probably readers dont even know what type of comments a writer must be receiving cos of course we come, read the update, comment and go. We assume that every reader must be like us. But there are few exceptions who demand, bash, show attitude, be mean. So a writer has to face many things that we can't even imagine.

Tried giving you a writer's POV. Hope that explanation satisfies you.

About the rest of your comment, I second that.

Thank you for dropping in.

A good story means a good story line ,strong characters be it anyone not only maaneet !!It is sad to see writer getting criticised because they dare to write something different !! Why dont ppl understand simple thing "if u dont like it dont read it " simple !! If I dont find story interesting I stop reading I dont discourage writers!! Why discourages writers definitely if they are writing so they have everything in mind how to move story forward !! why demand romance MG always ??
If u want u urself write romantic story on them !!sometimes as a reader I too get frustrated seeing the comment like why Maaneet isn't together plz show some romance even if story doesn't required it !!
Yes Why ppl use this kind of slang wh*** n sl** for a girl this easily?? When on the other hand they demand forgiveness for maan even after he brutally rape geet ?? I myself seen comments like "geet bhao ku kha rhi sahi h hogae galti she should forgive him ppl do change take it as fictional." Maan do one night stand so girls are desperate for him n he is hot! If geet do one night stand so she is sl** n wh*** n desperate wah bhai !! Then where ur fictional rant goes when geet showed as grey shaded do accept characters as the story line don't be judgemental n go on hating writers for writing different story n geet's character in different way !Agree when we can accept maan's character in different shades so why not geet??
Do criticizes but please be polite not every story n character is perfect but they required healthy criticism not an abusive language for characters or even writer's which lead to writers leaving Geet forum or shifting their work on blog n even worse discontinued on story thread !it is heartbreaking for readers like me to see any story get discontinued or incomplete !!
If u r reading some story n liking it plz hit like button do leave ur feedback it encourages write to write more !! We should thank them because even after being in such a tight schedule they took time to write just for us so that we get to see good update !!

Hey Rims. Thank you posting your views.

Well reading a lovestory with recylced romantic scenes have gone a bit boring I guess, for me at least. As you said it's not necessary that every story should be only filled romance. In fact I didnt even miss MG in the psychological thriller "till human voices wake us" Not even once I felt that oh there are hardly any MG scenes cos I was completely enjoying reading about the investigation and case solving scenes.

So a feel should be brought in one update according to the need of story or scene and not cos it is MG. It sometimes can look forced if MG start kissing out of the blue.

I love reading on different concepts and genres cos it offers something new always. It makes me have different opinions and they make me grow more when I think deep about it. So don't feel any need to discourage one writer.

@Bold: 😆 😆
Couldn't stop giggling at that.

Rims if you and I feel disheartened when we see a story being discontinued. Can you imagine how a writer must be feeling when she is forced to quit it? After all she did give her time in writing it.

Readers need to think about it really.

and even the famous ones have to shake their readers to get their attention

but not all readers are sleeping out here few of them are really loyal and love gf who responds to every such post...

No did not read Two Brothers. As I said, I hardly come in the forum. And when I do and if a title grabs my attention and prologue and CS is good, I do give it a try. This week when I came to the forum got 3 new stories from three different writers whose story I was reading for the first time. So this is the way I spend my time. Sometimes, I don't even reach page 2 cos I get a new story on pg 1 itself. Many a times it has happened.

But since you have mentioned about two brothers, I will search for the link and try reading it.

Btw it is good to see a writer suggesting another writer's work to me.

Okay, now coming to the topic that I have made... Again read with an open mind guys please.

I have always seen people opening new threads with different ideas to keep the forum active. Some by asking readers favorite story, some with games thread, some on slambook, some on discussing their favorite scene from their fave FF, or topic related to our show, etc etc. So I thought why not even I try a hand at it?

But... My topic is completely different. It's actually on what I have observed happening on this forum for over almost 2 years now. On threads of stories. Basically, readers thoughts. Or even writer's stories for that matter. I know you all must be confuse about what exactly I am trying to say. So I guess I will explain it by giving some examples.

Like...

