So the axe has finally fallen, eh?😆 I've been dreading this for a while now.

Hmm...

So personally, I don't want the FFs to be moved because since this is the GEET forum, the GEET FFs gain more popularity here coz all the GEET viewers and fans are concentrated here and it's easy to catch their eye.

But I aslo understand the concerns of the Dev team bcoz it is indeed a pain wen one wants to take part in the discussions.

So I'd suggest that whenever a new FF is started, it could be started here and once it gains popularity, say reaches 50 pages, then it can be moved to the FF forum and those who're following a particular FF are usually PMed abt updates coz every FF writer has a PM list, I guess.

So that's a possible solution according to me so that it's a win-win situation for everyone; the readers, the writers and those who wanna take part in the discussions. Can that be done?

hi guys...seen ur concerns..really not sure wat would be a great idea...u could have a FF thread..not media center...because lot of people may not know that..media center would have links to FF

so the FF could be as u suggested in the FF forum...but create a new thread ...calling it GEET'S FFs and have all the links in their...& now having the list according to the alphabet order will push the authors with z or x letters at an disadvantage..

so the listing has to be done.. in a more acceptable way...to all the authors..I can't think of an idea ...now...may be some one can develop on that...

How are we FF writers going to find our FFs?
How are the usual people going to know when they are updated...it would mean we have to send PMs..moreover,if their inbox is full,they can't even check it and what if they don't check their inboxes ever?

Actually..I don't understand the entire FF forum thing...why are there only some shows there?

My concern as a FF writer:Where are we supposed to start the new topic then?
My concern as a FF reader:How are we supposed to know if the ffs are updated?

I am a senior member,about to be a Goldie or something but am not sure about where can we bookmark certain topics...Is that even possible?

Please enlighten me..I am really confused

ish very difficult for us VM makers and not everyone is bothered to go to the Videomix forum even I knw coz I ahv a thread in the Videomiz thread but no one comments there and here I hav 45 pages of comments already Ish not abt comment ish abt Views.. It bcums a totall khichdi to find it and all that Plzz there are not soo many VM makers in Geet forum only 5 or 6 I think have their own VM threads.. You guys should take action on closing repetitive threads than closing creativity threads ish a big threat to the VM thread if it is here saves time too I am sure one thread is not doing much harm compared to so many repetitive threads..

Plz give deep thoughts to everything before taking any action..

I respect your decisions Mods...but i feel that the FF and VM threads should remain in the Geet forum....it's just that the Geet forum is the most active on I-F and that's because members of the Geet forum value both the discussion and creativity threads....and to move these threads would mean that this forum will loose some of it's hype.....

hope no one takes offence, just stating an opinion... =D

Yup, I agree wid Yasu! All the hype is bound to be affected and many people will even lose interest coz they'll have to go to diff places for diff things. As I've stated before, I do not want these threads to be moved but if there's no option then I hope my previous suggestion would be considered.

I do agree, I visit a lot of fourms where they don't allow ffs. And agree that the Fan Fiction Fourm is full of stories, like a whole LOT. But that's where the stories are suppose to belong. And besides, you can also read other couples. (If I talk more and more about this then I'll get off topic 😆 )

So I agree with the idea, the tv show fourms are meant for discussion about the show.

I fully understand the mods' concern. At the same time, I also empathise with those who are frustrated by the idea of a move. As a FF writer myself, I must admit I am a bit biased :)

I agree that having FF/VM threads in the Geet forum ensures that FFs and VMs have a large readership/viewership, and thus, the move will definitely affect new FF writers/ VM makers who have not had the chance to build up a "PM list" as yet... Which is why I think that a selective migration (old FF/VM threads only), as suggested above, makes sense.

Ideally, I think, things should remain as they are. But seeing that we do not live in an ideal world, maybe we can be more accomodating and work together to try and come up with a creative solution that is least unfair in the general scheme of things.

Side query: Are there really so many VM threads as to clog up the forum? Because I don't see as many.. (as compared to the FF threads, I mean)..

As I've said before, I am happy to listen to other viewpoints and I hope the following can answer some of the queries posted in this thread:

How do I follow the Updates in an FF?

As you would if the the links remained in the Geet forum. All that's changing is their location and ofcourse, all the threads you have replied to are available to view in the top right hand corner

Where do I open a new FF?

If the move does go through, then all FF threads will be opened in the FanFiction forum itself.

Why are VMs being moved as well?

I understand that there are a handful of member who consistently post their VMs in one thread. However there are also many members who open new topics and this leads to a disorganised forum. I have also been notified that the VM forum is very active.

Why do some Forums allow FFs and others don't?

The general rule is that all FFs and VMs should be posted in the forums opened for them. However sometimes the individual Mods do allow FFs depending on how many there are and if they disrupt discussion threads. As an FF Writer and a Mod, I understand the situation from both sides.

However the bottom line is that members who wish to write FFs will continue to do so. The same goes for those posting discussions and replying to the FFs.

I hope you don't feel as if I'm disregarding all of your opinions.😊
