Part 7

"Maan..." her voice began to shrill in hs ears. He got up with a startling start, only to find her sleepimg next to him like a curled up baby sleeping in the comfort of his mother's presence. He was just imagining her voice. He heaved a sigh of relief! She looked so angelic while sleeping that he didn't want anything to happen to her. He only dreamnt her voice., he was so used to her calling him "Maan..." day in and day out for each and every thing in their life. Be it their fights, their patchups, the dreams they had weaved it together. Or the countless nights they had spent in fear of loosing each other, loosing each other's love and trust. Or simply being worried about each other. Or the first time she had called him "Maan..." in their first meeting or during their days when they were in a contract relationship. A phase that made them realize that they were truly, madly and crazily in love with each other. Or the time when she told him she was pregnant, every moment, every breathtaking moment she had called him "Maan". It made him realize he was truly blessed to have Geet in his life.

Every moment he was around her, it made him realize how he had fallen madly in love with this woman. Every moment, every single moment made him realize that "she" was all that mattered to him.

"Maan..." her voice brought him out of his revere. He found herself sittng next to him helping herself against the headrest.

Maan: "Are tum kab uth gayi Geet?"

Geet: "Jab aap kisi ke bare main soch rahe the na tab. Waise aapko sharam nahi aati kya, bagal main biwi ke rehte huye aap kisi aur ke bare main soch rahe ho?"

Maan: "Haan to? Tumhe kya takleef hai? Main to us ladki ke bare main soch raha tha jisse main pyaar karta hoon.bas tabhi tumne sapna kharab kiya..." he said fighting a giggle!

Geet: "Accha jee..." she said resting her head on his shoulders.

She continued;

Geet: "Waise main aapka shukriyaada karna chahti hoon. Kal ke liye. Aapne jo saare intezaam kiye, hamari shaadi ki saalgirah ke liye."

"Aaj mujhe ehsaas huya ki, chahe kuch bhi ho jaye, Maan aur Geet ka saath saat janmon ka saath hai. Maan aur Geet to ek hi tabeez ke do manke hai na. Hum do jism ek jaan hai Maan. Chahe kuch bhi ho jaye; kitna bhi bura ho; aapki yaadash chali gayi, kitni mushkilain aayi; par hamara pyaar aaj bhi barkaraar hai. Aaj bhi Maan aur Geet ka rishta atoot rishta hai."

Maan smiled and held her closer to him. He smiled at her and continued,

Maan: "Ab hum teenon ko koi alag nahi kar sakta."

She smiled and put forth a simple request;

Geet: "Maan aap mujhe wo Nizamuddin Dargah leke jaayiyena. Mujhe waha na mannat maagni hai. To chaliye na."

He looked at her and spoke again; he opened his palm to gift her something;

Maan: "Geet ye lo tabeez. Main ye tumhare liye laya hoon.Main in cheezon main yakeen nahi karta par sirf tum donon ke khateer main kuch bhi karoonga. Main bas yahin chahta hoon ki yeh tabeez tum pehen lo."

Geet's eyes wer red and brimming with tears. A man who never ever believed in God, who never walked up the temple steps, went all the way to a Fakir Baba to get her a Sacred threadso that she and their baby would be safe.

Every day, every moment, every passing second this Man amazed her!

Geet: "Aap kis mitti ke bane ho? Sirf mere liye aap mandir gaye?"

Maan: "Haan Geet, main tumhe ek baar kho chukka hoon, dobara nahi..."

Instantly her hands covered his mouth and her eyes pleaded not to utter a single word.
