Raj was sleeping in the chair near his baby girl. The baby began crying and he immediately got up and held her close to him.
Shalini: Raj please. We have nurses here. You need to sleep. You haven't left her side in the last 72 hours.
Raj: I need to do something right. Keep her ok for Naina.
Shalini: Naina just regained consciousness and your parents also reached. They are in her room
Raj: Shes ok, right?
Shalini: absolutely. Why don't you take the baby to her.

Kunal and Niharika stepped out and Naina put the baby to sleep and then went to sleep.
Raj stepped in quietly and stood by nainas side. He kissed her on the head. The baby was beginning to stir. He placed his hands gently on her to make sure she remains asleep.
And the quietly he stepped out.
Next morning he had all the arrangements ready for them to leave to Delhi.
Raj spoke to Kunal and Niharika.
Raj: Papa everything is set. You can go ahead with the driver. I'll drive everything else in the other car.
Niharika: you are coming?
Kunal: Niharika?!
Niharika: what's the point? Naina doesn't want to see him. And he's failed me again. I asked him to take care of Naina and the baby. And because of him the baby was born premature.
Raj: Ma that was not my intention...
Kunal; Don't defend yourself. You are coming with us.
A week had passed and Raj suddenly heard the baby crying softly from Naina and Abhis room. He kept trying to restrain himself but he couldn't take it any more and went to the room. He walked in quietly and found the baby crying softly and Naina sleeping, dead from exhaustion.
He picked her up and cradled her closely. He then got up and paced around till she fell asleep. He placed her gently next to Naina. He was about to leave when he saw Naina get up.
Naina: Raj.
She got up and asked him to follow her to the balcony.
Raj: she was crying... I promised to stay away...
Naina: But you haven't, have you?
Raj: I...
Naina: you really think I wouldn't realize that whenever mom and dad can't calm her down they take her to you.
She may be my daughter but she responds most to you. Maybe because of the time you spent with her immediately after her birth
Raj: Naina I am sorry... I didn't want to break my promise. But I had to look out for her... so I.
Naina: it's ok and thank you. Some day I'll have the emotional energy to hear your side of the story and understand why you ruined Abhis life and mine. But not today. Still I am thankful. For every thing you have done for my daughter and continue to do.
Next day Naina came to his room.
Naina: we are doing the naming ceremony tomorrow and the pandit insists that you sit with me because I am married to you
I don't want anything wrong in my baby's life.
Can you sit with me in the Pooja?
Raj: of course
Next morning Raj and Naina sat in the naamkaran Pooja.
Pandit: mothers name?
Naina: Naina Rai Chauhan.
Pandit: Fathers name?
Raj: Rajveer Singh Shekhawat.
Naina interrupted...
Naina: No. Abhimanyu Ra Chauhan.
Raj: yes, abhimanyu Rai Chauhan.
Pandit: daughters name?
Naina: Abhimanini Rai Chauhan.
Pandit: but the name should start with Ra according to her horoscope.
Raj: we want the name Abhimanini.
After the Pooja Raj went to Naina.
Raj: that's a very beautiful name. Abhimanini.
Naina: I know it'll get shortened to manini or something like that. But I want her to have some connection with abhi. Given she'll never have him in her life.
She paused for a moment and then added.

Mana has everyone called her was 4 months old now. She was an incredibly happy baby who loved smiling and babbling incoherently to all and sundry. Her favorite person continued to be rajveer.
When she was 2 months old Raj had gone back to kma and she had cried herself sick. He had to use all his contacts to get posted to HQ so that he was closer to his mana.
She'd start cooing the moment he entered the room. As for Raj, mana was the light of his life. He worked long hours during the day, but weekends and nights were reserved for her. Their bond was one of pure love and adoration.
Naina was actually thrilled by their bond. She still hated rajveer but knew that he was a better father to mana than abhi would have ever been. She knew that better then anyone Else.
One evening Raj and mana were taking a walk in the garden, Naina was sitting with Niharika who suddenly tears in her eyes.
