India Couture Week 2025 witnessed glamour, grandeur, and a fresh batch of celebrity showstoppers, but not without a wave of social media backlash. Bollywood starlets Sara Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor took center stage for two top designers, yet their ramp walks have stirred up quite a storm online, especially on Reddit, where netizens didn't hold back.
Sara turned showstopper for designer Aisha Rao, donning a dreamy rose-gold lehenga that celebrated elements of nature, palm motifs, florals, and delicate embroidery. Her makeup was muted, her hair styled in loose waves, and the look overall was nothing short of magical. But it was her walk that missed the mark for many. Several Reddit users mocked her "over-the-top expressions" and exaggerated movements, with one user commenting, "Who's hiring her to walk like this? Too many thumkas, not enough grace." Another remarked, "She looks like she's doing a movie scene, not walking a ramp."

While the ensemble had a bold futuristic flair, Khushi's lack of energy was what drew criticism. Reddit threads exploded with comments like "She looks so bored, it's giving 'uncle with arthritis walking in the park' vibes," and "This is zombie walking 101."
The trolling didn't stop there. The age-old debate over Bollywood stars replacing professional models at fashion events reignited once again. Many netizens were quick to label the actresses as "nepo babies with no ramp sense," calling for fashion weeks to go back to trained models who understand the art of walking.
India Couture Week, known for blending cinema and fashion, often ropes in stars to boost visibility, but it appears not everyone is pleased with the trend. While celebrity power may draw crowds, their runway performance is under more scrutiny than ever.
