Seat at the table
“If u thought I took drugs and drank copious amounts of wine and stared out the window in longing I did not do any of that” she said turning deep red
“I know you wouldn’t do any of that for me” he said sadly
“As if… as if u would… for me”
“Bet?”
“Oh please I can claim anything flippantly, unlike you I am not am not a liar” she was hot and bothered
He laughed softly, his body shaking in amusement
“So you wish to be missed?
“I don’t” she could not make eye contact
He gently lifted her chin up
She looked at his neck
“Viveka Mathur”
“Fine you win”
“Look at me”
“You have seen me before”
“If you are not bothered by it you should” he whispered
“Chalo yeh lo” she said
Sending him into a giant guffawing laughter
“You could employ third party adjudicators who will watch over me when I am gone on atrip”
“If u know I am appointing someone you are going to be emoting”
“Hard to win with you”
“Mujhe kyon miss karte ho”
“I just worry about the Indian economy” he whispered
Her turn to laugh
“I am dying to argue over some thing or the other” his eyes roved deliciously over her
“You are just saying that…”
He turned toward the open doorway to make sure no one appeared
“I was too drunk to fight with you that night” he growled leaning forward into her ear
“Yeah that’s when you just hang up and don’t even call the person for a week
She pushed him he wouldn’t budge
He turned around again, walked over and shut and bolted the door
“Raa..n” “I don’t don’t to argue right now” “I don’t need your pity sex right now” she warned setting her breakfast bowl on her study desk and whirled around to walk away
He caught her midway, his strong arms gathering her in a fierce hug as she slammed on his hard body
Their stormy eyes held each other for a few seconds
“I don’t know where I stand with you! Sometimes I feel you barely tolerate me. I don’t need to be kissed so you can forgive yourself in your mind”
He bend down his mouth rocked across her lips in rough hunger that was moist and needy
It seared her with a hunger that hurt and ached all at the same time
A headiness reeled through Viveka’s body, central heating her blood with a rush of excitement
Her lips parting under the sawing insistent intensity of his mouth to invite the marauding entry of his tongue to mate with her
He was like vintage wine, delicious and intoxicating
She let him do what he wanted with her for a few minutes
“Vi” he took her hand and rubbed her palm feverishly between his legs
He lifted her chin up to watch her reaction
“I promise I will give you a catastrophic fight on what you want…” “I am tired of being away from you” “A week is like a century”
His words were direct and no nonsense as always
“No its not… mine went by fast” she whispered
She was rewarded with another kiss, this time it was all raw desire, undisguised unrestrained, as he plundered her mouth, teased her tongue and did not let go until she whimpered in submission wrapped weakly in his arms, ready to fall off
“Vi” he groaned in her ear dragging her to bed and laying down and placing her on his chest as they lay breathing heavily
“Leave by Noon?” he demanded
“I am staying until the guests leave” pulled away and rolled off his body curling up like a worm
He turned to her and gently played with her hair, trying to pull her glasses off
“Ufff” she scowled letting him do that
“If she is not going to agree then why have them over?” he demanded logically
“Baat karogey Papa se is baare mein?” she goaded
“Umm.. nope”
“Are you getting backlash for what naina did?” she asked softly with her eyes closed
He held her chin and waited for her to open her eyes
“Kya?” she questioned
“I told you I am not talking about it while you are here”
“If we have a catastrophic fight at home I might be returning here anyway so we might as well start where I am going to end up” she said quietly
“No to both” he sat sitting up
Buttoning his shirt bending down to look at it
“do you need a hair brush?” she asked
He was furiously combing his hair with his fingers
“I want you to go home”
She handed him one from her dresser
“Dad is back?”
“I wouldn’t know” he said coldly
“I can text him” she said quietly
“Of course” he said sarcastically
“I had nothing to do with why he pissed with you so please don’t be condescending” she ordered
“Oh you have everything to do with it”
“To theek hai, I will involve myself in sorting out the issue between you two” she ack gleefully
“Must be nice?”
“Kya?”
“Must be nice to never screw up?” he got up tucking his shirt back in carelessly in his trousers
“Oh I screw up a lottt… umm.. yeah”
“Marrying me you mean?”
“Don’t” she warned “You know what I mean
“say it Viveka Mathur
“…Your family must think I ultimately wanted Naina too to have a seat at the very same table I want to flip and set ablaze”
“You don’t have any answers about why she did it, but want me to tell you what motivated Inder?” he went back to her taunt from last Friday
“No I am not talking about that at all…. All I am saying is I don’t even know why your Dad is mad at you, I only care about the falling out from Naina’s stunt, so please save your accusations”
“Havent you always only been worried about Naina’s some stunt or the other?” he mocked her
“Mujhe taana de rahe ho? Behen hai meri, yes I will care, especially when I know I myself am at a place where I don’t belong… I walked into it willingly….to her credit she only walked into it accidentally while drunk” she whispered suppressed anger and anxiety, her lips quivering, her body shaking
He glared at her and she held his gaze
He hung out in the living room politely for a few minutes
And excused himself upon receiving a call
She finished her breakfast and tidied her room and went back to the kitchen