Naina: Ma what happened?
Niharika: my abhi would have been such a good father even though I admit Raj really loves mana.
Tell me Naina what was his reaction? You told him when he visited us last didnt you? He must have treated you like a princess. And that impromptu Goa trip on the last day, was that to celebrate your pregnancy?
Naina lied to Niharika because she didn't want to break her heart. As she walked away she thought about what happened on the infamous Goa trip.
The entire week abhi had ignored her only behaving like she was responsible for the pregnancy. Then last minue he decided he wanted a big bash with all their friends
Raj got everything organized and they had a beautiful beach party.
Abhi: Wear this for the party! We'll leave in 15mins.
Naina: Abhi it's a bikini... I have never...
Abhi: my dear you never had the body for it. When we started dating you were quite pudgy. But you are in great shape now.
Naina turned red, but she got ready in the party. She had to admit she looked great. But she hated how abhi had always pressured her to look good enough for him.
At the party abhimanyu was going crazy! He was drunk in the first hour and even tried forcing Naina to drink completely ignoring that she was pregnant. She refused and he dragged her to the dance floor instead. She was exhausted and walked away to rest
Raj followed her.
Raj: are you ok l? You look unwell. Do you want me to get you something?
They sat talking there for half hour and Raj made sure Naina had something to eat and some lime water to drink.
Abhi suddenly remembered Naina. He also realized that he shouldn't have tried forcing her to drink or danced that aggressively with her. In his drunk state he had completely forgotten her pregnancy. He decided to go to her and apologize.
He went looking for her and found her with Raj. Raj was making her laugh and was making her eat. He felt a strong pang of jealousy.
Abhi: Naina I am going to our room. You can come or continue your private party with Raj.
Naina was hurt and followed him to the room.
Naina: you ignore me and then have the audacity to pass snide remarks.
She as shocked by what he did next. He buried her face in her laps and began crying. He was drunk and incoherent but she finally figured what he was trying to say.
Abhi: I have been having a difficult time in this assignment and all I wanted to do was spend a relaxed week with you. But this baby problem ruined everything.
Naina flinched but focused on comforting him.
Abhi: all I wanted to do was make love to you and forget my pain.
Naina: make love to me now and forget your pain.
She nodded and abhi needed no further invitation.
He picked her up and took her the bed and in a few seconds removed the two piece swim simuit. He attacked her breasts which had already become more supple because of her pregnancy. But it hurt Naina no end. Because she was tender and sensitiv. She clenched her fist and prevented tears from falling.
Abhi: wow if this pregnancy will create such magic with your breasts I am all for it.
Then he moved down to her navel and kissed all over her abs.
Abhi: no how can I forget it'll ruin this gorgeous figure.
Abhi kept wreaking havoc all over her body. He was more rough than usual and in no time time her body was covered with love bites and scratches. Even when he penetrated her he was relentless. Plunging to her depths, taking out all his frustration. Exhausted he collapsed on top of her and slept. She was also dead tired and fell asleep.
She got up a grow hours later, sore and in pain. She went to he bathroom and cleaned up. She dressed up and was about to step out when she experienced painful cramps and realized she was spotting. She was worried sick. Had Abhis rough behavior put her pregnancy at risk.
She rushed outside and tried waking up abhi but with no luck.
She immediately went to rajs room and he took her to the nearby hospiral no questions asked.
The doctor imagined her and called Raj inside. He mistook Raj for nainas husband and lectured him on his recklessness.
Naina corrected her and the doctor apologizes before leaving.
Raj turned to Naina. He had guessed she was pregnant and she nodded.
His face changed from surprise to a lovely happiness and tenderness. He hugged her.
She so wished at that moment that Abhis reaction Had been similar.
Next morning
Naina: Raj I am not able to get abhi ready. He's completely hungover.
Raj: you go have breakfast. I'll take care of him.
Half hour later abhi came down sullen faced and hungover.
Naina: abhi we need to talk about the pregnancy before you leave.
