Oh my gosh Pritee
Hope you are OK

I recall hundreds of years ago, I lived and worked in Delhi during the Mandal Commission riots. Some caste reservation policy that VP Singh brought about.

I recall for weeks going to work and returning home would be treacherous. My office was at the intersection of two main streets, and so they would frequently burn buses and destroy property.

I worked for a depraved pathetic SOB who cared more about keeping the office open than ensuring employee safety. So we would be at work the front doors were locked shutters were drawn.
If people steal from their employers in India there is a reason. 99% of private employers treat their people like slaves

Thank you Kalpana and Nisha for asking.
The day was Good apart from 4 plus hours of standing in crowded train.
Didn't go to office. Came back from half way.
I have to apply for leave but that's ok. I have Good bosses. But HR in India is to suck up not for benefit of employees.
Can't help certain things have to live with it.
We have people calling strike for every petty reason.
Distrupt railways and bargain.
We don't have any disaster management.
The list goes on. But I hardly have option to not to endure all this.

Nisha, can't compare with your plight at all.
Mandal commission situation might have been Really bad. And eminities and options available today are many. Number of female commuters to make me feel safe.
20-25 years back the situation might have been real tough.
Hats off to all those who started working then and have paved way for us.

After 4 days, I was eager to get back home. Blaaahhh - thanks to the storm, now my flight is cancelled and I have been rerouted to SFO and keeping my fingers crossed about my connecting red eye flight. What a mess!
