Part 61
"Geet you have to come to me and I'll do this for sure!!!' he shouted but till Geet had already gone. But for his surprise she peeped in from door,
"I will not Maan and you will see it!!!''
"You will have to!! Geet I will not eat or drink anything until you come to me, until I see your face not a drop of water I'll touch and that's Maan Singh Khurana promise to you!!'' But Geet had gone before could hear his vow.
Geet was running looking behind and at once jumped back when Dadi appeared from front.
"Relax Beta!''
'What's this!!'' SD shocked to see paper-cutter which was by mistake was being pointed toward SD. Geet bit her tongue and moves hands to back, hides it.
"Nothing Dadima wo paper-cutter hai!!'
"That I know Geet. I'm asking what you are doing with it!'
"Wo .. I was cutting vegetables''
'What!! You are using it for vegetables??'' SD was super shocked and Geet was embarrassed.
"Um haa!! Wo I couldn't find knife so thought to use it! Dadima I have to rush in kitchen I'm going bye!!'' She runs away from there before Dadi could ask next question.
"ye larki bhi na' She shook head and left.

"What to do, how to make Geet come to me'', Maan was very seriously thinking when Nakul came with juice glass. He was going to leave when Maan stopped him and said to send Geet up that he was not getting his medicines. Nakul nodded and left.
Maan very impatiently was waiting for her, peeping out from door when heard some footsteps on stairs. Hurriedly he rushed to bed and acted like sleeping.
He heard those steps were coming to him and then felt soft caresses in his hair. He smiled.
"Maan Beta how are you feeling!!''
Instantly he opened eyes in shock and found it was Dadi.
"I'm better Dadima!'' He spoke being so upset. Dadi gave him his medicines but Maan said he will eat it after sometime as right now wants to sleep. She nodded and left, letting him to rest.

Dadima how is he?'' Geet who was impatiently waiting for Dadi, runs to her and asked.
"He is fine Beta, sleeping. Don't worry I have given him his medicines''
Geet felt better after hearing this. The time Nakul told Geet about Maan, Dadi was right there and she stopped Geet to go and her-self went to him.

It became night, had been passed many hours that Maan did not see Geet. He was resting in room when Dadi comes with some light snacks. Maan said he is not feeling like eat anything and refused. She looked around for nurse but couldn't find. First she thought her may be in her room but then asked,
"Maan where is she?''
"She is gone Dadi! Now I felt I didn't need her support in fact I don't need of anyone help!'
SD felt something different in his voice but did not ask thinking might it was effect of his illness, couldn't guess out it could be reason of Geet. She left after some time again making him remember about snacks.
Maan eyes were again and again travelling toward door to have even a glimpse of Geet but she did not come.
"This much you're angry with me Geet that now would not come even to see me! ' His heart was calling her name and eyes were refusing to blink even in wait of her.
After about 30 minutes Nakul came to bring tray back. He surprised to see it full that not even a smallest bite would have been taken from plate. Here Maan was reading some office file.
"Maan sir, you should take rest, office work can be done later also' scaring he said but become quite when got a glare from Maan. He turned to go back when Maan stopped him. He wrote a note for Geet,
"Geet I'm sorry, please come back I can't live without seeing you. I had decided, I will not take even a drop of water or anything till you don't feed me but now it feel like that your distance will take my life away more before I die by itself''
And told him to give her. Nakul nodded and left.
Nakul, did Maan eat?' Geet was impatiently waiting for Nakul and when he nodded no, she felt like crying. She knew how stubborn he was but why was risking with his own health, she wandered.
Dadi called Nakul. He had to go so kept note in tray saying her to read it but Geet was lost in her own thought, did not hear his voice.
"His health would be affected badly like this! I think I should go and talk to him'' She decided to check him once but before could proceed; Nakul came back and told to set dinner table. Hurriedly she adjusted dinner table till SD comes. She served her.
"Geet sit Beta have your dinner'
"Nhai wo Maan..'
"Maan have just taken snacks Geet, I myself had gone to see him. I think he would have been slept till now. You do your dinner first then can go okay!'
"But Maan hasn't taken anything!'' Geet thought but did not want to voice it out otherwise Dadi will become worried too. She did not feel like to tell Dadi anything more about her and Maan fight and so started waiting for dinner to be finished. Unwillingly she took few bites that too on force of Dadi and as soon SD finished and left in her room, Geet runs in kitchen and started to fill a plate for Maan. As she picked up tray got his note and his words took her breathes away. Her heart started crying and she felt like to kill herself, punish herself for doing this with her Maan.
"Babaji will never forgive you Geet!!' her mind chided.
"I wish!! I need his punishment, I need it!!!'' Her heart answered back filled with sobs.
Without doing any delay she took the tray and rushed to Maan room and walked in. she found it was dark there as lights were not been on, but she wandered 'why'
"Maan!' she called in dark but did not get back any reply. Her heart started beating fast in unexpected. But then she heard the soft sounds of his calm breathe. She closed her eyes to feel peace and stepped to him.
Though it was dark there but a natural source from outside through opened window was illuminating some areas of his room. In moonlight Geet could see his face and found, his sleeping but his face was not relaxed as she had imagined it to be. Few lines of worries were visible on his forehead. She kept food on table and come to sit near him.
"Maan!' She touched his forehead and found it was warm. "Babaji!'' she became worried. Guilt was killing her all inside. "I should call Dadima!'' self-talked and rose to stand up when Maan stopped her, hold her hand.
"Again you are going to leave me Geet'' Maan spoke with closed eyes. His voice was slow.
"No Maan I'm not going anywhere'' Geet cried. She kissed his hand everywhere, umpteenth times which healed his restless heart at most. "I'm sorry'' She bent and peaked his forehead.
"Why didn't you take you medicine, you have got fever Maan!! I'm sorry it's all happened because of me. Babaji will never forgive me'' Her tears were wetting his hand. He held her cheek and pulled closer.
"I knew you would come Geet because I know my Geet more than herself. I won!' he smiled.
"Hm' she nodded. ''But I let you win' smiled back.
"I want my reward' He looked to her lips. Geet blushed and bent down to him. He took those lips in him, kissed her with all his love.
After long they parted. Geet made him eat food and then medicines. He kept his head on her lap and Geet rested on bed-rest, caressed his hair. In very little time Maan slept finding solace in her touch. Geet eyes were also feeling heave and she closed it, then suddenly felt a pat on her shoulder.
She saw Dadi was standing there smiling. Before Geet could do something SD gestured her to be quite as Maan would be awake. She raised a milk glass toward Geet and gestured to drink it.
"I know you didn't have your dinner'
Geet smiled and finished whole glass in one goes. She was really feeling hungry.
"Thank you Dadima''
"No thanks Beta, you're taking care of my child, and I'm taking care of his life!'
"Bless you Beta' She blessed Geet caressing her hair and looked Maan, who was appearing in peace. She left leaving them be travelled in their own small world'