Abhi: can you stop your rant?
Naina: rant?'
Abhis phone rang.
Abhi; I need to leave immediately. Raj will fly back o Delhi with you.
She helped him back. Before he left he said.
Abhi: I'll call you when I have more time to talk about this problem. But let's think about this practically not emotionally and keep all our options open.
He had left leaving her heartbroken.
She came back into the present and started at Raj and mana. Raj had come back from an exhausting day at work. Mana had raised his hands towards him and even without changing out of his uniformhe was playing with her; feeding her and had finally put her to sleep.
Raj was a natural father and abhi would have been a very bad one.
Parenting could never have been easy for a selfish man like abhimanyu Raj Chauhan.
Naina knocked on rajs door. She had mana in her hands and looked very worried
Naina: manas having fever. She has 103 degrees temperature. She was slightly warm when I put her sleep but her body is burning now.
Raj: let's go to the hospital right now.
After they reached the hospital Raj held mana in his arms as the doctor examined her. He couldn't bear to see her in pain as they had to use a needle to draw blood.
Finally the doctor came back.
Doctor: she has an infection. Will recover with antibiotics but she also needs a blood transfusion.
Raj: take as much of my blood as you need. But make her ok.
Naina: Raj she doesn't have the same blood group as you! Or me. It's the same as Abhis
Rajs face fell. He looked heartbroken. He held mana the hold time during the transfusion. Till they got home.
But after that he avoided her completely. Didn't come near her for a week.
Naina: papa where is raj? Mana keeps crying for him. And the man who couldn't stay away from her for a minute hasn't met her once.
Kunal: Beta the whole blood transfusion episode shook him. He felt very helpless because he couldn't help her because he isn't her biological father.
Naina: but papa.
Kunal: he loves mana to death and realizing he can't give her everything really broke him.
Raj came home late. He had started leaving early and coming back late because he was avoiding mana.
Naina came to his room with mana.
Naina: I am leaving mana here. I am not feeling g well. So she'll sleep here with you.
Raj: but Naina...
Naina: why isn't she your daughter?
Raj: I am not good enough to be her father.
Just then mana woke up and began crying. The moment she saw Raj she leaned closer to him.
He picked her up. She stopped crying immediately and smiled broadly. She nuzzled closer to him and went back to sleep.
Naina: you were saying? She loves you Raj. More than me and I am her biological mother... who carried her... gave birth to her.
Raj/ but I am not...
Naina: you are an amazing father and she's so lucky to have you.
Now can you lay her down and come with me. I want to talk to you.
Naina: what happened with abhi? Why did you arrest him?
Raj: Naina... Abhi was a true patriot but he couldn't follow due procedure. He wa sin charge of nuclear trigger. There had been a security breach in the past which he didn't report and the second time the triggers were found in his bag. I was forced to arrest him.
In my report I made it clear that I didn't believe abhi was stealing the triggers but I did say that not reporting the previous breach was a mistake. I was doing my best to build a strong defense for him. But he ran away from the jail and was killed before I could do anything.
Raj held his face in his hands and began crying.
Naina hugged him tightly.
Raj: I am responsible for my brothers death. For you losing abhi. For mana losing her father.
Naina couldn't see him like this.
She lifted his face and brought hers close to it. She gently began kissing the tears away and finally placed her lips on his. She kissed
Him deeply.
He moved away. But she went after him. She hugged him from behind and said softly.
Naina: Raj forgive me! For everything I have said and done! You didn't deserve it.
Raj turned around and saw a different emotion in her eyes. Was it love?
No it couldn't be. Naina was Abhis Naina.
He kept moving away and went to his bedroom but Naina came after him.
Naina: you haven't forgiven me, have you?
Raj; of course I have...
Naina: then prove it.
Raj: what do you mean?
Naina slowly removed the Pallu of her sari revealing her ample bosom and beautiful mid riff. She held rajs hands and walked with him to his bed. She lay down on the bed and said.
