I love the live updates, it's the 1st thing i check when i come home from work, i think Tannu should be allowed to have her own thread, I don't see any reason why she should not be allowed too.

First of all, apologies if this post comes out as garbled ... I'm typing this up at 1am after a long drive back from a wedding. So the sleep cells are very likely to kick in soon.😆

Now, moving onto the 11 pages I've just had to go through.

1) Why?

Any other Mod, any other forum, Tanu would have been asked to stop her live updates. We have Coolbies who work just as hard to get out detailed updates and with everyone PMing me constantly about the need to stop repetitive threads in the forum, surely this falls under the same category?

2) Tanu still gives live updates.

They have just been moved to another thread which isn't very much larger than some of the others on the forum. If size is a problem, however, instead of one ongoing thread I can put up fresh threads daily?🤔

3) On one side I'm being told that I'm not doing enough to stop repetitive threads and on the other, I'm berated for closing threads that are similar. Can't have it both way guys.

4) There is no conspiracy going on with me favouring members in the Development Team. If I feel that a thread is going against the rules in the forum, it is closed and the member informed regadless of their title.

5) The decision to move Tanu's thread to the Daily Discussions Thread was not something put forward by me; but instead a suggestion from many members which came through the forum and via PM.

6) I have always stated that Tanu does an amazing job with her live updates. As an updater myself, I know the hard work that goes into these threads which is why instead of closing this thread, I'm sitting here doing my best to come to a solution which we can all agree on.

It is also why I highlight the title with the relevant page number whenever Tanu posts her live update.

I don't give that much importance to any other views in the thread. Surely that's injustice to other members who put just as much creativity and thought into their posts?

7) I do my best to strike a line between keeping members happy and following the rules. However if this forum was always ruled by what the masses want then there really wasn't a need for a moderator.

For example - - Members love posting the Facebook pictures on the forum. So should we allow it despite knowing that within the hour we'll have twenty threads carrying the same pictures?

Many members love the adult content in the FFs but should we encourage it despite knowing that this India-Forums is a site catered to a wide range of ages?

Three seperate issues but the same message - - my life does not revolve around making you all miserable. I've gone out of my way to come up with a solution to this problem and I need everyone to atleast attempt to meet me halfway.

And now I've forgotten the other points I had planned to make. However I hope I've covered most of the main ones.😳

I hate to disagree, but Tanu and wat the updaters do r two different things. Either its different or its the same. You can't say both at once. If it is different then allow her to have her own separate thread. If it is the same then don't allow her to do Updates.

I have not seen you lock up Strutidi's threads with mini-updates... If you have done that then sowwie my bad for missing it.

I find that Tanu's threads serve a different purpose then the daily updaters and does not minimize from their efforts at all. The daily episode written updaters provide details that Tanu does not. Her's is juss a quick summary of the hi-lights that dune real time without regard to accuracy. I maybe wrong but, that is the perspective that others in this thread may be trying to put forward to you.

And yes. There is undermoderation in this forum. Loads of REPEAT threads, Sometimes same poster juss changes the title of the post and repots:S. There are others that confuse Rumour & Fact. Still others who confuse Prediction, FF, and Fact.

This is a very very busy forum and no doubt hard to moderate, so more hands & eye maybe required here.

But, while there is a case for more Moderation, in Tanu's case there just might have been serious OVERMODERATION. Food for thought when you have rested your mind might be the fact that 120+ forum members disagree with you.

P.S. On an related, but unrelated note - shut downing down a thread without any investigation because you are busy might just be overkill. Trust the judgment of your fellow moderators - Jyoti was around and actually in the thread i am referencing... If you don't trust her judgment then maybe you could have nudged the global moderator before taking immoderate action.

Sowwie - that's how i see it. U r welcome to disagree... i am always open to being convinced otherwise...1 benefit of being a lawyer is ability to understand there r more than 1 side to an issue...

I request you to reconsider reopening Tanu's Live Updates as those are so timely and helpful.

While the Daily Discussions can happen in the Daily Discussions thread where analysis, rants, details can be discussed.

One point of note that could also be done is just have her do Live Updates and keep the thread open only for her without comments, if that is possible so that it stays a sticky and is a Live Updates/Live Commentary Thread.

Please think it over once again as unlike some of FB pic posters, she is not repetitive.

@Tomiko: As another avid reader of Tanu's Live Updates, I agree with what everyone is suggesting here. From my end all I would say is, this is not a push to make her thread as a sticky post or a separate post. But it is an effort from all of our ends to do so. They say that it is easy to create something but difficult to maintain it well enough... I again agree with Bri's suggestion here where you could create a sticky note for Tanu such that no one else besides her is allowed to update it... And that if anyone is interested in appreciating it, they might as well utilize the 'Like' button to do so...

As far as maintaining the decorum of this forum is concerned... given that there are many hands available, willing to contribute to its cleanliness... I believe those could very well be used too...

These are mere suggestions...

Hi Tomiko,

As many have already voiced here I too think Tanu should have a separate thread for the live highlights of the show. We who live outside India & r a week behind India schedule & solely depend on these live updates to survive till we get the videos up!!

So it will be really nice if we can get Tanu's thread back as a live updater.

If u want we won't reply to it, only will press the LIKE tab.

Its difficult to go through EDT finding her updates Hopefully u will look into this matter with an open & rested mind!

Tomiko, My request to also keep Tanu's live update going.

Why?

For all those outside India, the episodes are delayed and we look forward to getting it from the forums, after all the primary point of being on this forum is the frenzy and love for the show. We want to get the update as soon as possible....It's just how people are. If we didnt have this kind of love for the serial may I say... neither the show nor the forum would get so popular. This is because of the audience fancy for the show and its characters, and the wholehearted involvement. After all even the PH is considering requests and accomodating into the storyline why couldnt the forum management?

There may be rules, and we respect them but there is something called human factors (every company has this BTW... its not something poetic I made up). Sometimes when you make a decision you have to go with the spirit of the post not just rules.

And this is one such request...
