Unlike Satyen, Raanav takes Smrita's antics lightly. I feel it's because he is sure he's made an exception for his wife.. the rest are not so privileged. So he probably understands just where his mum is coming from.

Also the reason why he doesn't like being called out for his prejudice.. there is just NOTHING wrong with it!

But in his need to defend his mom, accusing Viveka of assuming things is terrible. Especially, when Smrita has never made any pretenses!

She told him about the morning and he still wants her to make efforts with Smrita! Absolutely loved Viveka standing up for her self, but I wish he'd be just as entitled and assertive with his mum too.

Felt sad for Vi. Glad she opened up to Raanav and said clearly that she wouldn't take this insult anymore. Hope Raanav acts on it. Satyen would like that too.

You have been building up to this for a while and Smrita finally is done keeping pretences. She genuinely believes that it is Viveka who has poisoned her husband ears as Satyen is continuously taking her to task.

Her belief is reinforced I assume as in the past she was never reprimanded..for her outlook towards middle class etc. Satyen has not managed to convince her that their is anything wrong in her behavior (towards Viveka or the Mathurs).

Parashar have /are a happy family, Smrita feels wronged... so her comment to Viveka to stop pretending to be civil is expected . So is her rant to Raanav.

Raanav. The natural conflict between the two important women in one's life. It is a dilemma of loyalty where we naturally want to defend how our loved one behaves or the norms of our house. A refusal to see what a outsider sees it.

"My Mum was upset this morning"

He is making excuses for her behavior. Something we all do initially to portray our loved one in good light. Of course he never expected that Vi had read his mom text. So when she for the first time calls out his mom behavior and comment...he comes with

Back to my Q are you going to run and hide the rest of ur life?”

I am struggling here. Is it that he will support her when she calls Smrita out ? But he himself just ignored Smrita text...avoidance..but guess not anymore 😏

Viveka has been honest and has not hidden vulnerability.

This was needed...look forward to where you take them from here 😍

Tell tale signs

His Dad was not talking to him due his behavior in the past, now he ran the risk of his Mum giving him the cold shoulder because of standing up for Viveka. Whatever he had said to Viveka must have sounded like shit, he could very well kick himself in his teeth right now

What an a—you are Raanav Parashar

She didn’t bring it up all day she saw the text and ignored it you forced her to ride with Mum and made it hell-sh for her

He sighed, he had just returned from a run he sat glumly in the rattan chairs outside his suite, Lekha and Rakshit were in the middle of a photo shoot of some sort

There were umbrellas and cameras and people milling around

He watched Lekha from a distance

He did not see himself with her…. No way! He shook his head shaking that thought off

She was everything Viveka was not

Exhibitionist, self absorbed self indulgent, complaining…….. childish

When he had chased after Viveka and gone over to Rohini after a fight

She had looked him in the eye and told him straight up

“Bachi nahi hoon Raanav jo Ma key aha bhagti hui aa jaaoon”

She probably cared for the book more than the hand crafted diamond bracelet

That said it all about her

He got up furiously showered longer than usual, changed into his night clothes

Went out to the atrium

Satyen looked at him and went back to reading a newspaper

He was old school he loved the paper news more

“Evening” Raanav muttered

“Evening beta” Satyen was civil tho not looking up from the paper

Raanav spent 20 minutes in work updates, Satyen was pleasant and involved

“Wheres Mum?”

“Upstairs I think” Satyen looked up at him

“Good deal” he nodded getting up

“Where is Viveka?”

“Umm.. at a book read”

“Rathiji to ghar par hain?”

“No he was in some situation”

“Rajeev Syal ne kaha all is good”

“Yeah now, but she can get a ride” he mumbled not very convincingly

“Hmm”

He went up the stairs Satyen watched him curiously, wondering what was cooking between the two

Smrita was sipping a drink as she did her hair meticulously for dinner

“Have u eaten? Why are u dressed for bed?”

It was quite the royal family u see, you cannot show up in bed clothes at dinner time

“I didn’t want to”

“Kya hua” she got up and gave him a hug and squeezed his arm and sighed audibly

“Did u tell Viveka you don’t need to be civil with each other?”

“Oh my God” Smrita looked for quick back up

“Mum… relax she even saw the text u sent me”

“SHE IS NOSY”

“Well you see Dad’s… so theres that”

“Did u tell Viveka you don’t need to be civil with each other?”

So Ranaav needs to confirm this with his mother? Does he not trust Viveka to have spoken the truth?

Ranaav, hope you get it at least now this was precise reason Viveka broke up with you on first occasion. Your prejudices (& mothers). Your sense of entitlement (& mothers).

If cannot be her partner in every which way then let her go and be happy in her own world. She will initially long for you but eventually find better things to care about in life.

“I am trying to be nice to your wife I don’t think she deserves it I am not sure what she is up to. I am not sure what she is saying to Dad, this has to stop….”

The fact that his mother could even write that message to him is cringeworthy. She is presuming that her son will abandon his wife sooner or later. Ranaav is wholly responsible letting her presume that.

Nisha, is this the reason you bought Abhishek bought in picture. Will we get to see insecure Ranaav with Abhishek in picture?

I so want Viveka to give back Smrita and show her true worth. Smrita is NOTHING on her own. Her only qualification is someone's wife.

Telltale signs.

Raanav asked his mum if she told Viveka they need not be civil to each other and then tells Smrita to relax. Raanav is never going to tell his mum to behave. I see him placating his wife when she tells him about his mother and doing the same to Smrita when she complains about middle-class Viveka. Raanav compares Lekha and Viveka. Lekha likes luxuries and jewels etc and he cannot see himself be with a person like Lekha. Viv he knows would love the book more than the handcrafted diamond bracelet.

Thank you, Nisha.

Does Raanav realise that his mother is just like Lekha? He need not tell others or even confront his mom, but accepting to himself is important right.

Maybe then, he can appreciate his father for having put up with his mother all through.

Raanav has opened the topic with his mom. Will he tell her how much he sees himself with Viveka and not with people like Lekha. Smrita needs to hear that so she can stop dreaming about finding a Lekha for him. Until then she will keep dissing Viveka.
