Kya hua tera vaada..What happened to your promise? Part 1

This is the remake of my old SS 'If you are in my life' with a few changes.

I dedicate this to fabulistic_fictions and Fiction_LL who want a PragHbir story from me.

A young handsome man is driving his car.

A middle aged lady rings him up.

He stops the car and picks up the phone.
She:Raghbir….Where are you?I told you…we have got a good project..so we have to celebrate.All great business men are coming for the party.We have to do the arrangements for the party.But you are so slack.Where are you?

The young man is Raghbir and the middle aged lady is his mother Kunti.
R:I’m coming now mom.I am on my way.Because of the traffic block only I’m becoming late.And..you don’t worry.I have made arrangements for the party.You don’t worry.
She is happy:Really?
R:Yes.Ok…I am waiting for your arrival.

Raghbir smiled and disconnected the call after biding her good bye.

Party...

The Hall is decorated grandly.
Suddenly the lights are off.The spotlight is focused on a beauty who is standing on stage.Raghbir's eyes are automatically turned to her.Her wheatish complexion has a special glow.Her oval face is cute.Her neck is empty.Her ear were adorned with simple ear studs.Her curly hair adds glamour to her.Her red frock makes her look stunning.

She sings...

Raghbir can't take his eyes off her.Her voice is soothing for him.
Raghbir whispers to Kunti:Mom..who is she?

KUNTI:She is a professional singer.Pragati.
Raghbir's lips move to utter her name:Pragati!

Kunti:She sings well.Right?

Raghbir:She has got a magical voice.

But just after the song,she disappeared.Raghbir's eyes search for her,but he fails in the attempt.

A few days later....

Raghbir is driving the car.He sees Pragati walking along the road.
R:Pragati!
She enters the bar.
R:Why did she go to the bar?
He parks the car and enters the bar.He sees Pragati on the stage.
She has worn a pink frock.Her pony tail is flying in the air with her movements.Her eyes look attractive.

She sings…

Her mesmerizing performance makes Raghbir lose himself in her.

Pragati moves away from the stage.A guy holds her hand.Suddenly she slaps him tightly.
She shouts:What do you think of me?I will sing anywhere if i'm paid...even if it’s a bar or a brothel.But i will not sell my self respect at any cost.
Pragati goes away.Raghbir is impressed by her attitude and personality.
R:She is such a nice girl.Very bold.I like her attitude.
He follows her.
R:Pragati!
She turns back and sees him.
Pragati is surprised:Who are you?How do you know my name?
R:Look at me carefully.Have you seen me anywhere?
She looks at him carefully.
Raghbir's marble coloured skin is glowing.His twinkling eyes are cute.His lips are giving a sweet smile which costs one million.
Pragati:Raghbir Malhotra?
He smiles:Yes.

Raghbir is a businessman & Pragati is a singer. Pragati does not mind performing anywhere as long as she gets paid. But glad that she does not compromise with her self-respect. Surprised that Praghbir knows each other from first.

Raghbir:So you remember me?You meet so many people everyday.Why you remember me so well?
Pragati did not know what to say.
She thinks:Yes..how did i remember him?
Raghbir smiles:By the way your song was too good.I forgot myself when i heard your beautiful voice.You are a nightingale.
He extends his hand towards her.

Raghbir::Shall we be friends?

Her eyes become red.Her voice become sharp.
PRAGATI:You rich guys think that it is easy to woo any girl.But Pragati is different from those silly girls you have seen Mr.Raghbir Malhotra.
Raghbir's face becomes dull.

R:You are misunderstanding me.
She ignores his words and walks away.
Slowly he smiles.

Raghbir:This is what makes her different.She is a nice girl.I love her attitude.


