The sun rose over the horizon, and shone over the mountains that stood at the heart of Kanchanjunga Military Academy. As beautiful as the day was outside KMA, it was just as hectic inside the institution because today was the Fresher's ball. This was the day all the cadets were looking forward to. This was there last chance to enjoy themselves before their 'real' training starts.
*****Boy's hostel
Vijay was turning the room upside down looking for something, while Shaad followed him asking him what he needed, but our Abhi was sound asleep.
Shaad: "Vijay, aapne pura kaamra ki haalat bigar di hai. Hum mein batiya kya dhon rahai hai." (Vijay, you have turned the entire room upside down. Tell me what you are searing for)
Vijay: "Meri toothpaste, meri after shave kuch nahi mil raha, aur agar mein aisa hie Ridhi ki saamne chala gaya to who mujhe maar degi" (I can't find my toothpaste, after shave or anything else, and if I go like this in front of Ridhi, than she will kill me)
Abhi: "Yaar teri aapne girlfriend se itni kyu farti hai. Ridhi hai bhi bohot sweet" (Dude, why are you so scared of your girlfriend. Ridhi is very sweet)
Vijay: "Sweet hogi woh tera saath, magar ghussa mein who jungali billi ban jhati hai" (She must be sweet with you, but she becomes a wild cat when she gets angry)
Shaad: "Vijay bhai, yeah galat baat hai. App Ridhi ko jungali bili nahi bulana chai hi ya aur who aap se kitne mohabbat karti hai" (Brother Vijay, this is wrong, you should not call Ridhi a wild cat, and she loves you so much)
Ridhi: "Aara nahi Shaad, issa bolne de. Aaj pata to chala ki yeah mera bara mein kya soachtha hai""No, no Shaad, let him talk. Let me find out what he thinks about me)
Ridhi walked in the room.
Vijay: "Ridhi, tum kab---kab se waha khadi thi" (Ridhi, how"how long have you been standing there)
Ridhi: "Itni deer se toh khadi hi thi, ki mein tumari muh se aapne sach sun saku" (I was there for long enough to hear the truth about me)
Vijay: "Ridhi, aaisa koi baat nahi hai, mein to bas majak kaar raha tha. Kyu Shaad?" (Ridhi, it is nothing like that. I was just joking, right Shaad?)
Vijay looked at his friend for support, but Shaad just shrugged.
Shaad: "Hum mein iss sab kay beech nahi parna" (I don't want to be involved in all this)
With that Shaad left the room and Vijay turned toward Ridhi.
Ridhi: "Vijay, ek kaam karo, tum fresher's ball kay liya koi aur partner dhoon lo. Kya pata tum jaisa dude o mujhe jaise jungali billi ka saath Janay mein koi problem ho." (Vijay, do one thing, search someone to go the fresher's ball with, because you never know if a dude like you would have any problem going with a wild cat like me.)
With that Ridhi stormed out of the room.
****girl's hostel
Ridhi stromed in the room, wiping her tears. Seeing her in such condition Prerna and Asha got worried.
Prerna: "Ridhi sab theek hai na?" (Ridhi, is everything ok?)
Ridhi: "Woh samajtha kya hai aapne aap ko?" (What does he think about himself?)
Asha: "Tu kiskay bara mein baat kar rahi hai, aur hua kya hai?" (Who are you talking about, and what happened?)
Ridhi told them what she heard and the usual calm and controlled Prerna became furious with anger.
Prerna: "Uski itti himmat. Tum ne bilkul shai kiya, uska saath fresher's ball pe na jana ka faisala kar kar." (How dare he. You did the right thing by deciding not to go with him)
Asha: "I am sorry, but I don't think you did the right thing"
Prerna: "Kya matlab?" (What do you mean?)
Asha: "Mera matlab, tum aur mein sab janta hai ki Ridhi ko unta maja nahi aaiaga agar woh Vijay ka saath nahi hai to" (I mean, we all know that you won't have as much fun if you are not with Vijay)
Prerna: "Kya matlab hai tumara, uss Vijay ne mujhe hurt kiya hai aur mein us kay saath..." (What do you mean, that Vijay hurted me, and you you...)
Asha: "Ussne tum mein hurt kiya toh tum bhi ussay hurt karogi, iss se kisko faida hoga. Ridhi, yeah ladke jo hota hai na woh aisay hai stupid hota hai" (He hurt you so you will hurt him, who will benefit from this? Ridhi, these boys are naturally stupid)
Ridhi: "Being stupid is not enough reason to talk about someone behind their back."
Asha: "Mein janti hoo, aur mein yeah bhi jhanti hoo ki who tujh se bohot pyaar karta hai. Mein yeah nahi keah rahi ki tu ussay itni jaldi maaf kar day, baki teri marzi." (I know, and I also know that he loves you a lot. I am not telling you to forgive him this easily, the rest is your choice.)
Asha left the room and the girls looked at her, surprised.

The girls were starting to get ready when they heard a known on their door.
