And so as Daadi coughed again, Geet ran to the nearby medical store; not with the intention of bringing medicine for her, but to walk away from the awkwardness she was facing with all the teasing and questions. Daadi quickly realized what just happened. But Maan refused to understand anything that Geet says or does. This girl is just beyond his understanding; or maybe he does not want to understand her?
It was getting dark and Geet had been away for almost an hour. Knowing that trouble is Geet's best friend, a fear rose in Maan's heart. 'What's taking her so long? The medical shop is just around the corner. She's new to this place. Did she forget her way back? Oh no, Geet is out on the streets at this hour - alone! I must go look for her. I hope she's safe. God ,this girl is totally crazy and is going to kill me one day!' And so he went out in search of her.
Geet, aimlessly walking on the streets of Delhi, is thinking about what she has been going through for the past couple hours. The sudden urge to keep looking at Maan, the effect of the hurt caused by his bitter words, the longing to see him hale and hearty. These emotions were building an unknown storm inside her - a storm that she was not ready to face just yet. She kept questioning herself and her newly found unknown feelings.
And then suddenly she sees a gang of guys approaching her. It is then that she comes back to her senses and realizes she's on the streets at this late an hour. Her pace quickened as she crossed the road to avoid passing the guys. But to her astonishment, they crossed the road too - only to come face to face with her. She was frightened. She didn't know what to say or do. She quickly turned back and started walking the other way. Goondas being goondas, they overtook her and once again came in front of her. They tried to make her talk, they teased her, played with her dupatta and her hair strands. In fear, she again turned back to go the other way, this time running quickly to escape them. She ran a few steps only to bump into Maan. Her happiness knew no bounds when she saw him. He had once again come to save her.
And so the fight began. All of them fighting Maan whereas 2 still holding Geet tight. These were not mamooli goondas, they had come prepared with tools. And so they hit Maan hard enough to make him bleed in his face. Seeing this, Geet could not control herself. She pushed away the men holding her to run towards Maan and see if he is ok only to face the cruel goondas again. They held her tight and this time, threw her aside. They pulled her dupatta and tore it in pieces.
This made Maan go mad. His anger rose to high that he could not think straight. Left and right he kept fighting with everyone that came his way. He was almost in front of Geet - wanting to assure her that when he is around, she need not worry. And then boom! One goonda hit him hard with a stick on his head from behind. Not able to understand what just happened, he turned around only to be hit again - this time in his face, then stomach and then legs. Before he fell on the ground, he turned to look for Geet one last time. Geet saw his expression of helplessness and began to sob.
And then you hear cops car siren. Obviously this made the goondas run away lest they get caught. Geet ran to sambhalo Maan who was almost unconscious. Their eyes met for one last time before he closed his.
Scene shifts to the house. Doctor says "he has been hurt very badly. His head injury is not fatal but he has multiple fractures in his leg and needs complete bed rest". Geet cannot stop cursing herself for her foolish acts which caused so much distress to Maan. She begins to sob like a little girl when Daadima comes and tells her to control herself. "Agar aap apne aap ko nahi sambhaal payenge, toh Maan ka khayal kaun rakhega. Aaj se Maan aapki zimmedaari hai. Aap hi ko unki dekhbhaal karni hogi".
Geet agrees, not because she had feelings for Maan but because of guilt. And then we see Geet taking care of Maan. Sitting by his bedside, moving her hand gently across his hair. She even comes as close to give him a kiss on his head, but Geet toh Geet hai. She comes back to senses and thinks to herself 'yeh kya kar rahi hai'. pagal mat ban, apne aap ko sambhal. Maan sir thik ho jaye, uske baad teri zimmedari khatam. phir tu yahan se chali jaane. Tu hamesha unke liye pareshaani ka karan banti hai. Lekin ab nahi. Maan sir ke thik ho jane ke baad tujhe unki zindagi se jaana hoga.'
Din-raat, subah-shaam, Geet is busy doing Maan's seva. Even at night, she keeps a watch over. She is always with Maan bina palak jhapkaye, bine kuch piye, bina kuch khaye. She tends to his wounds and ceaselessly prays that he becomes alright else she will never forgive herself.
Bas...aaj ke liye itna hi. Hope to continue with the scene when Maan ko hosh aa jaye and prem kahani aage badh jaye. Hope you like my first attempt😳