1) Why in starting of every FF likes and comments are far too less but once the story pick up the pace, readers start pouring in, liking and commenting? They obviously read all the updates on time but simply refuse to comment on it until it starts going according to their taste. So again, is it fair that a writer never gets appreciated right from the start and recieve it in the miidle of the story? *I am not talking about those who start a story quite later* And yes, readers again disappear and appear back as per their choice making a writer feel they are losing the track or probably boring their readers. Why can't a reader stick with the writer throughout the story rather than making frequent visits on thread to give comments as if they are doing some favor on the writer by reading their stories and commenting?

2) Why can't we accept subplots and side characters scenes in an update and only demand for MG? It not only makes the writer lose interest in their own story when readers only demand for MG scenes but even readers get bore reading the same recycled stuff in different threads by different writers on their favorite couple MG. There is always a reason why subplots or side characters are introduced. They help us get MG together. Be it if they are villains, vamps or any positive character for that matter. So why complain when a writer is trying to build the story. Being little patient and supportive won't hurt much now, will it?

3) Why readers only comment on MG scenes when a writer has done equal hard work in giving you scenes of other characters who in turn are means and ways to get MG together?

Don't you guys think that a writer deserves appreciation on the whole update rather than only on the scenes they write on MG?

Do answer my questions guys because o really want to know the reasons behind it.

The main thing comes now for I have opened this topic for.

4) Writers as well readers are fine when Maan is shown as a Casanova, married to other character, having kids, sleeping around with any random chick (cos of some dark past where he is being cheated by Sameera or used by her) or simply cos he lust after girls and loves to be a playboy and has physical desires or simply need his "release".

Readers have even accepted a Maan who has cheated on Geet, Raped Geet, Abused Geet, Beaten Geet, Tortured Geet (mentally physically and emotionally) in marriage, moving on from Geet.

Readers have as well accepted Maan as a Criminal (be it a Don, Gangster, Killer, Drug dealer, Pimp), Psycho, Obsessed lover, King having tons of mistress when he is shown married, Ruthless, Heartless, Werewolf, Vampire, etc etc

In short, Maan is accepted and later even loved in every avatar a writer had wanted to portray him as. I mean if a "rapist" Maan can be forgiven, accepted and loved in the name of dark story then other Maan(s) that I have mentioned in the above list is nothing. They have welcomed every type of Maan in different genre and have always kept an open mind towards him taking is as a MERE STORY as in a FICTION.

But... rules are different when it came to Geet's character. And unfortunately, in this not only readers who shy away to read a different Geet other than their usual timid, fragile, innocent, unaware of the outer world, naive, damsel in distress Geet, but even writers shy away to experiment with her character. Why?

When we can possess such a BIG heart to write and accept a rapist Maan then why can't we accept Geet who is modern, independent, strong, bold, parties, dates, in a grey shaded character, heartless, cheats, moves on from Maan, has one night stand willingly, sleeping with her own husband who is NOT Maan, is an escort in the name of same dark story or creativity?

If we can show Maan dating women and sleeping with them before marriage in the name of his first love then why are we so shallow minded when the same thing is done for Geet by few writers?

Why Maan's sleeping around makes people give him cool names as a Casanova, Playboy, Charmer, Dude, Unique, Stylist, Having a Personality? He get tags like 'Girls are throwing themselves at him' or 'He is the best thing that happened to womanhood'

But same actions done by Geet makes her a wh**e, s**t, characterless, bitch and what not. Readers bash Geet as well the writer for giving such a bold Geet. They call Geet unethical, immoral, with no values and virtues and all types of gyan comes pouring in by few readers.

So again isn't it unfair that when a reader allows writer to take liberty with Maan's character the same is denied to few writers who wants to experiment with Geet's character as well for a change and offer something new to the readers? Why are we so judgemental towards Geet and so biased and partial towards Maan?

Why the tag "it's a mere fiction" is snatched away by those few writers who try something different with Geet's character? If writing a rapist and Playboy Maan is fiction then, how come giving a Geet who has affair with guys other than Maan is considered as non fiction?