Prerna: "Mein dekh thi hoon" (I will see)
Prerna opened the door to see Shalini and Priyanka at the door with their clothes in their hand.
Prerna: "Maa, Priyanka ma'am aap dono yaha?" (Maa, Priyanka ma'am wat are you doing here?)
Shalini: "Kyu koi problem hai, Beta" (Why, is there a problem?)
Prerna: "Aare nahi maa, aisay koi baat nahi hai. Aandar aaiea (No, maa, nothing like that. Come in"
Prerna opened the door wider and the two stepped in.
Asha: "Di, aap, yaha" (Di, you here)
Priyanka: "Haan, hum aakeley ready hina nahi chaatey thay so..." (Yes, We didn't want to get read alone so...)
Ridhi: "ok then, we will all fet ready together."
Pretty soon all the girls cracked out their makeup, clothes, shoes, accessories and just about everything one could think about.
Asha: "Waisa yeah idea kiska tha, ki girls kay liya dress code white hogi" (Whose idea was it to make the dress code for girls white?)
Ridhi: "pata nahi, but I like it. Kyun tujhe pasand nai hai, white" (Don't know, but I like it. Why, don't you like it?)
Asha: "No, I don't hate it, magar mein tum saab se saart laga Shakti hoon ki aaj raat khatam hona se pehley in kapara par khana ya kuch na kuch lag hi jaaiaga." (No, I don't hate it, but I can bet you I will spill something on it by the time the night is over)
Priyanka: "Jaha tak mein tujhe jaante hoon, yeah jaroor hoga. Yaad hai, teri 14th birthday par, mein ne aapne pehley job ke salary se ek dress aur ek chota sa cake karida tha..." (As far as I know you, that will definitely happen. Remember your 14th birthday when I bought you a dress and a small cake from the salary of my very first job...)
Asha: "Aur mein ne kissi tara woh cake saare ki saare aapna dress pay laga liya tha. Kitni gussa hui thi aap us wakt." (And I somehow managed to get all the cake on my dress. You were so angry with me)
Priyanka: "gussa nahi hota toh kya karti, kitni meehnat kar Kay tujhe woh dress kharida tha aur tu ne ek hi pal mein saari meehnat mein pani fer di" (What else would I have done, I had worked so hard to buy you that dress, and you ruined it in a second.)
Ridhi: "yeah sisterly love bad mein express karan, ball start hona mein kuch hi minute ha" (show your sisterly love sometime else, there is only a couple of minute before the ball starts)
Shalini: "oh haan, mera date mera wait kar raha hoga" (oh yes, my date must be waiting.)
Prerna: maa aap jaa kiskay saath rahi ho" (maa, who are you going with)
Shalini grabbed her purse from the couch and said: "yeah to tum hai ball mein hi pata q" (you will find out at the ball)
Priyanka: "waisa, Lt. Raghuvendra mujhe mess mein layne aaiagay, toh mein bhi chiali" (anyways, Lt. Raghuvendra isn't meeting me at the mess, so I will also leave)
Ridhi, prerna, and Asha went back to getting ready.
After a couple of minute there was a knock on the door. Ridhi opened it to find Vijay waiting outside, looking absolutely handsome in a black suit. He gave ridhi a flirty smile, but ridhi gave him a ice cold look. She turned back, grabbed her clutch and walked out without wating for Vijay.
Prerna and Asha gave each other a hopeless look as they watched the two walk out, with Ridhi leading and Vijay following.
Next to come was Abhijeet. He complimented Prerna on her look and escorted her down the hall. Asha was getting anxious because basically everyone had left and the halls were almost empty, but there was no sign of Shaad.
Asha thought: " Mein ne Huda uncle, Abhimanyu chacha aur baki sab ko to baba diya ki mein Shaad Kay saath fresher's ball pe jaa rahi ho, magar kahi Shaad ne Issay srif ek excuse to nahi samjha"(I told huda and and Abhimanyu uncle Anne everyone else that I was going with Shaad, but what I f Shaad actually took this as just an excuse)
After waiting for a while and seeing no sign of Shaad, she decided to go out and check for herself. She opened the door and walked outside, only to collide with a strong body. She looked up to see a very dashing looking Shaad standing outside with a single pink rose in hand.
Asha: "Shaad, you are late"
But Shaad was too busy looking at and admiring Asha to reply. To him she was truly looking like a goddess in a simple while sleeveless dress, and adorned with just a single bracelet matched with a simple pair of earrings.
Not getting an answer from Shaad, Asha snapped her fingers in front of Shaad's face. Coming out of his daydream and handed her the rose.
Shaad: "Asha aap bohot khubsurat lag rahi ho" (Asha, you are looking very beautiful.)
Asha: "thank you, and you don't look bad yourself. Shall we go, we are already very late."
Hesitating Shaad put forth his hand and Asha grabbed it. Smiling and hand in hand Asha walked down the hall,but she did not know what the night waited with. She didn't know that this night would wipe off her smile.
Sorry for the long wait.
I have to look after my health, but am feeling much better thanks to all your good wishes
