I've been meaning to comment for the longest time now, since the first Notes From the Past actually, but Laziness Devta forced me to procrastinate. 😆
I LOVE this story. Your writing is exceptional, the narrative is engaging, the plot is amazingly layered and intriguing and the characters are...uff, so so good. I literally rub my hands in glee every time you update. 😆
I needed to make this list just for the sake of my own sanity, so here goes!
1. Arnav & Khushi--TBH, they seem to be the least complicated characters in the story so far. Which is saying a lot, because they're not simple to understand at all. 😆 But, I do love them both! They've both come such a long way from where they were in Chapter 1. For instance, Arnav's transformation from the class conscious and act-before-you-think teenager to this person who is sensitive, understanding and so so so considerate towards the people he cares about, is simply amazing. And Khushi just makes me want to cry sometimes. She is so so strong, and so brave and it is humbling to read about a person who's had to go through so much in life, and yet doesn't let that mar her spirit and zest to be successful in whatever she's doing. The way she picks herself up after every punch that life throws at her is...inspiring. I think what makes them easier to understand is the fact that they're both fundamentally "good". YKWIM? 2. Payal--Oh I love Payal. She is just so unapologetically class conscious and rude and selfish and everything that should make me dislike her, but the fact that she doesn't try to pretend to be something she's not, makes me like her a lot. Especially after that conversation between her and Poonam Raizada when she decides that she can't throw Khushi under the bus. She thinks Khushi=trouble, and it would have been so easy to blame Khushi for everything that's wrong in her life, but she didn't do that. That makes me like her a lot. Also, I am really really confused about something. I remember in one of the earlier chapters, she told her dad that she had her own battles to fight; Akash's relationship with her is some sort of Soul Sister-ish connection; she looked "smug" when Akash said he had a crush on her; when Arnav asked her if Aman had been her crush in school, she first said no, then fine, then yes; Akash told Khushi that he should tell Arnav about Payal, and to that Khushi only nodded. All of this somehow doesn't seem to add up to Akash and Payal being in love with each other. My best guess would be that Aakash is in love with Payal, but Payal is not in love with him, and Aakash probably knows who she is in love with.
Phew! I could be completely off, of course, but Payal gives my brain a nice long workout (think crunches) every single time and so I had to put down all the dots, so I can see how you connect them at the end 😆
3. Anjali--Anjali is an unknown entity. She's always maintained that ArnavKhushiHamesha would be a recipe for disaster, but I also remember that in one of the earlier chapters she'd said Khushi and sister-in-law in the same sentence. I don't remember what it exactly was, but I don't think she's completely opposed to the idea of their Hamesha. She might just be afraid of their shared past raising its ugly dark head and the two of them getting hurt. I think she's planning a Khushi-Poonam confrontation just to see what happens and whether Arnav stands up for Khushi.
Also, Thumpa is adorable!
4. Shyam--Where did he come from?! I remember Khushi wanted to tell her dad where she thought Shyam was in one chapter. At that point, Mihir Gupta's visits to Shady Shekhawat in Chandni Chowk coincided pretty neatly with Shyam's possible entry; and now Mihir Gupta disappears and Shyam appears! Also how does Shyam have such unexpectedly serious views on politics? Is that just the result of growing up or does it have anything to do with his possible association with Shady Shekhawat? I know Khushi's instinctively started trusting Shyam, but his sudden appearance seems really shady.
5. Anand Raizada--He is as much of an unknown entity as Anjali, to me at least. He is supposedly very smart, but when Poonam fired Khushi back when she was working at AR,he didn't even seem to know that Poonam was responsible for it. The fact that he suddenly decided to take an active part now, after Mihir Gupta absconded...could that just have been the waking up call he needed to come back or is there more to it? I might be overreading the situation of course, but the fact that he almost never opposes what Poonam does, be it when she forced Arnav and Akash into the business, or when she withdrew Khushi's scholarship, when he is supposed to be the guy that started this huge business empire from scratch, makes me very suspicious of his motives.
6. Poonam Raizada--Well, so everything she does, or has done till now, stems from her deep insecurity. I think that is all I can say about her. Baaki sab kuch about her is a mystery only Sherlock Holmes can solve. I would run screaming in the opposite direction if I were to ever meet a woman like her. She's terrifying. 😆
I have so much more to say, but I think I'll save that and all my horrible guesses for the next update. :)
P.S. Please tell me Arnav and Khushi get their Happily Ever After at the end, nahi toh my tikki-loving heart will be devastated. 😆
