– heard Caryn and Ho talking the other day " intha combo
ve sari illiye, Enna nadkkumo??? IF lounge kku police varumo,
a la Tamil serials??"

Well, the awards are over - the applauding has not stopped,
the recipients are getting ready for their acceptance speech -
Pat takes just one minute, Kavi is crying, Eljay now has one
more issue to take up with Roja, Niti is pressing her feet,
Meli is beaming ( any publisher ready to release this
Encyclopedia??) Sue is trying to fit her third eye to her
forehead, Usha is now confident of her seat just next to
Lord Yama ( well, just one more jump and she will get THE seat!!),
Tamil is glad to have got the green signal ( neeya naana
pathualam oru kai, Thols), Ho is talking to Nallu ( CV kudumma,
oru nalla payyana pappom, devil duo clearance nna
konjam kashtam, avanga range kku oru groom, hmmm)
Rathy is in hiding ( voice mattum than kekkanum!1)Bluegal
changes her contacts, Vani decides to buy 10 black skirts,
Pokkiri extends his tail and hits Tamil ( Nan hench man ,
Roja akka kooda than iruppen) ...... Well, Roja is hugging
her handbag still!!! why?????? No one is willing to move with
out unearthing that "closely guarded" secret !!!!

Roja has no choice - Giri is all eyes, Roja slowly takes
some thing out......the bundle makes some birdie noise......
Oh, My God, that is a baby stork -it came in to the lounge
late last evening and Roja was quick to catch it.

Roja announces " well, like the bride throwing her bouquet,
I am going to let this fly, whoever the stork chooses to sit on
is next in the list for Bangle protection....." Giri gapes, Niti,
Eljay, Rathy, Tamil and a few others try to flee but alas,...
Pokkiri locks the door .. all those who want to avoid the stork
visit are running in circles, all those who have been visited by
the storks are enjoying the sudden activity.....
Roja laughs hysterically, for once Giri is dumbfounded.....

IF Tamil Serials' Fans' Lounge.

All is quiet. Roja is busy packing for her trip.
Atina is busy with her house warming.
Jas is upset that the match got canceled due to
the rain. Sue and Giri are busy discussing Punnagai
vs Pon nagai. Tamil is busy and tensed - has a job
interview on Friday. Niti has some relief from
updating "Alankolangal" - God sent Saratha back to
the lounge!!! Meli was smart enough to allocate
Lakshmi updating to Niti - she is called IF Encyclopaedia
with good reasons!!!

Riya was busy with some projects and is happy that it
is Friday - While SE Asia has lunch, Australia finishes
their day's work and heads home!!! Ho is also happy -
week end means some rest and back to the Church.
Pokkiri is busy giving video links - almost for all serials -
Rathy is happy that Abi did not land in a mental asylum or
Kutralam - yet!!! Supree and Caryn are happy that week end
will have less crowd in the lounge - both plan to watch some
movie and put their legs up. Kavi is very happy - Dr. uncle
said that she could do little moving around from next month.
" just 2 more weeks"...... No one notices the shadow at the
door.

"Hello, there" - a husky voice floats in the air and a strylish
woman enters - Giri runs to the new comer " Roja akka"....
and gapes .... " akka, whats this, all dressed for your flight??"
The new comer has a surprised look '"flight??? and who are u?"
For a minute Giri is shocked but quickly looks around for
her jasmine garlands ... when she ran to the door, her garlands
fell down .." Oh, Roja akka can not recognize me with out my
garlands..." retrieves her garlands, wears them around her ears
and looks expectantly at Roja. " looks like u all have forgotten
me, this is Lily" the new comer smiles. Rathy bends
over backwards to please Lily - " pls come in, Giri did
not see u that day, so she thinks that it is her twin Roja ".....
Giri drops to the floor....... Caryn tries to say some thing but
thinks other wise.."lets see what happens today"....

Usha invites Lily in and shows her Award - the rest follow
suit and show Lily the photographs. Lily as usual says the right
one liners at the right time. Pokkiri has a look of disdain -
" a look alike of my queen Roja akka uh huh" Tamil refuses
to look at the new comer " I am the fan of one and only Roja
akka .. no look alike can buy me out".... Niti is restless
" Roja akka, where are u?? come soon,some Lily is here .."
Giri looks all beaten.... " how can any one look like my
twin??? My twin has the most beautiful mad gleam and
the most terrifying hysterical laugh.. this one and her
husky voice uh uh " .... Jas also does not look too pleased
" Roj is the one I like...how she managed to coat PO with
GA in one shot and got Supree to make an excellent garlic
laced potato, hmmmm, this one is no match for the original".....

