Both Smrita and Lekha flat out lied to Raanav on his face. His experience as a lawyer helped him catch it. Smrita has been exposed now and he will be watching everything that comes out of her mouth. She will not be able to pretend for long.

Both Raanav and Satyen are right to some extent. Raanav's own attitude did encourage Smrita. Satyen did pass the buck.

Satyen had the bigger responsibility here as the father and husband. Did he realize before that they had this attitude or did he just realize that when Viveka came into their life? Picking a fight with either one is not the way to resolve it. An open conversation is what is needed.

Colors & Contrary

Dadi was giddy with excitement. Varsha was enjoying every minute of the attention Viveka noticed. The god bharai was going to be a grand event, in June or July. But Dadi had something lined up for every month

Afterall just like many women in their 70s Dadi wished for a grandson

Akash had got into a big fight with her a couple days ago pointing out how happy he was with 4 daughters and how insulting it was to him when Dadi kept muttering

She spent her days looking up panchang and other predictive tools to determine if it was going to be a boy.

The twins had texted Viveka pictures of Dadi’s calculations from Naina’s whiteboard

Anu stayed away from all the Srivastav drama

Savi was disappointed she was not going to visit this evening

Dadi was chirpy and active and uncontrollable. Her sisters were not here yet, Varsha was getting a facial upstairs

She had played video games for a couple hours with Harshu and Piyush and his friends

She was done early this afternoon she thought of going to JNU but changed her mind and showed up at Bua’s

She missed Papa

He was at work and would head home soon she was told.

She went upstairs to take a nap afterwards FTed her friends and her JNU homies, and when she returned her sisters, and Ma and papa were allin attendance

“Arey wah”

Ma and Naina were in deep conversation

“Kya hua?”

“Naina is saying Dadi apparently wanted Fa to fly Anil Chachu’s family down for tonight”

“YOU ARE sh---g me”

“No” Naina laughed

For a second time froze, Viveka and Naina were besties again she thought

She sat by Naina gingerly

“How do like ur new job?”

“Didi did u win this game?” Diya hollered from the couch across the family room

“I won all the games babu” Viveka was just happy to be here with her family

There was no awkwardness no, uneasiness or anything

Ma and Papa flipped over her bracelet

Her sisters tried it on and left it on, with an agreement each one gets it for an hour

“Isko kaho betaaa… pehan legi” Dadi waltzed by with a large basket of glass bangles

“Oooh Dadi I love the purple” Naina grabbed some

Karuna was walking by with Piyush she grabbed orange

“KAHO betaaa… tum MAA ho, tum nahi samjhaogi to kaun kahega BATAO?” Dadi accused

“Ma, who itni saar kaach ki chhodiyan kaise pehnegi?”

“Jaise HUM nahi pahene hain?” Dadi was offended

“maine to nahi pehni” Anu waved her wrists

“Abhi tum koi baat to Mathur waali nahi kar paayi ho”

Dadi smacked her fondly

“Mujhe deejiye main pehen loongi, Viveka padhaati hai achha nahi lagega Amma” Anu explained

“Abhi kaha padhaati hai”

Viveka sat down and picked up 24 of every color for each wrist and set it aside

“Varshu apne kapde ke hisaab se pehenegi, tumhe to ek saal pehan nit hi”

“Dadi Raanav ko pasand nahi hai”

“Tumhare Dadu se bhi toot jaate the barabar, har doosre din” Dadi giggled

Dadi grunted and rolled his eyes

“Meri Ma ne kaha ab WAHIN se le lo” dadi chuckled indicating Dadu started paying for it

“Phir to Bauji ne ek bhi nahi todi hogi” Akash offered

“Ajee nahi… JYAADA”

Dadu got up and walked away

Dadi was proud

“Raanav utaarne ko kehta hai hamesha”

“Aise kaise, BATAO”

“Ufffff LAO I will wear it”

Viveka picked up a bunch in random

Ma handed the beautiful multicolored stack

She wore it on both wrists

Her phone buzzed

“did my Mum ask you to go with her to Europe?”

“Again?” she sent a smiley

They were still not “OK” after the whole Smrita incident

She didn’t hold grudges much

“Viveka”

“I did not get an invitation”

“Thanks”

“Happy?” she sent a smiley

(on)“The contrary” he said, driving towards where his Mum was

I think what Ranaav is doing is wrong too.

Since now he knows his mother doesn't like Viveka instead of forcing her to like Viveka he should just move out. Or let it be and not be influenced by mother opinion about Viveka or her family.

By confronting her again and again. Asking her to apologies or treating her like Lekha will only bring more bad blood and spoil things further.

Focus on your own bonding with Viveka. You guys have long way to go.

Lekha is never going to stand by Smrita in time of need. She is superficial. She will hire a help and let Smrita deal with her issuee rather than getting personally involved.

Smrita will realize Vievek's worth but that would need sometime.

Viveka is having a grand time at her maika. Like her sasural, there is no awkwardness or uneasiness.

Ranaav is still trying to find out if Smrita invited Viveka to go to Europe with her. Viveka told him she did not get an invite. So now he is going to confront his mother again. It would be interesting to see how Smrita is going to get out of this situation.

No matter how much Satyen and Raanav push the issue with Smrita, they are not going to change her anytime soon. Satyen already did start calling her out on her behavior and it just made matters worse. Now if Raanav joins the gang, Smrita will rebel.

Both Raanav and Satyen need to show Smrita that her opinion does not matter to them. That they are not on the same page as her.

Raanav himself is not a reformed man. He still harbors much of the prejudice. He is looking only at Viveka differently
