This part is kinda short....But I hope you like it. I know half of you don't have the patience to read my note and will skip off directly to the update...so I am not gonna bother typing nemore😆😆😆

PART 17
The rain sang tunes between them...Maan ran his fingers through the wet expanse of his hair. Her eyes were wounded and her face was a tale of hurt...and it hurt him that he had put in there...however unintentionally it may have been.

"Err..." he cleared his throat.

"Maan Singh Khurana....Stop looking at me as if I put you at gunpoint!!! All I did was confess my feelings for you..." Geet told him.

"Actually I don't know how I am supposed to react..." he managed.

Geet scowled.

"How about...'Hey Bhagawaaan!!! Uthale...Uthale...Mujhe ab aur zindagi se kuch nahi chahiye'..." she lifted her hand updwards and enacted dramatically.

Maan could see that she was still hurt.And inspite of it...her sense of humour remained intact. This girl was one of her kind....

"Geet I am sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you....I was just playing about...And I had absolutely no idea that I was the guy...I was just sort of upset that I came here in the first place to act as your body guard....."

"Glad that you know that you came here....I was hoping that you wouldn't say that you sleepwalked here by mistake..."Geet frowned.

Maan smiled.

He was not in love with her...but she was his only friend and he could not see her hurt. But it always safer to tell the truth....there would be no tears in a relationship founded on truth.

"Geet...I respect your feelings. But I think it is right that you should know..that I have no such feelings for you...I love you as a friend and nothing more..."

Geet smiled....a sad smile. He had never seen that smile of hers...The ones he was tuned to were always unrestrained sunny ones or sarcasm filled ones...This one undid something deep within him. It actually felt painful.

"That's fine...I know that you don't share my feelings. I wasn't expecting you to propose me or anything...I've received 209 of those mock proposals...I wouldn't even know if you were serious or were fooling around.....But mind your lack of feeling is not going to stop me ..." she looked at him warningly.

"Tell me something that can stop you..." Maan said weakly.

"Maan there is no need to look like you are ship-wrecked....I told you that I love you...There is no compulsion that you should love me back. Nobody defined love as a two way journey...It can be this way also...my heart takes a one way ticket to you and remains there..." she said...her voice getting a bit stronger.

Maan looked at her in awe....If he let this girl go from his life he would be the biggest ass on earth. Maan pulled her into a squeezing hug on an impulse.

Geet felt his firm body as the greatest support at the moment. This guy was not in love with her...and was not throwing it back on her face...She closed her eyes and felt his arms shield her against the rain. It felt at home....in reality or dreams...this always felt right.

Maan shut his eyes...She was the only person he trusted in this world after Dadi...She was his friend. It was a different tale that he wasn't in love with her. But the way she was snuggled up against him....her skin cold with the rain.... he felt complete in a rare way standing there...in the downpour....with her safely in his arms....He smiled.

She broke the hug...It was unsettling to stand that close to him and not feel those electric shivers run through her.

"Don't you think we should celebrate?" she asked him cheerily. The sadness in her heart properly veiled.

"It is raining....and well both will be under the blanket tomorrow...." Maan said thoughtfully.

"Mr. Maan Khurana....Aren't your thoughts getting a little wild? 'Under the blanket tomorrow' itseems" Geet chuckled.

His eyes popped out. "I never even thought about it that way...All I meant was we both would be sick and at home in our respective beds...." he justified sincerely.

"Can't you take a joke guy? Waise...I thought I was gonna die there..." she pointed at the stream.

"I am really sorry for not jumping in earlier. I thought you were acting..." he sounded apologetic.

"That's fine...You saved me that's what matters...." Geet said.

Maan remembered his mouth to mouth resuscitation....and turned pink. It felt different now...knowing that he had brushed his lips against the lips of the girl who loved him. By the looks of it she didn't remember anything of that.

"That gives us two reasons to celebrate....Firstly, You saved my life. And secondly...I got the guts to confess my feelings for the first time..." she listed.

