It was the knock on the door that woke up the couple. Angad stretched lazily while Kripa just blinked. Kripa reached the door first and opened it to reveal a waiter on the other end asking her about their stay and want of any accessories and necessaries.
Kripa was almost going to decline when Angad came and hugged her from behind. Then placing his head on her shoulder which had tensed and loosened at his mere touch, he said, "No, Thank you. I have got the most important necessity of my life right in my arms. What more can a man want, Right sweetu?"
This was followed by a wink due to which Kripa blushed unknowingly but yet angry at him for calling her 'sweetu'.
He continued ignoring her stare,
"But yes, could you refill our flask with lukewarm water. We would prefer it to the chilled water you provide"
Kripa made a mental note to kill him when they were alone. She hated lukewarm water.
'Dumb ass' she muttered under her breath.
The waiter by this time had walked in and was amazed at the room's condition.
Before leaving the room he said informally "Looks like you guys had fun last night."

Angad was amused, in fact very- very amused. The venomous and murderous looks which Kripa had been blessing or should I say cursing him with were so hilarious. He was surprised at his own behavior aka conduct.
Hmm. Well anyways. This was just a guise. And he had got so involved in his so pretended character. He had to start focusing on the mission. There days were going to be numbered unless they very extremely on their guard. The scrupulous rainfall the region had been receiving was making the air quite sultry. He hated it when his body started to show signs of the impact the weather had been having. Weather – nature – life – God everything was so beautifully inter linked. Life of man – money – greed – hunger for power - the drawbacks. And then death – cold- scary- treacherous – terrible – the thought itself torturous. He knew he was arrogant at times. But that was the way he had been brought up in. He was a prince- thereby arrogance was in his blood. This was natural inheritance. But he was also quite a good person. Then why the hell people were get intimidated by him. He knew that in such a profession, it was quite strength. But practically, it also made him lonely. He had to get some introspection done. Hey now wait a moment why was he having such psychological thoughts. Ummmmmm….. Yeah rite. It was all because of "her highness". All she had muttered was that she was going to some church. He was now stranded all alone at the porch while Ms. Know-it-all must be strutting all over the place. How he hated her or really did he? Damn it!!! He stepped into the museum and was immediately in awe with the majestic structure and organized specimens. 'Specimens? – what the hell was he thinking??' They were exhibits not specimens.
His eyes were drawn to a scabbard that was put up on the far side of the wall. It was studded with gems and appeared extremely priceless. He walked towards it and found himself gaping at the austerity of the arrangement. It was so breath taking. But amidst this fascination his instinct told him that something was wrong. Agreed - that the museum was situated on the extremes of a commuter belt. This was a residential colony. But then the security system? He was about to twirl and walk way when his sharp eyes caught something strange. At the extreme end of the golden scabbard, there were a couple of gems missing. He slowly observed the sequence. Yup – an emerald and a topaz were missing.
Suddenly, he had a brain wave.