Lily looks around and feels the general tepid response to
her arrival. " is some thing wrong? you were all so excited the
other day and now seem to be indifferent!!" - Sue sums up the
reaction with the responsibility of the third umpire - " see, Lily,
we all were excited to see u because u look so much like our
darling Roja. You left the lounge before we all could recover
from the surprise, the other day. Oh you are welcome here and all
that but we might take a while to get used to u. We all love our
mad Roja - with all her madness - you are too polished and
distant, keep coming and we will take u in to the inner circle
one day, ok?"

Lily listens with a mysterious smile and Caryn just explodes
"aha hah hahah Roja enough is enough, get back to your
original self, ok" ..... The next second the lounge explodes
with the original hysterical laugh - only this time it comes
from Lily - all are stunned, Giri is rooted to the ground ....
" how Roja akka how????? U did not tell me???? and
how did I not recognize you? " ..... Roja moves to the
center and all are laughing .. Pokkiri dances around " hey
my queen akka is back heeyyyyyyy" The lounge is back
to being a mad house... Roja explains amidst all the noise
" I finished my packing and peeped in to the lounge. It was
so quiet. I just could not tolerate the calmness and so decided
to bring back Lily....." Giri tries to kick Roja, Roja
runs and ............ here we are!!!!!!

Caryn and Tamil - u both should be happy - not much
Taminglish this time!!!

IF Tamil Serials' Fans' Lounge.

All are relaxing after their whirlwind trip. Rathy
is on the easy chair with closed eyes. Kavi kutty
is walking slowly. Ho has a "gold" gown on. Fluidd
is cooing over her mobile - viscoelastic voice on the
other end singing "honey, honey, honey". Sue is
keeping an eye on Kavi. Niti has a confused look - after
reading Giri's A Abi vs K Abi - Suram made sure to add on
that - Niti is right now dreading about her Monday
update!!! Vani is still blushing and wondering about her
own bridal shower - "Roja akka vanthu oru mass bridal
shower nadathuvaangalo?? marupadi stork kondu
vanthutta??"........ Caryn keeps aside her pistol -
she made sure to unload - "Thollaikesi inge varamaattan"
......... Jas is all ready for chipping in "Roja sonna chip enna
maram kooda vettuven".... Tamil, Pokkiri and Usha are deep
in discussion " coffin box kku enna wood sari ya irukkum??" ..
Giri is darting looks at the door and looking at her watch ....

Roja enters with her usual asattu sirippu and ohhhh whats
that????? she has a soda bottle kannadi!!! kannadikku
pinnadi rendu muttai (aanthai??) kannu....... Viewbie nna
kannu ipdi aaganuma enna?????? Orchid maalai asainthu
aada Roja enters ........... "Roja akka vanthachhhhh" Giri
screams and runs to the door......all scramble to their feet
and run, Kavi kutty attempts to join but gets stopped by Sue
"Kavi mella nada, inime Roja ingethan , ok?" ............
The lounge gets in to chaos ... well with Roja around serenity
is unheard of!!!!!!!

IF Tamil Serials' Fans' Lounge.

The lounge is in total chaos!!! The members
are all excited and chatting among themselves.
" hey, we are going for a ride along the Seine
river, the only hitch is that it is mad Roja
who is arranging this - she is good at taking
people for a ride and so.......". However,
the curiosity wins over and all are getting
ready.

Kavi is tightening her corset. Roja has made
arrangements for an adjustable chair and Sue
takes it up on herself to keep a check on Kavi.

Sue is multi tasking - one eye on Kavi and the
other on her bag - " hmmm an evening in Paris,
long flowing dress??? Moulin Rouge show?? Can
I sneak in hubby darling?? Roja did say
some thing about a hiding place??!!..."

Ho is excited, she hopes to meet the young Shammi
Kapoor there!!! " akele, akele kahaan jaa rahe ho,
hame saath le lo jahaan jaa rahe ho".... Ho hums
and ponders .." che annikke Ho Ho nnu Shammi
kooppittar, nan than miss pannitten... hmmmm"

Jas is searching for her poetry books - " wow,
it will be so nice to read while the boat cruises
through the river, me and my book, nice jug of
coffee ( chittu, nee enakku owe panra ella coffee
yaium marakkame kondu vaa), I can forget the maddies
around me and enjoy myself.. but my dreams could be
short lived, with Roja and her mad gleam, enge nimmathi
kidakkum hmmm..."

