yes, i do! but down South, North Carolina. howdy, partner. 😆 (and yes, i do say y'all 😆)

AP is Advanced Placement; so i'm a sophomore taking a college course (regrettably...*sigh*) and yeah, i've grown up in America (but i'm more Indian than most NRIs! 😃), so my knowledge of Indian law is..um..zilch.

I have grown up in UK and my knowledge of the Laws of south Asian region are non-existent...so when the term "rapist" was being used i could only relate it to my understanding.
Fans were writing why is the rapist touching her...etc. etc. and that made me feel by watching geet...i was condoning something that was wrong on many levels.
But the posts written by some saying...it is up to geet to decide if she has been raped or not makes so much sense...as this act was carried out against her.
So guys appreciate your input in this matter😃

haha, i share u're point! i think that's why it's a state issue in the U.S., cuz it'd be unfair to set a federal law for such a situational topic. i think Geet holds herself responsible in part for what happened to her, too. eh, it's all about her POV, and since it's a character, we can try to dissect it and try to find reasoning, but in reality, it truly is the person's own choice. 😊

in Inida it is a national law, not by region at all. But US is different. Despite federal laws, state laws do allow modifications

yup i agree with you
rape is not the right word to be used
geet did not get forced into anything
she herself knew what was going on so its
not rape
great post
i hope that some people will get a clearer picture now

you need to read the Indian penal code to understand why that word is used for dev. any woman like geet if went to court for justice in India, a man like dev will be charged with a crime of rape. It is a national law.

I think from legal angle it is rape....BUT for it to be rape the victim needs to feel that its rape. Otherwise there is no case.

So, you think that the law depends on the victim?
And anyways, we don't need to know Geet's point of view towards Dev. According to law, it is a rape and it will be no matter the victim feels that or not. And mind it, Law doesn't need to clarify that to anyone. 😲

And by saying what you have said above, you seem to challenge the IPC.