"Hmmm... First time you confessed. Does that imply that you have had feelings before but never confessed?" Maan looked at her his brows knitted.

"Ofcourse....I was hopelessly in love with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson),Ian Somerhalder, Iqbal Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Matt Lanter, Harshad Chopra, Imran Khan....Never got a chance to tell them...." she chirped.

"Who are they?" Maan felt lost.

"Uh oh...They are all actors...handsome...dashing...drool-worthy actors. I wish I could have told them how crazy I was about them...But I never got a chance. So basically your are the lucky chap who bagged my first confession..." she superiorly told him.

"I am blessed..." he said in mock joy and bowed humbly.

Geet laughed...This time it was a clear laugh that echoed through the night and Maan's heart.

"So...Let's celebrate...What are we waiting for?" Geet asked him rubbing her hands. The ruthless rain had made her narrow her eyes against the water...

"How about we go home now, change into something dry and comfortable and then celebrate?" Maan suggested.

"No I want to dance with you in the rain now...This feels perfect!" Geet stubbornly stamped her foot.

"Music?" Maan asked her.

"Your cellphone Mogambo...Use your head sometimes. It will expire without usage..." she rolled her eyes.

"God! You have a sword for a tongue...." he told her and fished out his phone.

"Maybe a snog will correct your assumptions...Mogambo!" she thought to herself cheekily.

"Why the grin?" he asked her seeing the appearance of dangerous smile.

"Not important" she shoved aside and took his hand in hers.

"Last time you danced in anger...trying to prove that you were not 'Pappu saala'.....hope this time is better.." she smiled as he placed the mobile on the grass.

"Don't stamp on my mobile okay. I don't have time to buy another one..." he fitted his hand into hers perfectly.

"Warn yourself...!" she smiled.

(Pallo's Note- I am crazy about dancing..So sorry for bugging you people with another dance!)

He twirled her around easily. She was featherlike...and her eyes were sparkling with the most ethereal joy Maan had ever seen. The rain made look like an angel...Maan felt his heart leap at her smile. Her steps spelled grace and she felt like a dream.....

Geet knew how heaven felt...
Her body was singing the anthem of an unknown and yet deeply stirred feeling. This was how love felt....complete!!!! She looked at his eyes....honey...the colour of her dress! There was a heart-warming smile on his gace that enriched his suave looks.....Geet felt a swelling feeling....Her Man...Her Maan!

They both were enjoying...enjoying the rain and the moment....It felt perfect.

"Wow! That was like the best dance of my life!" Geet beamed at him.

"Would you believe if I said mine too..." Maan threw her a disarming smile.

"So celebration complete? Now lets get going Geet...I hate being sick..." he told her. He picked up his mobile.

"Fine...I'll drive us back...." she agreed.

He gave her the keys. "All yours..." he grinned.

She winked at him cutely. He laughed and followed her to the car.

"The lights are on...I think being in love is having effects..." Maan smirked.

The lights in Geet's house were burning brightly. She squinted at them suppressing a shiver...she had already caught a cold.

"Noways I remember clearly switching them off when you came to pick me up."

"Then maybe it is burglar at work..." he mused.

"No...can't be.I have nothing valuable. They have a copy of my key in Abohar. I think my sister is back..." she loured.

The thought of having NT back made Geet squirm.

"The one who thought Dev was Tom Cruise!" Maan supplied.

"Yep..." Geet chuckled.

"I think you better go see....who is in there" Maan seriously told her.

She got off the car with Maan doing the same.

"Listen stay in the shadows okay...She is a freak...She will lose it if she sees me with any species in a pant!!!" Geet hushedly advised him.

"Kya Family Hain!" Maan guffawed.

"Sshh.." Geet threw him a warning look.

The door opened and Maan hid safely behind the door near the bushes.

"Brij Bhaiyya!!!!" Geet's eyes widened and she clamped her mouth with a hand.
