I am in love with this Maya. Is it normal? 😆
The woman is incredible.
Her zest for life and the love she had in her for all those who are close to her is incredible.
Love how she arranged things so that Khushi and Arnav can spend a little time together.
Now we have our insomniac Khushi up and waiting for her Prince Charming.
You'll make us wait a WHOLE WEEK for the next update?
Thats cruel, MB.

You are weaving such a beautiful story. Love, love your writing. Makes us crave for more, wishing the chapter never ended.
You rightly portrayed the internal struggle that Kushi is going through as a widow. Glad Lav is talking to her about the second chances she is bring presented.

Maya is a sweet heart. Not sure if there really exists such a sweet ex-wife pushing the man to go find his happiness.

Mira, my comments on page 104.

And regarding your suggestion on reading Manasa's comments, MB, I am the one person who diligently like her disciple reads every one of her comments in all the stories we follow together and I never get tired of telling her how amazing her comments are. 👏

I want to dedicate the below song for Khushi:

In Dino Dil Mera
Mujhse Hai Keh Raha
Tu Khwaaab Saja
Tuu Jele Zara

Hai Tujhe Bhi Izaazat
Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat

Mirabell,

Some hits and misses for this chapter, just my two bits don't even take them seriously now...just one of the many voices in the universe when it comes to Second Chances.

Let's start with the misses...sorry, quite a sadist here aren't I? However when the story is this one, I want it to be perfect...so for me...
1. Not having ASR and Mohan at the door waiting to join the others for the trip...the story immediately plummeted...the exhilaration faded...and with Khushi and Meera I was down in the dumps through the trip to Mathura.

2. No Arnav and Khushi moments...sorry, sorry, sorry for sounding like the ultimate fangirl (that I am!) - this could be a serious downer...with a slight advantage because by the end of the update, together with Khushi we are all waiting for Arnav to show up with Mohan in tow. I missed Arnav and Khushi...although this story is about so much more than them...I hear you. Yes we did have the one memory of them falling off the bike...delectable...but I did so hope you would sustain the seamless flashbacks of the previous chapter.

Now for the hits...

1. The relationships and characterization just keep gobsmacking me...whether the one Lavanya and Khushi share, or Maya and Arnav or Maya and Kailash, or Nani and Manorama...all simple, magnificent and lifelike personas, highly relatable and highly human. Thank you for the characters...they are fast consuming an important place in my Asli Duniya!

2. The plot...wow, super awesome...while the pace might not seem like it is clipping along, it moves forward because of the characters and their inner thoughts...so yeah...definite progression at different levels, some awakening with every update.

3. Khushi's thoughts are an in-depth illustration of how tenuous human relationships are...her own anxiety in moving forward with Arnav will be the biggest stumbling block that has to be overcome...and I have no doubt Dr Raizada will effortlessly ride rough-shod over her efforts to keep him at bay...but the subtle hints we get from the narrative are a class touch. Take a bow.

I am going back to read it again...somehow, girl, one read of these chapters is rarely enough to get the whole thing in entirety...waiting for the 29th of April. Now do surprise us by moving that timeline forward??!

Best,

These two chapters, this one and the previous one were absolutely wonderful... They showed how both Arnav and Khushi were in two minds as to what to do... Arnav wanted Khushi to be like her old self... Bold and daring to take initiative and not the one filled with uncertainties... Khushi though she has openly showed that she is closed, is yet filled with a yearning that Arnav sees through her rebuff time and again and prevails over her... Her insecurity that has given rise to her stance has been perceived by Lavanya, her friend who has secretly hoped that Khushi would move on from the previous phase of life... Both Maya and Lavanya have perceived what Arnav and Khushi meant for one another and are hell bent on giving the two hesitant friends of theirs a much needed push... I wonder whether Arnav has overheard Khushi 's conversation with Lavanya...
Loved the way Maya cleared the path for Arnav to be with Khushi... She seems to be a gem of a person who wants the same happiness for Arnav as she has with Kailash... Not many would do it... After the breakup ex-spouses can be friends but to push the other towards a relationship that would bring in happiness is commendable... Both Arnav and Maya are genuine in their feelings in this respect... Arnav's encouragement to Maya to try out whether her feelings towards Kailash would last had set this healthy trend...
Love this mature take of a sticky situation that had set a precedent...

Mira... Love the Meera in your story too... She is one heck of a child with a mature outlook who is extremely well behaved and attuned to others too...
My only point of dissension is with Khushi's thoughts on thinking herself as a widow and distancing herself from her happiness...
Does she remember only of a moth who is attracted to fire and end up getting burnt? Does she not remember how a spider works? Tirelessly keeps on trying until it succeeds... Why is she thinking that her life has come to a standstill with the death of NK? Will she be betraying NK if she finds her happiness with Arnav? Does she not realise that Meera too needs her ASR for her emotional security? Won't she be giving Meera too happiness with her decision? Will that not give NK some satisfaction if he can perceive after death?

Looking forward to the next part...

I think I'm happy Arnav wasn't behind that door that morning. Kyonki, "Pata toh chala mujhe kitna miss kiya jaata hai".

Fear of abandonment is a very real and traumatic issue inflicting many. Khushi may want to view the glass as being half full, like Meera, but it seems her fear is of the glass itself being taken away. A young Khushi not able, or willing, to believe that a vacationing Arnav will come back. An older Khushi still not able, or willing, to tell Arnav she wants him there. But this Arnav can read the old Khushi better now. It's there in the words he speaks of her to Maya, in the way he understands her underlying sadness of then. His determination to woo her now will force her to confront those locked away memories. Memories which you're unveiling for us with such adroitness, leaving us all mirroring Lavanya's reaction at each point!

Mirabell your sublime use of language elevates every moment, every thought, every emotion to something poetic. You make us live each moment in your story. It's my heart that skips a beat when the cell phone beeped with a message. I feel myself leaning against the window of the car gazing out at life passing by. I wish that Khushi would grasp that life that's calling out to her. That "sexy dish" who would subsume all her senses tenderly.

Lavanya is really good friend ...and she wants khushi to move on in her life so should ask her this ..that if the rolls were reversed and if khushi was the one to past on instead of Naren ... and he was alive ... would khushi want him to pin and mourn his whole life for her or would she genuinely want him to be happy again and enjoy life not just live it like she is doing it and move on in his life when she was gone...

of course you don't need man in your life to be happy... but just like it takes man and woman to make a child it takes both man and woman to raise a good child ... ofcourse in majority of the cases whether its working woman or housewife woman play a big roll in raising a child but emotionally a child needs a father FIGURE in life growing up... if nk was alive instead of her then ofcourse she would wish for her child to have a mother figure in her life where she can go to with all her difficult riddles of life ... she can be an excellent single mother but there would be a point in life where she would say WHAT IF...
our loved ones can be there for us in life but they don't fill in that void space in our heart ... she thinks she don't have a right to move on cuz she is a widow and she would be betraying nk if she choose to give space to arnav but our heart can be as small as our fist but it has a space in it as vast as a ocean ...

when she was in conversation with La and she had heard the distance noise of a car I seriously thought it was arnav and mohan coming and after arnav heard from the door what she was saying about him...
I loved how she explain to meera about mohan's asd..
very very good update
