Hi!! This SS was recommended by Avi ... & I'm glad she did so, or else I would've missed on one excellent piece of work here. 😊
I haven't read any of your writings before, but after reading this I was so mesmerised by it all. Each character, their emotions, confusions, pain, love so well described. Even the minutest details incorporated, all lead to a wonderful journey of reading a story so simple yet so close to some kind of fairytale of love & longing.
Loved the poems ... they had so much depth & were very soulful. The continuation of each line of the different poems included by way of giving meaning to them by what M-G felt, expressed & lived through so beautifully woven in brilliant words. The whole sequence of events & transitions depicted were so free flowing & smooth, it felt as if seeing a river flowing unobscured just affirming the fact ... 'still water runs deep'. Your words breathed life into the lines & words of the poems. Also connected it symbolically. Loved it.
Valentines day - A day of love, so aptly & simply presented by you through this SS. Each Valentine day in the 2 years that this story progressed through some way or the other did play an integral & meaningful part in weaving a beautiful paradise for two souls meant to be loved & cherished by the reciprocating partner, by means of just dispelling away the webs of fear, misconceptions, anger, ego, confusions, self inhibitions & thereby bringing into light the strength of love, trust, companionship. Did affirm that Day of love isn't just for lovers but also for any relation bonded by love be it parents-child, between siblings & friends.
The following of some rituals, to it coming true in all senses. The angst of Maan for regretting seeing the fear in his love's eyes for him & not being able to see her laughter caused in his presence, to he being the ultimate reason for all her smiles & happiness. The painful distance created by misconception of having harboured feelings of unrequitted love, to closure of all distances through a kiss of love from the love of your life. Geet's need & dream of having a prince charming in your life & also feeling of left out on not having a special someone who could love you with all your clumsiness & shortcomings, to having someone who was always & will always be there to breathe in life & meaning to each moment of your togetherness by making it special by just their presence and also leading her out from all her confusions & making her understand the meaning of being in love. Loved it all. 😃👏
Specially I loved the refrences made for unrequitted love. How self made beliefs & inhibitions lead to angst & pain in relations. The way of presenting it in form of the song from OSO, was so enchanting & could be felt vibrating in reality not only touching the leads but also to each one reading it somewhere deep down within the corners of the heart & soul.
The symbolism of the picture framed by Maan about being in the shadows , so close yet very far... was so beautiful & it's depth so mesmerisingly painful yet true. The whole confession, courtship, & later culmination into officially announcing to the world the strength & depth of the bond of love between M-G through engagement on the very same day as the day that lead to it all in remembrance was so justified, fairytale like & beautiful...
I so loved it. & am glad I could read it in one shot as I don't think I could survive the wait for knowing what holds in furture for this two souls marred by own follies to accept undying love among them if not for the other couple Jackass & chicken legs ( so liked the closure you gave for this lovely & weirdo couple too ... yes alongwith Chocolate & Butterscotch...😉)
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this SS... and thank you so much Avi 🤗 for recommending this one. You were correct when you stated that I would love this one for sure... 😊