And I can give examples, like I came across a story where MG were lovers, Maan has to go away to make his career leaving no contacts behind for Geet, behind him Geet falls pregnant with his children and her parents disown her. She literally starts to beg as she was thrown out of the house with no bag, books or her certificates and no friend willing to take her. A new character enters name Karan who sees Geet begging and talks to her, after coming to know her story he willingly offers a help. Geet stays in house and the guy was literally an angel who not only gave her a roof, clothes, food but also took her to regular check ups and finally falls for her. Geet receives a letter from Maan with his ring breaking off the relationship (which was done by his relative I guess to separate MG but Geet ends up believing it cos of the ring was exactly same that she she gave to Maan) So she finally moves on and marries Karan feeling obliged receiving his support and compassion but most imimportantly he genuinely loved Geet. After 4 years Maan returns and seeing Geet married he wants revenge and starts torturing Geet. He also comes to know about the twins being his kids and starts threatening Geet. He was shown a complete grey character.

But the sad part wasn't that most of the readers supported Maan in his revenge but it was the fact that they refused to understand under what circumstances Geet married Karan. They refused to see it was cos of Karan that Maan's Geet and twins were alive else she would have been dead starving. Mostly they bashed Geet left right center for sleeping with her OWN legal husband. So much that they started bashing the writer for giving a Geet who could move on with someone else and it went to the point that they started sending the writer "hate pms". It went so extreme that the writer eventually had to discontinue the story by posting a short summary of how MG came together.

Reading that short summary had literally made me angry that time cos the story had potential. Besides, it was something different that I was reading about Geet than the usual innocent Geet I had read in this forum. Of course then I didn't exactly know the reason of discontinuation but recently I got to know it from the writer herself when she shared one of the most worst experience on Geet Forum.

Her recieving hate pms actually baffled me. I mean, come on how can readers show such rage towards a writer just cos she tried something different?

Have any writer faced this when they showed Maan as rapist (which is the unforgivable crime ever in my eyes, doesnt matter if he committed while drunk) I can't even stand a rapist Maan in the name of dark genre cos for me one cannot redeem himself from it. Yet readers have been acceptable. Further wishing to see Geet forgetting the night, forgiving Maan, accepting him and finally even falling in a love with her rapist.

So my point is when in the name of fiction a Rapist Maan can be accepted and loved then why did readers reacted extremely when a writer just showed Geet moving on with another guy willingly? Was it fair to bash the writer?

Another example..

There is another story where Geet was a grey character, heartless, ruthless, breaks engagement with Maan for her selfish reasons. Later she gets into an accident, suffers amnesia; whereas Maan still continued to love her. When after a year they met Maan is the selfles guy who helped Geet recover.

However, the response the writer got in this story was different. People obviously hated Geet. But surprising factor was few wished to see Maan moving on. Few in fact hated that MG were in a sexual relationship cos most of the readers felt Geet was undeserving of Maan. And no doubt she was bashed left right center by all (including me)

So you see the difference in response?

Where readers demanded Maan to move on in one story in other they bashed Geet for the same.

Next example is different..

A writer, whose stories I don't follow but I do get to see links on my FB, tried showing a bold and ruthless Geet. Im guessing the response wasn't positive cos the writer shifted the entire story to her blog. And just few days ago I saw that story reaching it's double century. Can you believe it? 200 parts? But the sad part is the story was on blog and NOT on this forum. So whose loss it is?

Readers as well as Geet Forum. Cos it is obvious the story is a superhit if it touches 200 parts. Can you guys imagine what would have been had the story been posted on this forum rather than on a blog? It would not only have given the readers a story to read but it would have also helped this forum remain active. I can't even imagine how many threads this story would have seen.

I am not saying it is compulsory that the readers should read all stories and comment on all that is been posted in this forum. I myself don't read every writer's story. However don't bash a writer when she tries something different with Geet's character. You don't like bold Geet don't read such story, like I don't like a rapist Maan so I ignore such stories or stop reading them when the rape scenes comes later in the story.

Literally forcing a writer to quit her own story is the worst reward a reader gives the writer.

