Chapter 15

He was about to enter his room, when he heard Veer asking Geet, "Mom, will they come back to get me?"

"No, baby." Said Geet and pulled him closer to her, hugging him. "They won't come back."

"But what if they do? I'm scared." His voice quivered and eyes started watering, as he looked at Geet.

"No, buddy." Maan entered the room and proceeded to the bed and sat down next to them, "No one is coming. I won't let them come anywhere close to you, okay?" he asked Veer and picked him up and sat him on his lap like a baby.

Veer nodded innocently at his father and Maan wiped away all the tears. "You don't have to be scared. I'm here and I will always protect you." And Maan gave him a reassuring hug. While looked at them lovingly.

He looked over Geet's shoulder to see if they both had their milk, he had earlier sent for them. Pleased to see the empty glasses, he decided it was time to sleep. "Common now, Mr. Veer Singh Khurana, let's get you to bed."

"No..." Veer pouted.

"Why? You don't wanna sleep?"

"I want to sleep here, with mumma and you. Can I?" He looked at his parents pleadingly, especially his mother.

He knew Veer and Geet needed each other right now, and he too needed it, to make sure his son was right here, next to him. "Sure you can, but I get to sleep next to Mumma." Maan said with a mischief, he wanted to make them smile, and divert their mind.

"No, I want to sleep next to mumma." Came Veer's quick respond.

"Why? No, I will."

"But you always get to sleep next to her. It's my turn now." and he got up from Maan's lap and went to Geet's, "Right, Mom?" Geet blushed and nodded at Veer.

"Fine, lets ask your mumma who she wants to sleep next to." They both turned to her and Maan winked at her, making her blush even more.

"Bolo na mumma."

"hmmm... I want Veer next to me." And kissed his cheek.

"Yay...!"

"Awe Man! That's not fair." And he sulked like a little kid, making Geet and Veer giggle.

"Okay. How about you both sleep next to me, one on each side?"

"Yay...!" Maan mimicked Veer reaction.

All 3 of them were tired and they lay down on bed. Geet was cradling Veer lovingly. While Maan held both of them close to him. After a few minutes, Veer fell asleep, feeling safe with his parents. They were able to sleep, only after making sure that Veer was comfortable and sleeping peacefully.

It was almost afternoon when maan heard his phone buzzing. He lazily opened his eyes, but realized that Geet and Veer are still asleep, so he quickly answered the phone and walked out of the room.

It was jay calling maan. He wanted to know how the kids and Geet were doing, plus he wanted to inform him about the updates on the case. He told Maan that they were able to catch Dev's men and that he was personally going to make sure they suffered for their wrong doings. Maan was pleased to know about it. He told Jay that he wanted to see them rot behind the bars for the rest of their lives. He was going to make sure they pay for playing with the life of Maan Singh Khurana's Son. He also added that Jay needs to investigate and collect evidence of Dev's other illegal activities. He was not going to forgive Dev for this grave mistake.

He disconnected the phone and started walking down the stair to go to the kitchen. He saw that Daadi was already awake and drinking her afternoon tea. The kids were also playing close to her. Looked like Yash was annoying her and she tried to catch but he was too quick for her. He was so glad to see his family happy again. They were his live.

"Good morning, Daadi" Maan greeted her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Good Afternoon, bete." She corrected him and he scratched the back of his head and wished her good afternoon.

"Daadi what would you like to eat? I'm making breakfast today." He stated proudly. "I mean lunch." He corrected himself quickly and Daadi smiled.

"I will eat anything you make." But Yash came running to his father after he saw him and heard the word food.

"I want yummy pancakes." And pounced on maan and he was quick to change him.

"You got it, champ." And started walking toward the kitchen. He picked Aryaan up from his playing pen and took him too. He placed him on his chair and started with making pancakes first.

After 2 hours, his food was ready and Geet still wasn't down, so he decided to take the food in the bedroom for them. He walked in to the bedroom, with a sleepy Aryaan, and saw that Geet was already up and getting ready in the bathroom. He told the servant to place to food tray on the table and to leave. He walked over to where Veer was sleeping and saw that he was sweating and shaking in his sleep. Maan quickly placed his hands on his face to check for his temperature, but he didn't have any fever and he also stopped shaking.
