So, interacting with him might show Geet in sharp contrast what a genuine and integrated man Maan is and she may start to appreciate and miss his love/caring/integrity more. Besides, when you part from your love, that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain. If they use this separation forced through circumstances to bring out this aspect of Geet's love as you put it, then I think it would be well worth going through and bearing the pain of all the episodes of these past 2 weeks that paved the way for their separation in the first place.
