[SIZE=7>PART 21: (Karva chauth scene in next part)
Kripa reached home in the evening after finishing her meetings and making a decision regarding the marketing of her boutique. She decided to call her boutique, "KRIPA'S," as Angad had suggested. She was in good spirits and was humming a song, as she entered her room. She was still savoring the taste of Angad's passionate kisses in his office earlier that afternoon.
She was surprised to see Prithvi in the room.
"Prithvi, aaj itni jaldi kaise aa gaye?"
"Tumhey ek surprise dena tha," he smiled and hid something behind his back
Kripa was in no mood to get a surprise from him, "mazaak mat karo….batao kya hai?"
Prithvi pulled out some brochures of the new high-rise apartment complex, "dekho…hamara naya ghar…"
Kripa was stunned, "kya kaha tumney? Humein naye ghar ki kya zaroorat hai Prithvi?" Kripa turned around, trying to hide her annoyance.
Prithvi came forward, face to face with her, "Kripa 2 mahiney mein hamari shaadi ko 1 saal ho jaayega…main chahta hoon hum apni anniversary naye ghar mein banaye…..that is my anniversary gift to you….."
"Prithvi …par abhi apna business tho jumm ney do…abhi itna kharcha kyon kar rahey ho?"
"Kripa…tumharey liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hoon…..don't worry about the financing…aaj kal itney achche mortgage mil jaate hain…..bas tum haan keh do…"
"Nahin Prithvi, main haan nahin keh sakthi…..I don't have a good feeling about this.."
Prithvi was on knees, "Kripa…..please main tumhey khush dekhna chahta hoon……mainey abhi tak tumhey kuch nahin diya hai…..please haan keh do….," he had his hands folded and was begging.
Kripa could not say "no" right away, "theek hai….main sochti hoon…par abhi mujhey neeche dinner ka intezaam karna hai……." She walked away, relieved that it was close to dinner time.
At dinner, Dilip announced, "Beti kal tumhara pehla karva chauth hai…yaad hai na?"
Kripa looked up from her plate and glanced at Angad, 'haan papa…yaad hai….aap sab log time se aa jaaiye ga….chaand kal jaldi niklega…..," she smiled mischievously at Angad.
"Aur Prithvi….hamare ghar ki parampara hai ki pehli karva chauth ko pati apni patni ko kuch gehney laa kar deta hai…." Dilip smiled at Prithvi, who smiled back and nodded.
Angad smiled to himself and thought, "hmm…gehney?"
Prithvi, then made an announcement, "mainey socha hai ki main apni first marriage anniversary par apni priya patni ko yeh ghar gift karoon….." he held the brochure in front of everyone.
Kripa was shocked, "P…Prithvi…..lekin…"
"I know Kripa……tum abhi tayyar nahin ho…..par mainey soch liya hai……kyon Angad aur papa dekhiye…..achche apartment hai na…..yeh bahut achchi location par bhi hain….mere naye office aur Kripa ke boutique ke paas….ab humein itna commute bhi nahi karna padhega…."
Dilip smiled, "I am proud of you my son……ab tumhey apni responsibilities samajh aaney lagi hain……kyon Angad, don't you agree, our boy has finally grown up!"
Angad was silent and kept playing with the food on his plate; for a moment he thought his heart had stopped beating, "Hmm…kya kaha aapney chachaji?…..Oh…..lekin itni jaldi kya hai Prithvi? Abhi apna business to set kar lo….aur I can't imagine the house without you…" his voice was breaking, as he looked at a tearful Kripa.
"Beta…ek din tho aisa hona hi tha….aakhir hamara ghar itna bada bhi nahin hai….ab yeh log apni family wagarah start karna chahengey……Prithvi I think it is a great idea….paise ki chinta mat karo….mere savings mein kuch paise hain jo down payment mein kaam aa jaayengey……Kripa beti tum khush nahin lag rahi?" Dilip asked
Kripa just got up to put the plates away, "nahin Papa….aapko akele chhodney ka mann nahin hai….."
"Arre Angad hai na? Ab Angad bhi shaadi ker ley, tho uski bahu yahan reh legi aur meri seva kar legi…kyon Angad?"
Angad also got up, his eyes still moist with the thought of separating from Kripa, "Chachaji…..jo aap theek samjhey…." And went upstairs to his room.
Prithvi looked at Angad leaving, "Mujhey lagta hai Angad bura maan gaya….aakhir main aur wo is ghar mein saath saath badhe huye hain…..main baat karta hoon…."
Kripa just cleaned up and tried to hide her disappointment and anger at Prithvi.
Prithvi went to Angad's room. Angad was sitting at his desk, pretending to work on his computer, when he saw Prithvi walk in.
'Yaar Angad….tu bura maan gaya…..main jaanta hoon tujhey mere bina achcha nahin lagega…" Prithvi put his arm around a seated Angad.
"Nahin Prithvi yeh baat nahin hai…main chahta hoon tu independent ban jaaye….par mujhey teri timing theek nahin lagi…..tera business…"
"Angad….baar baar business ki baat mat kiya kar…..main jaanta hoon main kya kar raha hoon….aur papa ney bhi keh diya hai wo down payment ke liye cash dengey…..ab koyi chinta nahin……tu nahin jaanta Angad main Kripa sey kitna pyaar karta hoon…uske liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hoon…..main ussi ke liye yeh ghar lena chahta hoon…."
"Par Prithvi Kripa ki baton sey tho nahin kag raha tha ki wo bhi yehi chahti hai……" Angad tried to dissuade Prithvi
"Tu nahin jaanta auraton ko….wo kehti kuch hain aur chahti kuch hain…"
"par Kripa aisi nahin hai….wo jo sochti hai wohi kehti hai…."
"Angad! Kripa meri patni hai….jitna achchi tarah main ussey jaanta hoon…koyi nahin jaanta"
"Prithvi….I think you are wrong….jahan tak mera khayal hai…Kripa does not care for these material things……teri reading galat hai….."
"Nahin Angad…..jaanta hai Kartik ki wife bh ussey chhod kar chali gayi thi kyonki uski demands wo poori nahin kar sakaa….baad mein pata chala ki uskey boss ke saath chakkar tha, kyonki wo zyaada ameer tha….."
"Prithvi! Kripa Kartik ki wife nahin hai! Just try to understand her God damn it!"
"Angad…I think tujhsey yeh stress bardasht nahin ho raha….chal morning mein baat karengey…..goodnight….." Prithvi walked out.
Kripa paced up and down in her room; she was desperate to talk to Angad, but Prithvi had been in his room for quite sometime, and she was really upset with Prithvi for taking a unilateral decision. She saw Prithvi leave; he took his car keys and went somewhere.
Kripa tip-toed into Angad's room and shut his door from inside. She looked at Angad and ran to him. Angad got up and hugged her, "don't worry Kripa…..main sambhaal loonga…"
Kripa sobbed on his chest, "main kahin nahin jaaoongi tumharey bina….."
Angad stroked her hair and wiped her tears, "did someone ever tell you how pathetic you look when you cry…," he smiled and kissed her eyes.
She tried to smile but hugged him tightly and said, "Angad…humein Prithvi ko saaf saaf sab bataa dena chahiye….ab main tumsey door nahin reh sakti…..uskey saath ek hi kamrey mein rehna bhi achcha nahi lagta….."
Angad kept stroking her hair, "Kripa….itna aasaan nahin hai yeh karna…..mujhey sochney ka waqt do…..filhaal jaisa chal raha hai…chalney do….."
