They reached Uri after about a week of incessant driving, accompanied with some uninvited breaks. But the real journey began from this place as yet to be faced was what was called the "Line of Separation" i.e. there began the part of Kashmir, illegally captured by Pakistan.

"I guess we'll have to wait for the night!!" Came an already considered suggestion from Aalekh.

"Right!! Usmaan ne yahiin milne ko kaha tha. I think we should wait by the side"

"Are you sure hum uspar trust kar sakte hain??"

"I'm sure of it!! Tumhaari guarantee nahi le sakti…" She said in a frustrated tone. "Hey look, koi aa raha hai, shaayad vohi Usmaan hai!!"

"Shaayad matlab kya?? Tum pehchanti nahi??"

"Aalekh will you stay still for a while for heaven's sake??"

The person came to them. He had disguised his identity under a shawl. Ritu didn't respond as she wasn't sure of him being the desired person. The person kept staring at them through the glass pane and Aalekh stepped out as he couldn't take that anymore.

Without wasting even a second, the person was out with his gun. Aalekh didn't expect that, but still he was prepared to face such situation.

"Ritu!! Drive foreward!!" He commanded as that person's gun fell victim to his kick.

Ritu shifted to the driving seat but till then, a few more men from that territory gathered around to fight the stranger (Aalekh). Ritu knocked off two of them by hitting the jeep against them and the rest three couldn't survive Aalekh's punches. One of them did try and shoot them as Aalekh boarded the car back but in vain. They escaped.

"Tumhe lagi to nahi??" Asked Ritu.

"How does it matter?? Humare paas worry karne ke aur bahut se mudday hain…."

"Jaise ki???"

"Jaise ki ab hum Usmaan se kaise milenge??"

"Even I was thinking that……..kahiin aur refuge lena bhi dangerous hai!! Ab kya karein??"

"Vapas chalein??" Came something that was unexpected from Aalekh.

"Aalekh we can't afford to be in the eye!! Vahan hum un logon se lad ke aaye hai, we're spotted……we can't go back!!!"

"I know but…..do we have an option??"

"Jee Janaab!!" Came an alien voice from the back.

Ritu looked back and was stunned to find Usmaan hiding there.

"Tum yahan kaise aaye??" She asked.

"Ye Usmaan hai??" Asked Aalekh.

"Jee Janaab!! Un logon ke saamne aapse milta to shaayad aapki madad ke liye zinda na bachta. To mujhe yahan chipna pada."

"Smart enough!! Ab hume….."

"Aap chaliye mai raasta batata hun. Bandobast bahut acha nahi hai, par aur kuch ho na saka."

"Hum manage kar lenge!!" As Usmaan directed, Aalekh drove down to a inconspicuous area where they were allotted a not-so-well built cottage.

"Sahab!! Yahan ke gaaonwalon ko lagta hai ki ye jagah manhoos hai!! Isliye yahan koi dekhta tak nahi….agar aap log bina hulchal ke yahan rahenge to kisi ko bhanak tak nahi hogi!!"

"Dhanyavaad Usmaan bhai!!" Said Aalekh.

"Jee Sahab!! Ab mai chalta hun, Aap logon ka yahan se raat ke 2 baje tak nikalna theek hoga. Mai aapko lene aaunga, us se pehle bahar mat aaiyega. Chalta hu!!"

Ritu smiled and Aalekh handed some money to him as he left.

"Kya dekh rahi ho??" Asked Aalekh as he saw Ritu inspecting the place.

"Jagah to achi hai…..ye log bhi na, andhvishwaas me aakar kabhi kabhi bahut bevakoofi bhari harkatein karte hain…"

"Ye bhi to ho sakta hai ki is jagah par sach much kuch problem ho!!"

"Oh come-on Aalekh!! Don't tell me you believe in all this….Thodi well constructed hoti to aur bhi achi lagti ye jagah. Aur vo…..(taking him by his hand)…….vo jagah dekh rahe ho, Sunset kitna acha lagta hoga yahan se!!" She smiled.

"Jab hoga tab dekh lenge!! Filhaal tumhe yaad dila dun ki hum yahan site-seeing ke liye nahi aaye hain!!" He said while keeping his bag down.

"I know, par raat ke do baje tak to hume rukna he hoga naa, aur abhi to kareeban barah ghantey baaki hain….." Said Ritu in a disappointed tone. "I hate this wait period……ek taraf humare paas khone ke liye ek pal bhi nahi hai aur dusri taraf wait karne ke sivay koi chara nahi hai!!"

All the while, Aalekh was constantly admiring Ritu, forgetting all his worries for that moment. Ritu went on speaking about their mission and Rajveer when she noticed his stare.

"Tumhe kya hua?? Theek to ho???"

"A thing of beauty is a joy forever..."

"What??"

"Apne peeche dekho!!"

