A little bit of ego, a little bit of resentment in the way he perceives Avantika and a little bit of conphused state of what he feels for her and a little bit of tempament where he gets offended a little too quickly .

He has come to her room twice. First she placed a support for the little kid. Giving away little he walked away. The second time on his school, he said too bad, don't sing Delhi again and walked away.
Is he saying this Bareilly man won't be brainwashed kind off. ?

I think it's a little bit of everything.

One does get a feeling that with all the din about a Delhi girl having to come to Bareilly , he is getting a little over defensive about Bareilly .

At home, we ate whenever and whatever each of us liked to. We were pampered that way. We all ate at our own schedule

The day I was married, it was 6am coffee, 8am breakfast, 12.30 lunch, 4pm coffee and 7.30pm dinner at my in laws.

The idea of running around kitchen looking at the clock made me sick. I was scared if I could fit in because I was never brought up like that. It was always too early. I was used to sippping coffee at 8am and breakfast at 10/10.30. 8am breakfast was choking me.

Even though this is trivial. All these mattered. I can perfectly understand Teeku.

Amazing Nisha that you are able to weave these little details casually into the story. These little things that you write is what connects your readers to the story.

Words like Thank you, Nandri doesn't do justice to how I feel about your writing ! 👏

It does run a line right through though in my case it was both the timing and the food. Hubs side did not have bfast . It was fruits, cucumber, coffee and porridge and then it was lunch at 10:30 or lunch packed to work. But I was a bfast girl. After a few weeks thankfully I got to my bfast routine aided by Periamma falling ill and having to take bfast because of meds. So I cooked bfast for her and me and I never looked bk 😆

To make this adjustment where she gets accustomed to that home's stated and unstated rules and practices is a fish out of water time for her. Poor thing is not feeling home yet to say she is hungry.

Contrast the much married ladies from both families have passed these stages and seem to be well adjusted in their respective households with its own set of factors that determine it to be called a home.

Bas chandan is turning uff chandan for the family.

I have had this conversation about getting married early vs getting married once you become independent. I have observed that many independent Women find it difficult to adjust back into family life, leave alone a large joint family like Vaidyas or Guptas. I have seen those marriages cause heartbreaks. Sorry if I am generalizing here, younger women right out of college or a couple of years at work, who haven't formed strong viewpoints tend to adjust a little better.

Teeku here brought up in a joint family, is missing being the center of attention, misses her independence and is handed over orders from Harit for key decisions. She is a loving girl with a big heart! I'm hoping she will be able to adjust to everything !

Hello maam, He came to check on her when she squealed about the cold water. Please don't villainize him. I'm falling for him and will find every possible excuse to defend every action of his 😆

He still has the idea that she is a strong headed woman who took the boy away who rightfully belongs to Vaidyas. He will need to see and realize the love she has for the kid to back off. He is being a tight*$$ only when it comes to Chandan topic. Otherwise he seems cool, including the dupatta topic 😃

So I wasnt too far off when I talked about simple things like when to eat and what to eat?
I stayed in India less than 5 days I moved here, and here I pretty much ate all day.🤢
The 5 days I was back home after wedding with the in laws I ate lunch at 10:15 and coffee at 2 in the afternoon and dosa or idli or some palaharam as Iyers call it at dinner at 7

BUT I pigged out on the wedding sweets and snacks. My in laws were too adorable, they were much much older than my parents so I was like a grand daughter so got off easy😆

My MIL took me to the best samosa store, best chaat papri store in that part of Delhi that week 😳

This can be a MASSIVE pain for some, those that live in that set up permanently, especially where in-laws are too strict

That's very nice. So sweet.

I was brought up in Chennai and my mom was working. So we had Saturday night tradition to go out for dinner to give her a break. At in laws in Madurai, going out was a taboo. Especially to control myself from eating at all the lovely places. We were at in laws for 10 days. My husband and I would sneak out and grab a bite here and there 😆

My love for food cannot be contained to home cooked food 😳