Nallu is dreaming as well - " Roja akka bridal shower
in Seine nnu solraanga, namba aalu yaaro, paraded
some one in front of the IF ians that day just for
fun... ayyo, what if I get stuck with that guy.."

Niti is closing her eyes " the moment I update
Kolangal, every one pounces.... I will just enjoy
this ride, period. Duppatta end le hubby ai mudichu
podara magic ai yarukku kathu kudukkalaam?....."

Fluidd is all smiles - " viscoelastic will be on board,
for sure, Roja says that she will hide him somewhere,
huh, I know how to get him out....." paavam evil duo
pathi innum sariya theriyalai Fluidd kku....

Usha is dreaming as well " Roja was talking about
some punishments, bridal shower le punishment kku
enna role?? pesame Seine river kku oru punishment
kudukkalaama?...."

Pokkiri is smiling - " aha, cheated my teachers and
am going away, no home work, no class.. for a while
at least. Enna sight adikka mudiyaathu, koodave all
akkas... mmm will manage some how.."

Meli made sure to make it - " theme song has been sent,
updates over, inimel enna, rest and relax than...
bridal shower le original shower varame irukkanum..."

Riya is smiling " Giri oor sutha vaichaanga, ippo
Roja ma.... nalla kaalam namakku yarum innum
mappillai thedalai.... jolly aa enjoy pannalaam,
bhootham mathiri oru husband namakku vendam..."

Vani is happy - " awww, I can wear some nice dress,
colorful ones, I am now all set, spill panname irukka
pazhakitten.... " She is also doubtful " yetho oru
photo vai kaatti, ithan fianc nnu namba vaichen, ippo
bayamaa irukku..."

Caryn is also ready - " hmmm, my days in Europe were
very nice, am so glad to go back.... I wrote a letter
to the French Prime Minister about Roja's trip...
Hope Roja does not remember that... she might do some
thing to me..."

Rathy had a secret pact with Roja " akka, na pilot
panna maatten, ok va? Last time, Giri ennamo joy
stick nnu sonna, i thought it was some thing to do
with happiness, eduthu olichu vachen, apram partha
athu illame plane nagaralai, rombha kashtamaa pochu..."

Giri is very busy with Supree " Supree , ella food um
ready aa? Roja akka paris le food sariya illainnu
sonnanga, bridal shower kku vera nalla sapadu tharanum,
kattu sadha koodai kooda venum ppa..."

Supree gives a side long glance at Giri ..." yen Koodai
koodai nnu insist panra??? enna marmamoo??" she
remembers the Rajini song .. " koodaiyil enna poo...
Kushboo.."

The next minute sees Giri elsewhere - kalile sakkaram
than - varieties of garlands are ready - Hawaiyan style
dress than illai!!!

Roja is on the phone: ada French conversation!!!
Roja: nous voulons louer un bateau ( we want to rent a boat)
Other side says some thing and Roja is nonchalant.
Roja: oh, cela beau, l'argent n'est pas un problme
( oh thats fine, money is not a problem)
The other side says some thing and Roja's face reddens.
She throws the phone on to the cradle and kisu kisu thu fies
to her twin. Giri nods her head in all directions " enna periya
ivanaa? nama polam kka, vaanga"....

All look expectantly at the twins " enna acchuppa??"
The duo has a mad smile - " polaam, no problems..
vidu jhootttttt"

All get in to PARG 172 and all set to leave....


Paris, ici nous venons!!!! ( Paris, here we come!!!)

Paris airport - Flight PARG 172 lands.

The control tower heaves a sigh of relief -
"some novice is flying this, God, we just
escaped a catastrophe..." But our
IF ians are cool - they have never had a
good pilot - ever!!! If they can't get a
pilot they will just fly themselves defying
Newton's Physics and pull wool over the eyes
of the most powerful radars of the world!!!

" Chala chala chala gala gala gals " - is all
the noise that is heard by the French !!!
Unmindful of gaping mouths and hypothyroid eyes,
all leave the airport. Roja and Giri stay back and
have asked Jas to take the crowd to Eiffel Tower -
Jas is glad to put her French to use!!!!

