Maan took geet to her room while she just followed silently, too tired to say anything. He made her lay on bed and tucked her in sheets and closed off the lights leaving her to sleep peacefully. "geet you are ok right??? You don't need anything else???" he asked to still affirm about her comfortableness!!!
She meekly nodded and closed her eyes, way too tired to say anything now. It was already a long day for her and she didn't had in her to throw tantrums now. He too went in his room to declare it a day but then he received a call from adi telling about some financial matters which he needed to look today itself.
Thus he instead went back to his study to look into those issues, realizing he had only piled up his work in these days, exaggerating the issues which could have been sold before. He worked continuously for 3-4 hours when he finally felt his body tensed and tired, declaring he need sleep too now.
He was passing through the corridor where geet's room was. He thought he should check her once before going to bed. But then as he held her door's handle, he realized he was stepping into a girl's room at 2 in night, and immediately stopped. After all it was totally outrageous thing to do when the girl is totally stranger.
He decided to let the idea fall and go but then if she is not ok then??? He thought for a moment about that when suddenly he felt he heard some metal falling sound from inside her room. He thought he had imagined, but then he was pretty sure he did heard something and decided to just peek at her and check.
When he opened the door, he saw the bed was empty. He got worried and moved inside the room and opened the lights, only to find geet sitting balled up near the corner of bed. She looked scared and he could hear her sobbing sound.
He got really worried and moved toward her, tapping her shoulders to catch her attention. She got more scared and cringed back pushing off his hand as her sobbing sound increased. "kya hua geet, ro kyu rhi ho???" he asked worried as he again patted her shoulder. Geet looked at him lifting her head and immediately took a sigh of breath and hugged him by legs, sobbing hard.
He bent down so that he could made her stand on her legs and asked, "kya hua geet, bolo bhi itna kyu ro rhi ho???" he asked now getting seriously irritated due to tiredness and worried seeing her vulnerable condition. She held his hand and sobbed, hiding her face in his shoulder and said, "koi hai wha... geet dar gyiii" she said as she pointed to the French window that led to the balcony in her room.
"accha you calm down, mai dekhta hu!!!" he said as he tried to free his shoulder from her hold, but she kept holding him tight. Sighing he took her with him to look around the balcony but found it totally empty. "geet no one is here, dekho!!!" he said showing her the empty balcony but still she wasn't ready to agree and said, "no geet ne dekha kuch... babaji ki kasam!!!" she said as she pinched her neck.
He shook his head seeing her stubbornness and again glanced to make sure if someone tried to trespass the area but then there was no sign of someone else. "geet nhi hai yaar koi!!! Ab please so jao its already late" he said as he took her back into room but her eyes were frequently scanning the room to check what she saw.
He made her lay on bed and covered her with covers while she again repeated "sachii geet ne dekha... geet jhuth nhi boltii" but he didn't heard any of her and closed the lights. Geet got scared with the closed lights and immediately digged her face under her blanket... then after a moment peeked out from corner a bit and glanced at the balcony door and said, "wo dekhoo bhoot!!! Bhagoshe shouted and maan had to close the door to stop her echo reach downstairs or sure she would have woken up some servant.
"kha hai bhoot!!! Bhoot jaisa kuch nhi hota geet" he said irritated now but then she pointed at the door and he opened the lights to only see the curtains which were flowing in the wind coming from balcony.
"see geet no bhoot is over there, they are just curtains... now sleep" he said trying to make her understand but she nodded in refusal, confirmed that there was some ghost to eat her over. Maan closed the lights and started to go back when she again called for him to not go.
"geet kuch nhi hai!!! You better sleep now am not staying here more but she just refused to listen. Soon her eyes were filled with tears making pull his hairs now. His insides just wanted her to give a pill and doze her off to sleep, but then doctor had clearly refused for any sleeping pill until the situation is worse or she would get used too of sleeping with their help.
Maan calm down!!! Just few days... then she will get better!! Just few days... he tried to make himself remember so that he could tolerate all her obstination as he was very week at that. He went and sat beside her bed and said, "ok sleep, I will don't let any ghost near you!!!" while she still looked at him unsure.
"ok your promise!!!" he said pinching his neck making her smile and she closed her eyes, thinking he will protect her from ghost. He was about to go back when she immediately opened her eyes and asked, "umm pakka na bhoot bhag jayega!!!??"
He nodded in yes and sat back while she slept peacefully. He felt his eyes were turning heavy and his muscles were paining badly, but still he kept shaking off his head to remove the sleep. After he was sure that she was in deep sleep, he got up, and walked with light footsteps out of the room, making sure to not disturb her sleep and went back in his room as he fell in thud on the mattress, for the first time forgetting to say good night to the picture that was laying on his bedside.
