This story is the next from me, chosen by popular demand. As of the time of this post, Ek Nayi Zindagi had a majority 63.59% of the votes made in this post.

The story starts from the point in GHSP where Dev and Geet are getting married. I will be including many details and situations that occurred in the serial, but the characters' reactions and the outcomes will not always be the same. However, I am using the original story as a guide, so you will notice a lot of similarities. Actually, I am pretty much going to includes all the plot elements that I liked as long as they fit in the story. What will be different is the characters' reactions and the outcomes.

Story So Far

Geet Handa is the eldest daughter of the conservative Handa family. At just eighteen years old, she is looking forward to her college studies. But fate has something else in mind for her. Being one of the influential families in Hoshiarpur, Geet's Daarji is most concerned for the family honor. When an excellent rishta to a boy from Canada comes for Geet, the family jumps at the chance to see her well settled. Despite Geet's objections, her relationship is finalized with the charming Dev Khurana.

Due to some business issues, Dev's family insists that the marriage take place within three days. The Handa's are not happy with this, but don't want to risk loosing such a good match for their daughter. Under the angry and watchful eye of her cousin-brother Brij, Geet tries to get to know her fiance, even as she comes to terms with the fact that she will be leaving her home. As the time for the wedding draws near, the only thing that mars Geet's excitement is an unexpected encounter at a mela with a mysterious stranger. Though he saves her from almost drowning, he is rude and arrogant in his behavior, leaving her with feelings of unease.

As her wedding fast approaches, Geet tries to mentally prepare her self to leave her friends, her family, her home, and start a new life with her husband in a new land.
