And there she was, standing in the same stance that he had been once. Standing by the window, he saw her looking out to something without blinking her eyes. She was searching for something. He walked near her. He thought she might hear his footsteps, but she was lost in her own world. His shaking hand patted her shoulder, "Geet" a low-pitched voice came out of his lips. She was standing there solemn, so out of life. He saw her tears roll out one after another. He felt weak inside, like he was responsible for her condition. "Geet", he called her again and her body shook like she just woke up from a bad dream. "Sameer"…she spoke abruptly. His eyes widened as she called out a name. She suddenly came back to her senses and realized what she just said. She looked at him, in his eyes. It was the first time after that incident that their eyes met. She did not want to face him again, yet they kept staring into each others' eyes for so long. "Sameer?" He said skeptically. He was about to say more when she turned around and walked a bit away from him. "Kuch mat poochna Maan", she spoke to him. He did not pay attention to anything except how comfortably she called his name, whereas she was thinking of everything except for calling out his name bluntly.
He walked close to her. "Geet, mujhse baat toa karo". He was eager now. "You have no idea what you did to me, Maan." She quickly turned. He saw into her wet eyes. "Geet, give me a chance to explain". He replied. "Nahi Maan!, explain karne ko kuch nahi bacha. I trusted you and you broke my trust. Meri sab se bari ghalti ye thi ke mainay aapse madad maangi."
"Geet, meri baat……"
"Aapke office main nokri ki aor phir…phir yahan…yahan aapke ghar tak aa gayi."
"Geet, please baat suno meri…..Geet".
"Phir jab mujhe pata chala ke aap Daadi maa ke potay hain tab bhi main yahan se nahi gayi. Aur phir……" He pulled her close and blocked her mouth. "Chup ho jao Geet!" He said it demandingly. No matter how much she tried, he always came close to her. No matter how much she fought, complained, argued; he could never stay away from her. She wanted to yell once more. She wanted to push him away and run outside. But she did not move. He slowly moved his hand away from her mouth, touching her lips with his fingers. She was looking into his eyes. She felt quivering running down her spine as his finger pores brushed against her soft lips. She closed her eyes and felt his fingers exploring the corners of her lips, then her chin, then her cheeks. She felt him cup her face into his hands and his thumbs rubbing off her tears. She lost herself into him again. She felt him breathing close to her face; her lips trembled from his warm breath. Her eyes tightly closed the moment she felt his lips on hers. He shoved his fingers into her hair and brought her closer to deepen the kiss. She suddenly broke away from the kiss and ran towards her room.
He called her, "Geet!" but she did not look back. She slammed the door shut and locked it. She burst into tears as her body slowly slipped to the floor. She pushed her fingers into her hair and hid her face between her knees. She was trying hard to stop her loud cries but she failed.