And you guys won't believe, if the writer has got bashed for giving a Geet who moves on in her life. Then she is now being requested that she show Geet and Maan coming together quite sooner rather than later when she is already shown married to other guy. Geet being attracted to Maan when already married doesn't make her a cheater but Geet moving on from Maan when he has himself left her, does? We ship our favorite couple in such a biased way? If the same thing done by Geet in this story doesn't make her a cheater and we can accept her being attracted to Maan when already married, why few readers call her a wh**e when she moves on or has a BF with whom she is in a physical relationship?

Why the contradictory thoughts again?

And then the same writer was requested to show MG ending up together when Maan has cheated on Geet in a marriage of 10 years with two kids not once but thrice. And trust me, he wasn't even regretting his actions one bit until he was caught red handed by Geet on their wedding anniversary. The readers requested not to show Geet divorcing him cos apparently they had kids btw them. And parents divorcing leaves an impact on children' mind.

So again weren't kids there in the story where Geet has moved on with Karan? Nobody thought about the kids in that story. Why? Everybody cared about Maan and bashed Geet and forced the writer to abruptly end the story whereas the readers were fine with a cheater Maan. So again contradictory thoughts?

5) If Dev, Arjun, Rahul etc are shown as raping Geet or as abusing Geet in a marriage; readers gets angry and demand and force the writer to get her divorce the character. They want a rapist Dev behind bars. However, no one demands the same punishment for Maan. Why? Just cos he the lead? Again contradictory thoughts?

So in short, whatever Maan does is allowed and accepted by readers. But the same thing done by other male character and we want to kill them.

6) And this is the most important question I want to ask. Why are we all so OBSESSED with Geet's VIRGINITY?

I have seen readers asking question if she is virgin if a writer shows her in love and in relationship with other character. I want to ask has anybody so far ever asked the same question for Maan?

In fact, I remember asking a writer a year back that why it is that in all stories of her Maan has a past with a girl and he is even shown having intimate relationship with her although his family is shown traditional, but Geet is never been shown in love with other guy other than Maan. Why?

Her answer was cos she is a die hard MG fan. And I was confused. If someone is MG fan then I suppose they wouldn't show both of them in love or in relationship with anyone. So the reply I got was definitely biased. The writer can keep an open mind for Maan but not for Geet?

Why?

I know after reading this post now most of you all must be wanting to probably kill me. But I didn't make this thread to target anyone. I have written on whatever I have observed over two years of staying in this forum. I don't read on any other couple so I dont know if the same happens in other forum as well or not. I am genuinely confused and wanted answers. And of course who better than the forumwasis explain it to me.

At the end, I would say to each his own. But yes, I will also request you guys to be really open minded towards Geet's character as well. And if not then atleast don't pull those writers down who wants to write different Geet.

I am sorry if my post has offended anyone out there cos I didnt mean to. My intention was clear. I wanted we to have gender equality in our forum. Dont be biased just cos the character commiting sins happen to be Maan. And dont be so harsh on a female character. After all I believe we are mostly girls or married women in this forum. So if we ourselves judge another woman so harshly and accept all injustice done by men on woman character then I feel we all need to grow up. We should support another woman rather than calling her names even if it is a mere fiction.

Thank you for reading this post. All I request is drop in your views cos I would love to read what GFians think. Hope to discuss this topic and again please have an open mind about this please.

