Part 2

Khushi was lost in the thoughts of someone whom she had began to love even more than herself but the destiny had brought her face to face with the reality that her love didn't trust her and hence doesn't deserve her.

Khushi was already sad that her dear sister, with whom she shared everything, starting from their room to the darkest secrets of hers will no longer be with her. But she was also happy that she got the love of her life. The anger in her was eating her away. The person whom she trusted more than herself, had not trusted her on an issue which had destroyed her from inside with every passing moment.

As Khushi was lost in the world of raging emotions, fighting for dominance over each other, a hand held her shoulder affectionately making peace of her mind restore. After all a mother's touch was meant to be the most soothing one.

" Already missing your Jiji, isn't it Khushi?" Garima asked Khushi as she held Khushi's cheek with her one hand as Khushi turned to face her.

" As if you are not, Amma." Khushi spoke through the burning hot and heavy tears which were rapidly filling up in her eyes, while Garima took Khushi in an affectionate embrace to mellow her down.

" Khushi, if you feel bad and don't sleep today night, how will I be able to face your Jiji who will be coming tomorrow for her Pag Phere ritual? Won't your Jiji think that her family doesn't take care of her younger sister? And you want her to feel bad?" Garima knew the tactics using which Khushi could be mellowed down in the fraction of a second and as usual she was right. Khushi's tears stopped flowing from her doe-shaped eyes as she pulled out from the warm embrace of her mother.

" I will not cry, Amma. It is just that something went into my eyes and I was already so happy for my Jiji that tears of happiness began to flow." Khushi was an unbeatable expert at convincing people and hiding her own sorrow behind her craziness. Garima smiled weakly as she hit Khushi's head with the back of her hand lovingly.

" Shall I say one thing before I leave Khushi?" Garima took her permission knowing the mental state of Khushi at the moment.

" What one thing, Amma? Say a hundred things. I am all ears." Khushi again tried to forget her pain caused by the person whose image was painted on the canvas of her heart and the person who tore the same canvas into pieces. But unfortunately destiny had something else in hold for Khushi.

" Khushi Bitiya, I think you should accept the marriage proposal by Anjali Bitiya. I mean that creep of a person, Shyam is always looking for a chance to be with you and make you his. In that case, if you are married to someone else, then maybe he will forget you. And also, you always wanted to get married into the same house as Payal's right? Now your that dream will also come out to be true. Khushi Bitiya, in no possible way can we find a groom better than Arnav Bitua for you. Please say 'yes' for this marriage." asked Garima, as she held Khushi's cold and shivering palms in between hers, as Khushi turned white with shock that even her mother wanted her to marry Arnav Singh Raizada.

" There is no force at all from my side, Titaliya. But this is for your own good. And being very honest with you, I am scared about Shyam and his evil intentions, that's all. Take your own time and think wisely with a broad mind. This is the best for all of us. " Garima explained as she left Khushi after patting her shoulder affectionately, while Khushi stood there numb and dumb.

One side of her told that Arnav would throw her out of his house and life after 6 months of marriage and Khushi was not even able to think about her life after that. She was not scared of the society but what answers will she give to her own parents? She cannot obviously say that she knew that the shelf-life of this marriage was just 6 months after which it was bound to expire, as she knew her parents' scandalizing reactions to it.

Another side of her thought that the parents who gave her another life by adopting her, the parents who never distinguished between her and Payal, were asking something from her for the first time and she was going to reject it, straight away?

As Khushi paced around the room nervously, another side of her sprang up with a new point as she thought of Arnav. Somewhere she felt that there was sincerity in his voice when he said that he was ready to marry her with her own consent and there were some unknown feelings pooling in his eyes. But the hatred which soon engulfed her, forced her to abandon this thought about Arnav, her love in the past, the person whom she now hates the most now, and probably her husband in the future.

Arnav was seriously worried for Khushi, as he knew that by accepting the proposal placed by his Di, infront of Khushi and her parents, would have surely made Khushi's parents exert pressure on Khushi to accept it.

Arnav Singh Raizada, who never regretted any deed in his life was completely submerged in the ocean of redemption, remorse and guilt.

Guilt, for not trusting the person whom he claimed to love.

Remorse, for not thinking before he acted and asked Khushi to enter into a contract marriage of six months with him.

Redemption, for not valuing the feelings of a girl who placed the feelings of others way above her own.

But he knew what he had to do to ease out this process for Khushi. He wanted to be punished for his deeds, not punish someone as pure and as innocent as Khushi for an action undertaken by him in the spur of a moment.

He dug his phone out of his pocket and dialed the number of Khushi, in the hope that she will answer the call and he will be able to speak to her to express his apologies for her.

And much to his pleasant surprise, Khushi answered the call against his thoughts which concluded that she would not answer the call. This action of hers, again made him feel guilty thinking about how good she is at her heart.

" Ji, Namaskar." Khushi's voice came from the other end of the phone, which brought Arnav back to his senses and sensing the confusion in her tone, it was not difficult for Arnav to realize that Khushi had not realized that it was Arnav who had called her.

" Khushi..." Arnav let out a shaky whisper as he heard a gasp escape her mouth as his voice reverberated in her ear drums.

" Aap? What do you want now?" Khushi was back with into her feisty self as her voice suggested but Arnav had not the missed the melancholy strain in her voice, which literally chocked her voice.

" Tumhari Maafi Ya Phir Saaza. What will I get?" Arnav expressed with sincerity dripping from his voice, while silence echoed in the rooms of Arnav and Khushi. Not even a single word was exchanged but where words fail, isn't it the silence which prevails and expresses? Khushi's irregular breathing showed Arnav that she was lost in thoughts which were stressful.

While he wanted to remove the stress, Khushi wanted him out of her life. In this war of love and hate, which feeling will prevail and what will be the result?