After a few days...
Pragati walking along the road.Some guys circle around her.One among them is the guy who caught her hand in the bar.
He:You don't want me to touch you?Just see what is going to happen to you for insulting me.
He catches her hand.
PRAGATI:Leave my hand.
Suddenly someone pushes him down.That is Raghbir.Pragati is surprised.He pushes him back.Raghbir falls down and hurts his forehead.
Pragati is shocked.He catches Pragati again.Raghbir gets up.All others guys circle around Raghbir.He beats everyone.
The other guy pushes Pragati.She falls down and her forehead hits the ground.Raghbir beats the other guy.Everyone runs away.Raghbir goes near Pragati.
R:Are you ok?
PRAGATI:Yes.
Pragati can't get up.Her ankle is sprained.Raghbir carries her in his arm.She is surprised.She could not resist staring at him.

Praghbir walks to a cottage near by.
Pragati comes back to her senses and becomes insecure.

Pragati:Where are you taking me to?

She is getting tensed.

Raghbir notices it.

Raghbir:Don’t be nervous.This place is safe for you and I am not a dirty rich brat like you think.

Pragati thinks: I don’t know why.I feel like trusting him.

The cottage is dark.There is just fire to give them light.
Both sit there.

He holds her leg.She became nervous.

Pragati:What are you doing?

Suddenly he twists her leg.

Pragati screams:Ahhh…

Raghbir:Now do you have pain?

Pragati moves his leg and realizes that she has no sprain now.Her face blossoms.

Pragati:I am feeling better now.Thank you very much.

He smiles.They both look at each other's eyes.
PRAGATI:I'm sorry.Because of me you also suffered.
R:No,it's ok.I did it to save you.Because i can't stand anyone hurting you.So it's not a suffering for me.

Pragati looks at him in disbelief.

Pragati:Why you can’t stand anyone hurting me?I am just a stranger for you.

Raghbir:I don’t know why.But I can’t see you hurt.That I know.And you are not a stranger for me.I have become your fan after listening to you sing.

She smiles.
Pragato:You are not bad like i thought.
R:All are not same Pragati.
PRAGATI:Sorry Sir.

R:Please don't call me sir.Call me Raghbir.
She smiles.
He extends his hand and asked her:Shall we be friends?
She smiles and holds his hand:Friends.
They both smile.
R:You sleep here.I will sleep outside.It's very late.Don't go out now.It's dangerous.
Raghbir goes out and sleeps.
She feels pity seeing him sleeping outside.
PRAGATI:A rich man like Raghbir Malhotra is sleeping outside like a beggar.
She takes the blanket and covers him.

Pragati goes inside.

She thinks:If my parents come to know that i'm here during night time they will misunderstand me.So i will hide it from them.
She rings up her mom Krithika.

As soon as Krithika took the phone, she asked her:Pragati,why have you not reached home yet?

Pragati:Mom...the programme is delayed.So the whole night i have to be in the party hall.I will come in the morning.

Kri:Take care of yourself.
PRAGATI:Ok mom.

The next morning...Raghbir opens his eyes.He realises that Pragati covered him with the blanket.He smiles.Pragati comes:Good Morning..
R:Good morning Pragati..how is your leg?
PRAGATI:I feel alright.Thank you for your first aid.

He smiles.

R:I will drop you home.

PRAGATI:No thanks.My family members will misunderstand us.So i will go by myself.Bye.

Raghbir:Ok.Bye.

Pragati steps out of the house.Raghbir feels sad.He feels that his better half is going away from him.

Pragati thinks:Why i feel sad while leaving the guest house?

Night...

Raghbir is in the terrace.Cool wind is blowing.He looks at the moon.He sees Pragati in the moon.He blinks his eyes.Still he sees her.

Pragati closes her eyes.He sees Raghbir.She opens her eyes with a smile.She feels shy..

Raghbir is so impressed with Pragati. Mesmerized in fact.

He helps her out and a friendship is formed.

Pragati unknowingly rejected Raghbir's friendship.

Those guys are so cheap that they tried to hold Pragati's hand.

Glad that Raghbir rescued Pragati.

Raghbir finally revealed to Pragati that e himself is Raghbir.

I loved Praghbir cottage moments.

Both were sad, parting with each other.

I hope they meet again.