Roja and Giri get a few technicians to help out
and are doing some changes in the under carriage
of the aircraft. While the techs are at work, Giri
chats with Roja.

Giri: Akka, antha boat karan enna sonnan?? why did u
get angry??
Roja: Giri, what cheek!!! This is what happened -
Roja/Giri kannukku munnale surul surul......

Roja to boat guy: L'argent n'est pas de problme mais nous
voulons le bateau nous. Nous ne voulons pas votre quipage,
l'obtenu ? ? ( Money is not a problem but we want the boat to
ourselves, we do not want your crew, ok?)

Boat guy: Vous avez un accent bizarre - dsol notre bateau
avec notre quipage seulement, autrement se perdre. ( you
have a weird accent, sorry our boat with our crew only,
otherwise get lost)

Now Giri's face also reddens - " akka, namba 172 can do
anything - ippo athu boat aagidum, namba jolly aa polaam."

By then the techs have finished their work. The duo get a few
men around and lug 172 to the river - " yelalo, yelalo ( Bhandham
title song ) yelalo, yelalo - ayelesa, ayelesa" - BG music by the
duo and the passersby stop in their tracks - The devil duo and
172 become the star attraction of the floating population.

Giri laments" akka, thalaikku 10 Euro vaangi jolly aa
selavu panniyirukkalaam , miss pannittame"

Boat PARG 172 lands(??!!) on the shores of Seine. Jas
brings in the crowd - she looks exhausted. "enna aachu, Jas?"
" ayyo Roj, Pokkiri, Usha, Tamil and Fluidd kooda ore ragalai,
tower mele irunthu Thols ai thallinaal epdi irukkum? evvalavu
bone therum nnu calculate panna they wanted to go up the tower.
I said Ok and took them to the rope car area - the rope car guy
refused to take them saying that these four have some weapons!!!
apram check pannina, they have a whole load of stuff from your
ammunition corner. Why did u guys do this nnu ketta, we do not
want to take any chances with Thols and so we need all of this
nnu solraanga. Sue, Ho and me had to bodily lift this quartet out!!"
Jas drinks some sparkling water, pours it on her head and drops
down.

Niti, Vani and Riya are going in circles around 172
- " some thing is changed. Air craft mathiri illiye...."

Giri announces: "Ok we are ready for the ride, all of u
can board 172 NOW..." Ho has a look of surprise but
Giri does not let anyone ask anything. Ellaraiyum ulle adaichi
gives a thumbs up signal to Roja. Fluidd mattum looking around
" Unnai kan theduthe, un mugam kanave ullam naduthe, vick
vick vick" BG from Meli. Fluidd blushes and becomes solid!!!

Ok here we go for our Seine ride.....

Bridal Shower

PARG 172 slides in to the river while the rest of the tourists are standing around – astonishment written large in all the faces. The usual photographer tries to gain entry but Tamil, our IF Marshal pushes him out promptly.

Some body makes an appearance – Pat walks in with a huge smile. She winks at the duo and indicates that all is in place. Fluidd is now fretting – Ho switches on the tape recorder which blares: " manamagale, marumagale vaa vaa" . Well, bridal shower starts.

The boat is going under the first bridge – Alexander Bridge, which is the oldest one, built during the visit of Alexander, the great.
The commentary is on – looks like Fluidd managed to "suttufy" the cd from the neighbouring boat before boarding!!!!

Eljay and Sue are in charge of the games. Fluidd gets seated on a high chair – so high that she has a "bird's eye view" of all the activities around her!!!

Game no 1: Recipe game: Kavi's face lights up but the duo have an impish smile!!! Sheets of paper and pens are passed around to the members. The time is 15 mins. All are asked to write recipes – as many as possible – and the entry with maximum no. wins a prize. " your time starts now" – all are feverishly writing – Supree and Kavi are writing in jet speed. The duo also are making an effort – a feeble one!!! " Time" shouts Sue and the papers are collected. There is a sudden thudddd noise – Eljay faints; reason?? The duo have already printed out 120 recipes from the recipe thread and claim the prize!!! Supree is rolling on the ground protesting but Giri has a cool explanation – "paper with maximum nos wins, who said anything about not printing??" The prize is a "griller cum toaster" – Jas is happy, she does not need one anyways!! – Giri receives it, puts the printed sheets inside and……. The duo Hand it over to the bride to be……..172 echoes with applause –

Game No 2: The IF ians are divided in to groups of 3. Each group is given a roll of shrink wrap. One person is chosen as the bride and the rest have to cover the bride fully with the shrink wrap. The well wrapped bride and her group get the prize.Ahaaa, Meli's group wins – her group mates are smart enough to choose "Mellisa" as the bride and needless to say that she got totally wrapped!!!!

