Suddenly, the lights were out. A huge thud followed with the rain bristling heavily on the wooden shed. I subconsciously clenched Arnav's arm. I hate darkness. How much worse can this day get? With everything so silent around us, I began feeling claustrophobic and anxiety kicked in. I breathed heavily and tears started rolling down my cheeks. Arnav tightened his grip on my shoulder and told me to calm down. We walked together to the nearby cupboard where the candles were. He shuffled things around and finally the whisk of the matches slowly released the uncomfortable feeling I was experiencing.
There was light and the atmosphere didnt feel heavy anymore. I looked around me to see exactly where I was without realising that Arnav stood just centimeters apart from. I faced forward and I was confronted with deep hazel eyes staring right into me. I dont know what I felt. Shivers ran down my spine and I felt sweat dribbling down my neck. He continued staring with the same intensity while I was confused with my feelings. Why am I trusting a stranger who I just met this morning? How can I be sure that he is actually going to protect me?