you give advise but u are not following i dont want to rgue what ever u wrote is right but u never commented when i wrote on ghsp family first time though u yourself wrote there and u comented each and every updates except mine one so i dont belive u didnt read it bt u kept silent, to be frank i donmt know u alsoi i started to know u from ghsp family ff , so it is easy to give advice but difficult to follow in own life, i wrote first time, and then i had realised people are only prasing few writers and only coment on them they dont wants new writer to write stories, i am not offended as even if one person dont read i dont care i wrote for my setisfection and non gf members had apreciated my writing in personal message as they dont belongs to anyforum and not reading this stories only i ask their opnion and they encourage me, though i am not type of person keep grudge on person, there are some writers i comment regularly even they dont reply for my quetions i see them as an person who are contributing somthing for some one not like who dont give anything but needs everything...so one thing i had realised tunde tunde mati bhinna...every human is diffrant and one cant force them to do things onecan request but cant force and one thing in real i think there are not many reader lefts for mg forums, for ex ghsp family ff came to drastic end as there are no readers ,or very very few readers left ,then also i gave update for my satisfection that we started somthing then accept chalanges and finish it dont live halfway...and i wrote it though the previous update has killed the very well layed plot but it is challange for writers or any newbie to explore their creatibvity and it is fun, on straight road it is very easy to drive but patchy road needs patient and if tthat patient if readers and writers bith shows they can come up with amazing product team work is very important in everyday life as well as in this forum also.thanks- and sorry if i had hurt anybodies feelings-and sory for mistakes as i havent edited this.
and about maan being ruthless ,and in anyform accepted by readers but not geet why...
then let me tell u one thing go back to history, our culture man can keep many women, they can have mistress ,they can get marry after women die but women should be always pure and pavitra and sanskari as as per our culture women is the main pionear of our kutumb system, our religion, sghe is giving good morals and athicks to children and follow all religious rituals, she is the one call as mother who has big contribution to keep family respect intect, and our socity, not only of hindu, but even western socity will not alove prostitute to be wife and mother of chldren and family, it is our socity's perception towards women, and no body will acept charecterless women to marry and expanding their family avalues and morals, where as man used to count main bread earner of socity if he do somthing wriong he will not become pregnant, so no body will know his wrong doing, and if he keeps many women his ego increases and he is called real macho man, his all crime forgivable, he can hit women, rape women, marital rape all things happening behind doors but men is not at fault in all condition women is ar fault and to change that perception we need to change socity's percewption towards women, and to be frank women is bugestenemy of women and she will be the first one who will throw out slirt women from their house.

I understand and agree with your POV, I just meant once in a while a writer - rrader interaction would only strengthen the bond... it will make readers realise that they need to be accountable...and it will boost the response. The problem arises when either of concerned party refuse to think from other's POV. If both reader and writer think from each other's POV keeping aside their egos, then I'm sure this matter can be resolved easily!

And for "tehelka.com" Google it darling, you'll know all about it. Just so you know, the tehelka.com fiasco had brought aneearthquake in Indian politics mainly. 😆

Firstly thank you for such an awesome post..
It was really needed in this forum for the silent and biased readers to actually understand a writer's perspective too...

About like and comment I like seriously dont know what to say...
When the writer's threat the readers about shifting the story to the blog or making the blog private then automatically likes and comments increases to an extent that at times its just double of the present like and comments and it's actually quite shocking to see that soo many readers out there are reading the story but still they can't take out few minutes to comment...

And about being biased between maan and geet it will be wrong on my part to say that I have not been partial towards maan but not always...

I really have forgiven maan at times even if he has done something very offensive like raping geet or manhandling her or for being a Casanova and sleeping around BUT only when the writer's have shown him truly repenting for the deeds that he has done in the past and is truly in love with geet and is wanting to do anything and everything so that he gets forgiven by geet and promises to keeps geet happy always...

But yes when in a story maan has done or is doing wrong with geet and is no where to realise his mistakes then he has been bashed by me a lot...
In this case am not partial when he thinks only of himself and treats geet like she is just nothing in his life and I do hate him at that point of time...
And it's not like every time I want maan to be forgiven for his deeds, I only want it if geet is also willing to do it but ya when maan is shown that he is truly sorry and is in pain then I want geet to at least clear consider it...

If geet has been shown selfish, arrogant and the one who is just using maan then I have bashed her character too but also when she realises her mistakes and is willing to rectify it then I have supported her too...

Basically I want both maan and geet to get a second chance only when I feel they truly deserve it...
But yes there are some stories where I have hated or even hating maan from the core of my heart and I want to geet to move on from him for her own good but I hardly remember any story when I would be wanting maan to move on from geet [excpet in the middle of some stories when geet is shown to be too full of herself only and is shown that she doesn't care for maan a bit]

In almost every story we get to see a new maan and but the experiments done to geets character is very less in comparison to the experiments done to maan's character soo may be coz as you said people really start bashing geet's character or say not able to accept geet to be like a grey shaded character or something like that...

But yes there are some writers who experiments a lot with both the characters and I love reading those stories too...
