I never said I haven't heard of 'eh'. I have heard of it a lot on t.v., which has led some people to believe that it is somehow a universal saying of Canadians. What I was merely saying was that though it is used by an actor/actress on t.v. playing a Canadian person...I have never come across its usage in everyday language. Now, 99% of ppl around u may use that word in everyday language, but that does not necessarily mean that the rest of ppl in Canada also end their sentences in 'eh'.

Similarly, I was basing my opinion on what happens around me...in my town/my province. Out here in the West, we don't say 'eh'. Maybe the usage of 'eh' in the 99% of the people around u is something special for ur province. Could be...just like the French spoken by people living in Quebec is quite different than the French learned by the rest of us living in other provinces. There could be regional differences.

hey you're more than welcome.. It saddens me deeply to see people always ready to bash anyone who dares to have a different pov... especially over actors, for god's sake their only playing a role!!! I never understood why people take offense when people criticise or have a different pov about an actor or actress portrayal of a character. I dont know you but i have to say I felt really bad for the way you were treated here... And also in being fair to everyone i equally understand that when the girls around here are totally gaga over Gurmeet that they dont want anyone to come and rain on their parade... so here's to hoping people start taking things more lightly around here.... take care and happy trails........hope you decide to stick around,....i liked what you said, but in retrospect perhaps others cant put their feelings aside and see that you werent trying to be rude but giving constructive criticism.

Came across this topic.
Why cant people look as how amazing acting he does, his voice, his expressions, his body language. How many of people in this forum are well educated and speak fluent english and hindi but then is everyone a very good actor like Gurmeet? Do we even have the guts to face the camera and be on TV monday to friday. Acting, dancing, singing, these are god gifts and one has to work very hard to be successful so lets just admire his acting and his hard work.
No one is 100% perfect. He is an actor and his doing his job, so lets just appreciate him for his job and not set the expectations very high.
Learn to see his positive points first and try not to concentrate on one negative point.

i think a lot of it can b attributed to d fact dat he had been doing a successful character of lord rama for quite sum tym.. meaning dat a lot of his on screen tym went in delivering ancient, epical, religious dialogues in d purest of hindi possible.. ol he did then was smile n luk calm .... the role of maan is dee exact opposite, its an experiment fr him as well ..giv him tym n hes sure to improve upon dat
n majorly he cant really help it, ive seen a few of his interviews n dis infact is d way he does speak !!
no one really pays heed to his diction is cuz his acting over shadows evrything n d flaw is not highlighted !! yayy !!

lol plz take everything in a gud stride ..its okay to point out flaws in our fav characters, infact dis is d way dey'll improve n accepting a flaw of a luvd one indicates maturity :)) bt drifting frm d point n cross-bashing each other is nt gud ..dis way ppl wud nt b able t speak their minds in d future
deres a way t convey evrything n thankfully english provides us wid so many pleasant synonyms ..plz switch to a more positive dictionary :D nd never refrain frm d frequent use of smileys :DD
healthy discussion is always welcum ..i luv it wen the forum is its usual jovial self

*looks left* *looks right* light atmosphere is here again !! yippiee !

oh n 1 more thing i agree dat dere indeed is a gradual push in d storyline bt dun worry soon deyre working on revealing geet's as well as maan's (sameera) past wid sum very tense scenes (obvio!)
ull b wishing dat d story shudnt hv moved afterall. personally i can do wid evry unnecessary and lingering plot in the show untill dey keep up d romantic factor !

go gurmeet !! go drashti !! go CVs !!

And what i am saying to you is why get offended, what is gurmeet to you? he's a guy acting a role out right? why take anything anyone says about him offensively? this is what really i can not understand? And i remember there was a topic here before and people found it offensive and ran her off? why is it that whenever someone posts a topic with a different pov, that person is either bombarded with replies that they find offensive.or they simply vanish cause they know their pov were not welcomed, (even though so many of you welcomed her, she even replied saying thank you to the ones that werent so welcoming.) I mean why is it that women are ready to fight back with words that are somewhat rude when really all you are discussing is a an actor and his abilities? why find anything about Gurmeet offensive? Now if Gurmeet himself were to find her offensive by all means i totally get that, if his girlfriend finds it offensive i get that, but why do all of you find it necessary to feel that way?

i totally agree wid you in points highlighted above...bashing an actor is another thing but discussing an actor abilities or shortcomings is not offensive .....

i think gurmeet is a fabulous actor, no doubt over his acting skills... his hindi diction is fine as well, if he says jarori rather than zaruri its ok coz his charcter Maan speaks hindi not urdu...as for his english diction, many hav said dat he is improving so there is no problm and i havnt noticed it that much coz when he is on screen all my concentration is on his expressions his body language 😳,im v critical usually on daily soaps therefore i havnt watched any soap b4,these r not upto my taste but now im watching geet just coz i was mesmerized by gurmeet's acting n his expressions.....he is v dedicated actor he will improve all his shortcomings 😊
i watch geet just for gurmeet

even though maan is a rich delhi dude..i think the stuff that life has thrown at him, he's a changed man..i'm sure he used to fool around too but that's called maturity..what he has..maybe he doesn't want to express his love yet clearly because he's scared of results that could be like or worse than his past..so i think he's fine..
and his brother, thank god maan is not like him..his brother is such jerk...so thank god for them being differnt
and i think his skills are pretty great in hindi and the english parts are getting better too

I absolutely agree with the 2 comments- get the story moving with some intelligent dialogue, it's great watching the chemistry between the two but it's time something happened.
And yes, GC does need some lessons in diction. The guy's a brillaint actor, he's been fabulous so far.

The post is a bit harsh but I also feel that he needs some lessons on pronunciation & diction. I discovered this very lately after reading this post & watching few episodes carefully. The way he pronounced 'frk' in few episodes & some other words... He needs to work on the pronunciation of 'sh' & 's'. Otherwise his voice is really good & dialogue delivery is superb.

I myself noticed such things after I attended some diction-pronunciation classes at my colg.

A Suggestion: He should start learning some Urdu. It will help certainly.

Don't take ofence please.
