Mrunal struggled with the gate/door, and opened it as it creaked

“How did u like the first night?” Lynn looked around trying not to be shock with the lack of furniture

“Its was good”

“NOOOO It was not, I threw up and Aai is afraid of the bathroom” Jaidrith told everyone promptly

“What happened?” Lynn was shocked

“Oh nothing” Mrunal dragged Jai closer and literally shut his mouth as Aatreya watched with concealed amusement

“Well I bought you some food” Lynn handed her the basket

“I made one with oats, one with quinoa one with flour” Lynn mumbled

“Oh no its fine” Mrunal nodded

“Thank you” she looked at Aatreya briefly

She hated eye contact with him

“Druuu” she whispered pulling his hand away

“Hum nikalte hai haan” Lynn smiled understanding the little boy’s awkwardness

She was sure there was a secret door at her “Aunt Mrs Gomes’” flat and this man was going to disappear with her heart beat

“I like all your throw pillows, and cushions” Lynn bend down to pick up a couple to fight the unease

Mrunal’s eyes were fixated on the toilet

Aatreya stood outside the door and looked straight at her, Jai was doing his business inside

He came out after washing his hands a few minutes later with a BIG smile on his face

“When I threw up last night there was a monster on the window, there is nobody now… its gone” he clicked his wet fingers and water sprayed

He giggled

“Looks like he is scared of you” he muttered bending down and meeting his eyes

“I am not scary”

“No you are not”

“Dhru… towel” Mrunal tried to distract him

“Thanks” Mrunal spoke pointedly to Lynn who was looking at her phone now

Mrunal had gotten a call from Deb Sen

She would call him back on Monday morning on her way to work

Mrunal felt her shoulders visibly relax with the sun outside and two adults in the living room

She wanted someone in the house

Aatreya was showing Jai something funny on the phone

Lynn was helping her unload the breads into Mrs Gomes new Samsung frig in the kitchen

“I told my husband I want to make this into a kids bedroom and turn the living room into a open kitchen” she whispered

Mrunal looked at her worried

“I was going to buy it, but Mendy na ekdum non creative hei”

“Oh”

“You can do it, that way the kid can have his own bedroom, you guys can have”

“Umm”

“Do u have a husband? “Or partner”

“Oh no” Mrunal blurted unwittingly

“I mean… you can use the bedroom” Lynn nodded awkwardly

“Thanks for the bread, I have a lot of food now” Mrunal discouraged further conversation on the topic

Mrunal furiously stepped out to see where Jai was he was leaning into Aatreya’s phone

“He cant watch some websites”

“Its Disney” he said quietly

“Ah umm”

“Atty chal rey” Lynn urged

Aatreya stood up

Lynn smiled and said goodbye

“Thanks for helping him but I can take care of him”

“I know that” Aatreya paused inside the doorway as Lynn went down the stairs. He was an extremely patient man who rarely lost his temper but this woman was driving him crazy

Jai looked at Aatreya longingly

Aatreya waved to him

“thanks” Mrunal urged him on

“You can either acknowledge I am the Dad or you can agree we need a paternity” he whispered under his breath

“Uh… umm” Mrunal looked like she had been hit by a truck

“We have to figure this out” he said, hands in his pockets rocking on the balls of his feet

“Thank you for checking in… I will figure it out” she said stubbornly

“In that case… we need to meet with a lawyer present” he whispered

Turned and waved at Jaidrith Rao with a smile and left her

Mrunal will have to think rationally.

There is no way out now. She has to face it sooner or later. Even if decides to move from this flat still she can't avoid Aatreya anymore.

The guy as of now has not been unreasonable at all.

Dread & Peace

Mother and son had a terrible night at the new place. The anxiety did them in. Atty's involvement might actually bring the kid out of his doldrums. The mom is another matter.

Trust & Toilet

The kid is already gelling with his dad. Atty is so patient with him. He will be a good dad.

Mrunal will have to face this whether she likes it or not. Atty is not about to go away. He wants to be a part of their life, at least Jai's.
