Chapter One
In the city of Mount Abu, Rajasthan
Handa Infotech was a huge, corporate 12 storied office building situated right in the middle of the town. A beautiful young girl around 2o yrs old was coming out of the large door, escorted carefully by two female security guards. Dressed in a jacket, jeans and mittens, she looked an epitome of beauty. She was Geet Handa, a princess and only daughter of His Royal Highness Mohinder Handa. The family consisted of parents and their daughter, others were the old and new servants who worked in the estate. Handa palace was a grand heritage structure. It was counted among the most beautiful palaces in the world.
Gopalsingh was standing outside the large black limo. As geet came, he helped her inside the car and handed over the huge quilt. Geet was unable to have proper meals since three days due to work pressure. She had thrown up around 4 times since morning, feeling very weak right now. Her face held a haze of weariness, dark circles had formed under her eyes. Resting her head on the pillow, she fell deeply asleep. The limo was on its way, it was winter so the visibility levels were quite low. After half an hour, the car screeched to a halt. Geet opened her eyes due to the jerk. Gopalsingh was standing outside, fiddling about with the bonnet.
He came around and geet opened the window glass. "Kya hua kaka?" She asked him groggily. "Pata nai beta, shayad engine jam ho gai hai. Aap yaha araam kariye, hum garage par se mechanic lekar aate hain." "Jee, thik hai kaka." Saying so, geet again laid down as Kaka instructed the security to look after her properly and left to fetch the mechanic. It was already 7:30 in the evening. A fog was falling around, darkness was slowly seeping in. The limo was parked at the hilly highway, which was quite near to the forest. This was the time when wild animals usually prowled around for their hunt. The security gathered around geet's limo armed with rifles and firearms to fend off any dangerous beasts. Making a bonfire, the girls sat down warming themselves. Heater was warming the princess comfortably inside her car.
The garage was situated about 15 kilometers away from where the people were waiting. Gopalsingh was an old man, his age was 52+. So he was taking quite a long time to reach there on foot. Meanwhile, another limo was coming the same way. It stopped seeing the bonfire. The chauffeur came out and held the backdoor open for his master. Putting one foot outside, a man stepped out. He was tall and well built. Wearing dark sunglasses over his eyes, he walked over where the girls sat and greeted them with a smile. The guards instantly got up and told him why they were here. Hearing that the princess was inside the car, he felt elated. By then a cold wind had started blowing and the fire was going out. Seeing the guards worried for Gopal Kaka, the man instructed them to go to the garage and get him back while he took the princess home. Agreeing to his advice, the girls got into the second car and drove off towards the garage. They had already handed over the car keys to him before leaving.
Meanwhile, inside Handa Palace!
Rano was pacing worriedly in the large hall. Their maid lachhi was laying the dinner table. Mohinder was continously trying to reach Gopalsingh and the guards on phone, but no use. He even tried his darling's mobile, but it was out of reach. Still, he was calm and trying to tune in the network, but Mama dearest was clucking around impatiently.
Rano: Kya hua mohi, phn kyu nai lag rha hae? Meri bachi waise hi kitni bimar hai upar se aaj bhi usko office bej diya. Aaram kar ne dete to kuch ho jata kya?
Mohinder: Rano, maine geet ko zabardsti off. mei nai bheja tha. Wo to bas pending kaam khatam karna chati thi. She went herself jab ki maine kitna samjhaya. Aur lady guards hai na uski sath, pareshan kyu ho? Abi to 8:30 baj rae hai, aa jayegi.
Rano was astounded to see her weird husband. He was a father, but still so indifferent, like he hardly cared for his daughter. She cud not stay quiet any longer and blasted on him.
Rano: Meri samaj mei nai ata aap pita ho ya mazak kar te ho. Jawan beti itni raat mei ghar se bahar hai, par aap ko kuch farq nai parta. At least phn to karo, pucho gopalsingh se kaha hai wo log. Hey Babaji! Kaisa pati diya hai muje! She cribbed looking at babaji's portrait.
Mohinder: Calm down rano. Mai geet ka baap hu aur muje vi meri beti ki chinta hai. Agar wo adhe ghante mei nai aayi to hum khud car lekar niklenge, thik hai? He tried to comfort his angry wife.
Rano nodded her head and sat on the couch. Just then, the landline phn rang. Lachhi picked it up, a manly voice asked for Rano. She called out to her malkin.
Lachhi: Ma'am, aap ke liye phn aaya hai. Wo bade sahib ka. Kya bolu?
Rano went and took the receiver. Prince was on the other side. He greeted her.
Prince: Good evening aunty. Kaisi hai aap?
Rano: Good evening betaji. Wo hamari geet avi tak ghar nai pahuchi. Hum log usko search karne jaa rahe hai.
Prince: Dariye nai aunty. Geet meri car mei hai. Actually maine jungle road mei aap ki limo dekhi. Gopalsinghji garage se late aa rahe thae to maine guards ko bol kar geet ko apni car mei bitha liya. Uski tabiyat thik nai hai. Mai usko palace lekar jaa raha hun. Pls uncle ko bi keh dijiye.
Rano was instantly relieved to hear that. She said all right and hung up the phone. Mohinder was surprised to see her behavior.
Mohinder: Kya hua rano? Kis ka phone tha?
Rano: Maan puttar ka phone tha. Geet usko wood road pe mili wo usko Khurana Palace le gaya hai.
Mohinder: Thank God! Kam se kam humari guddi safe to hai. Ab to khana kha lo yaar. Hum kal subah geet se milne chalenge.
Rano: Sahi kaha aap ne. She asked Lachhi and Simi to lay the dinner and went to fresh up for the meal.
On the other side:
The limo stopped outside the enormous Khurana Haveli. Power, respect and royalty were oozing out from every corner. The door opened and Prince Khurana stepped out, carefully cradling his lovely princess in his arms. Walking inside, he took the stairs and called out to his in-charge.
Prince: Pari, idhar aao.
Pari came instantly. "Jee sir?" Tum doctor ko phone karo aur mere bedroom mei aa jao Matron ko lekar. Princess ke kapde change karwane hai. Laundry bag vi leti aana." Maan went in the bedroom after ordering her. Pari had already left to fetch Matron.
Entering the huge bedroom, prince walked ahead and bending over, softly laid the little angel upon the bed right in the middle. Sliding a pillow under her head, he made her comfortable. Then settling down beside his sleeping beauty, he held her little hand and caressed it, drowning into the fathomless ocean of love.