Pat goes around whispering some thing in to the ears of all members and all seat themselves - in a big circle, along the railings leaving a large, wide space in the center. Riya blindfolds Fluidd and leaves her in the center. Niti whispers in to Fluidd's ears –" this is a silent game, we are all running around in the center in circles. You have to catch atleast one of us but u can't call out any name, ok?" – Fluidd nods but has a sad look – " che intha Roja lied , where is my viscoelastic??? Hmmmm" .There is pin drop silence on the deck – can not imagine the IF ians like this, ever!!! –

Ttttttaaaa tttaaanggggggggg – Pat brings in a long vazhai elai kattu and rolls it on the floor. The leaves unfold and one leaf gets up with a blindfold and plastered mouth!!! Leaf getting up??????? Yup, Mr.Viscoelastic was hidden in the elai kattu for so long that he took the shape of vazhai elai!!!! He slowly gets up and comes back to his original self but has no clue as to where he is!!!! The IF ians are dying to comment – he is tall and handsome, well suited to our beautiful Fluidd – but they have strict orders, absolutely NO NOISE – Giri and Roja go around softly with a cane in their hands and fingers on their lips – Eljay is dying to say something and act her part – IF Romance Killer – but has to obey the duo. Eljay can not live with out seeing Vaathu and without keeping a watchful eye over ACD/Priya and so remains silent. All are trying hard to suppress their laughter.

Mr.Viscose runs helter-skelter in the center and Fluidd is dong the same with stretched hands . this game goes on for about 10 mins and suddenly she hits against some one. Glad to have caught some one, she holds on tightly and removes her blindfold. LO and behold, she is hugging Viscoelastic who is trying to free himself not knowing that it is his darling wife to be!!! Fluidd hugs more and more – relieved at last!! – The IF ians burst out laughing and Viscoelastic finally SMELLS Fluidd – che avanga perfume ppa, neengalaa vera ethanum imagine pannina, athukku duo is not responsible!!!

The deck is exploding – one more happy day in the diary of IF ians – Seine has never experienced any thing like this, the river is so happy that it sways gently to the tune of "I just called to say I love u" - Giri mentally flies to Dubai, Sue misses Nair baiyya – Riya leads Kavi to the floor to dance like Aish……….. Sue comes out of her daydreaming and stops Kavi….. Roja laughs hysterically… what a perfect day????????

has put all on top of a mountain - ellarum floating
and waiting for Fluidd to come out with her story.

Giri, eppo varuvaayo, enthan kali theera". Can not
tolerate the IF ians floating around in dreams and
so decides to create a small chaos!!!

Roja goes out and comes back with a few serial
characters - It is quite some time since the lounge
had a song sequence and so......

IF Tamil Serials' fans' Lounge. – Eerie silence.

Pat is sitting in a corner with her hands on her head. Her eyes are red – anger?? crying??? we have no clue – she has been stressed out for the past few months - with the fast track classes and course work, she is updating Vaathu serial as well – very regimental about it because she knows that one whole load of IF ians are saved from the torture of watching that trash – she has not thought twice about making herself the sacrificial goat!!!

Ho is sitting next to Pat and tries to divert her attention. "Pat, Roja kitte solli one more heaven trip adikkalaama??? " If looks could kill, Ho would be ashes by now – Pat gives such a stare and goes back to her "hands on head" position!!!

Sue musters courage and makes the next move " Pat, shall we ask Mr.Canseeall to come to the lounge again and ask about this serial?" – Sue is worried to even say the word "vaathu" – lest Pat bites her!!!!
" Canseeall, my foot, he predicted 900 episodes but the way this is going vaathu would not have even learnt A,B,C,D by then" – Pat mutters under her breath and refuses to divorce her hands from her head!!!

Eljay and Riya tentatively go near Pat and touch her shoulders – Pat grunts heavily – " keep off for your own safety" grunt – the duo shudder!!!

