Thanks for posing such thought provoking questions. I'm sure that these were meant to be rhetorical but I can't resist adding my two cents here :)

While there is no doubt that cultural norms dictate societal expectations of how men and women should act under given circumstances or actually just act in general ; these (cultural norms) are heterogenous entities that vary both within and across geographical, ethnic and religious subsets.

IMHO, cultural norms, the extent they influence individual behavior( socialization) and the extent a person allows himself or herself to be influenced are dependent upon several variables like education, peers, genes, home environment, exposure to mass media to state a few.

In this case, I don't think gender roles embedded in her cognitive framework played any part in bringing about that easy forgiveness.

Had Khushi not had a deep understanding of Arnav's complexities, his turmoil and his conflicts, had Arnav sought out Madison for a straight forward pursuit of pleasure, I doubt Khushi would have been just as forgiving :)

Madilyn! 🤗This is it. The closest representation of the state Arnav's heart was in during that dark phase. Of course, while Kahlil Gibran expressed it beautifully with just a handful of words, I had to struggle to achieve the same with a whole barrage of them! Thank you so much for posting it here ❤️