Ritu looked back at the ruined wall behind her and acquired a smile looking at a small wild flower rising out of it. She kept looking at it for a while when she felt Aalekh's Arms around her. He plucked that flower, came closer and presented it to her.

"For you!!" He smiled.

Their eye-contact remained intact for a few minutes. None of the two ready to give-up. Though it was unintentional from Ritu's side, she was kind-of liking it…..she herself didn't knew why because she was more than convinced that she loved Rajveer. Suddenly, there was a kind of noise outside which disrupted their stare. Both of them stood avoiding each other's sight but none dared to speak. Finally, Ritu spoke up.

"Map tumhaare paas hai na?? Mujhe kuch dekhna hai……" She said this to ease the passion that had build-up around. As she was about to go away from him, he held her back.

"Aalekh mera haath….."

"Shhhhhh…….Close your eyes…."

Ritu thought that she was feeling uncomfortable, but actually, she was aroused, aroused by the intensity of his eyes, aroused by the passion in his touch. She just kept looking at him.

"I said……close your eyes….."

She did as he said and could feel his hold loosening on her. She was worried but still didn't dare to open her eyes. After a while when she did, she found him missing!!

KNOCK………KNOCK………KNOCK………KNOCK

"Raaaaaaajjjjjjjj!!!!!! Goli kaise lagi???" Naina was dumbstruck seeing him bleeding profousely. "Raj tum theek ho na??" Her tears had already started flowing.

"Naina please ro mat!! Mai theek hu………Get the first-aid fast……"

Naina's hands were shaking like anything. It was the first time Rajveer was hurt that bad in front of her. She couldn't bear him wincing in pain. Even his head was hurt.

"Press it hard Naina…………Aaaahhhhh………!!!!" He shouted.

"Pagal ho gaye ho kya?? Goli lagi hai Raj mai………" she closed her eyes tightly.

"Naina it will be…………press it hard damn it!!! Goli lagi nahi hai bas chu ke nikli hai"

Naina followed his instructions but could not look at his wounds………as she finished dressing, she burst out crying.

"Naina……mai theek hun naa!!!"

"Baat mat karo mujhse………maine kaha tha aaj kahiin mat jaana mera jee ghabra raha hai magar meri baat maan ne ke siva to tum sab kuch kar sakte ho na!!" She was still crying hard.

"Naina pagal mat bano!! Mai apna mission beech me chor ke apni Army se gaddari to nahi kar sakta na??"

"Vo Army jo tumhe already dushmano ke haathon marne ke liye chod chuki hai!!"

"Is mission me mere sabse ache dost aur tumhaare bhai ne apni jaan gava di Naina, aur ab ye mere liye meri jaan se bhi zyaada important hai!!"

"Aur ye socha hai ki agar tumhe kuch ho gaya to mera kya hoga??"

Rajveer kept looking at her for a while. He turned her and wiped her tears.

"Kya hua?? Dard ho raha hai??" She asked innocently.

"Haan!! Par tumhare rone se………"

Naina hugged him and he ran his fingers through her hair.

"Mere sawaal ka jawaab tumne abhi tak nahi diya!!"

"Agar mujhe kuch ho gaya Naina, to mai phir bhi yehi chahunga ki tum sahi salamat aur khush…………nahi, bahut khush raho!!! Tumhe koi aisa mil jaaye jo tumhe mujse bhi zyaada chaahe!!" He too had tears in his eyes while saying that.

"Is baat ko kehte hue jitni takleef umhe hui hai na Raj, us se kahiin zyaada mujhe sunte hue hui hai……tumhe koi haq nahi hai mujhse ye kehne ka kyunki tumhaare siva ye Naina apni zindagi me kabhi kisi ko jagah nahi degi!! NEVER!!!"

They hugged each other tightly.

"Aaaahhhhhh………"

"Sorry………lagi kya??"

"Nahi to……"

"Raaajjjj!!!! Ab sach me maar khaaoge, chalo aaraam kar lo"

He dozed off with his head on her lap and she caressing his forehead gently.

His sleep was abducted with some commotion around but his smile was intact as he could still feel her touch on his forehead.

"You don't always have to be with me Naina!! Because you are within me……Aaj mai is mission ka sabse bada risk uthaane jaa raha hun. Aane wale waqt me zindagi aur maut ka faisla ho jayega…….aur humare pyaar ka bhi………I love you Naina!!" A tear trickled down his eyes but it helped him summon courage for what he was planning to do next……!!

"Assalaam Walekum Khan Sahab!!" Rajveer finally managed to call Zaheer Khan after years of his struggle to reach Keran and get through his network.

"Hum ajnabiyon se baat nahi kiya karte!!"

"Ajnabee to mai nahi hu Khan Sahab….shubhchintak zarur hu, batana chahta hu ki aapka base khatre me hai!! Ho sake to use bacha lena!!" Saying this Raj disconnected the call and turned on his heels to escape that area. He knew his call was being tapped and they would trace him any moment and he could not afford to lose the game this time.
