I can understand your feelings because you have strong feelings for Maan and how this baby may affect Maaneets future but consider this.
1. Geet would never knowingly hurt Maan. Even now...she says she just want to see him smile/laugh and can never see him in pain.
2. It is the baby which has brought Maaneet together. Maan has even accepted a father's responsibilty. Just look at his face when he turns to see the baby posters on the walls of the baby clinic. This man is already in love with the baby. Think how Maan is going to feel if Geet has a miscarriage. Is this not going to hurt him as well.
3. The serial needs a story. So what if Dev later wants to claim the Child as his own. They can show how Maaneets' relationship becomes even stronger in their fight to stop Dev from claiming the child later on.
4. They need to stretch the serial. If Maaneet are shown just lovey dovey all the time...this is going to get a little boring...isn't it? Then they loose viewers and trps go down and serial has to shut down. No Maan, to watch. What will you do then. They need to add some masala to the story. The baby can be a future story they can bring to the serial.
5. Geet's story about Dev's crime can be prooved without a shadow of doubt only if the baby lives. DNA test can proove that Dev is the father of the child. Geet can get justice for not only for herself but also for the baby and put Dev in jail.
6. So many possibilites....so why are you afraid of the baby? The cvs know that Maaneet are the UNIQUE SELLING POINT of this serial. To seperate them would be trp suicide for them.
7. Someone also made previous comments as to how is it possible for Maan bring up his own brother's child. Well this happens in many families in many religions. Even in my own family....I have two cousin brothers. They are real brothers and both are married. The younger brother has 2 children. The older brother and his wife tried for a long time to have children but found that they could not have any. The younger couple decided to get pregnant again and gave that child to the older couple. They did that twice and now the two children have officially been adopted by the older brother and his wife. There is no conflict in the family....the whole family recognizes the children as the older couples children. As a lot of people have commented on this thread...a biological father is not always the best father. The best father is the one who is always there with love and support when the child needs him the most.
Sorry for the long post...but I was really getting fed up with all these posts wanting a baby abortion/miscarriage.