Niti, Fluidd, Jas, Nallu, Usha,Vani,Pokkiri, Tamil, Meli,Caryn,Supree, Suram and a load of others are just watching – none of them follow vaathu – blessed souls – Pat looks up once ,sees all their faces and goes back to her position – " intha faces ai partha enakku kovam kovamaa varathu, nanum ivanga mathiri illame poittene….." – thus thinks her mind!!!

Sue and Ho are keeping a watch on the door " Roja enge tholainje?? Diwali, Pongal, Karthigai nnu damaram adichittu, ipppo aalaiye kanum???!!!"

Think of the devil and there she comes – Roja walks in casually and has a surprised look " hello folks, whats up???" – chirps happily.
Jas barks " nothing is up – all is down – where are the promised crackers???"
Roja blinks but the smart Caryn is attentive as always – she does not take her eyes off the maddie and detects the hidden mad gleam " appada, Roja is acting, she is all set for the promised festivals" – however, decides to play along and sports an innocent, dry look.

Giri enters followed by 2 men dragging some heavy card board
cartons. What do those cartons have??? Pandora's box??????

The noise disturbs Pat – she looks up once and sees the duo – "May day cry kuduthene, enge tholainjinga rendu perum???" - her voice is gruff with all the tension and anger. Roja winks and Giri gives a thumbs up!!! Roja roars " Let the show begin"

The 2 men quickly erect a podium. They both get on the podium and bring out a few puppets from the cartons. . Pat is furious" enna Roja, na enna pappa vaa??? Puppet show nadathare?" Roja gives Pat some lemon juice and says" hold on, u will have some fun watching this" – Pat calms down - temporarily.

The show begins. The first puppet is vaathu , the second one is creep DSTR(Danda Soru Thadi Rayan) and the third is illegal Rekha. Creep doll is hung on a higher level and the other two are looking up to the man of their lives. Creep has a smile which makes vaathu drool (BG music- Nethu rathiri Yamma!!!) Vaathu tries to go and touch creep but creep runs and hides behind illegal( BG changes to katti pidi katti pidi da!!) Illegal and creep hug each other and vaathu tries to separate both. Creep gives another smile at vaathu and the jollu from vaathu runs like a river. Illegal claps her hands and enjoys the teasing ( BG – aaadra rama, aadra ramaa…) Creep Kicks vaathu with his legs and vaathu holds on to his leg crying (BG – Yuirin yuire yuirin yuire, unathu madiyil…)

Finally vaathu realizes that she is being teased by them and decides to disappear. Entry by DG and Maasu puppets. Vaathu falls at the feet of DG and cries. Maasu takes a stick and beats creep to a pulp. Palani hiding behind Gaja, Thanam with Siva, Sumathi carrying Suresh on her hip arrive on the scene next – all provide back ground movements. Maasu leads the Patti crowd ( BG – veera vel, vetri vel). Suddenly, there is a blinding reflection – Annamalai and Radha puppets enter to give support to creep and illegal. The stage looks like a battle field.

Vaathu sits and does an oppari (BG -ABCD, unga appan dhadi, vantha vaadi, varatti podi)Creep again smiles at vaathu and drains her of all her body juices – she can't cry any more, no tears left ……. Finally, there comes a big strong puppet … oh God, it is none other than our own PATRAJ….. Pat beats every one black and blue – looks
like Mahishaasuramardhini – creep under one leg begging for life, Maasu under the other repenting his sins, vaathu's neck held by a hand making her breathless, illegal's hair on the other hand – Pat does an "Aaananda Thandavam" and the lounge is jubilant!!!

Original Pat's face is relaxed now – tentative smile… real smile….. small laugh and she starts rolling on the floor laughing!!!! The rest of the IF ians are happy as well – the lounge was like a hot oven – even with all the aircons running high – Pat's body temperature was so high!!! Lounge is cool now and all are laughing. Caryn is still not fully convinced – " there must be some thing more." –

Roja and Giri bring a gunny bag full of crackers – 10,000 walas, 20, 000 walas – the crowd adjourns to the open yard. The well beaten puppets are tied to a pole and the crackers are heaped on the puppets. Pat is given a candle to light THE one wick which will ignite the whole heap. Amidst thunderous claps she lights the wick and the whole neighborhood is deafened by the noise from the crackers ( BG – deepavali, deepavali deepavali neethandi…) The VM Patti and PM Patti gumbal is all charred to ashes – Pat is happy, she hugs Roja and Giri – all set to continue her updates!!!!!!!
