Another fabulous update Jenny, brilliant
am not having a good feeling about this Lavenya
applying a job at Arnav's office she wants to be near him to
able to rekindle their relationship. This is going to be hard on
both Arnav and Khushi especially Khushi as people will say
we told you so. I hope Arnav lavanya talk happens soon so she
doesn't get ideas and keeping hope of getting back together.

Hey Kavi and Jay, thought I would clarify the dates, which I agree are quite confusing !! I have actually made a flow chart for my own reference...lol. Aarav's paternity was revealed when he was almost three( I should have made that more clear in the 'There Is A Field' chapter. So yes, he did live only a few more months after that :( His birthday in Sept 2012 was his last...(3rd) and on the day of their airport meeting, he would have been 4 :( In SF land, we are still behind time...It's only Feb 2014. Arnav and Lavanya married in 2009. So they were together for 3 years before her 'lie' was revealed.

Next chapter will make their story clearer...much clearer :)

Jen, out of curiosity, how long does it take you to plan a story?

Also, I really do have to commend you on a fantastic job. It takes a lot of skill to weave a truly grey character, without villainizing them. I'm always very impressed by your characters, and this is no exception.

That being said- being a teen- I will also say that I too cannot bring myself to sympathize with Sujata.

Sujata needs to have faith in Khushi- she said herself that she was proud of the way she brought her up. She needs to believe that her upbringing had some effect. Until now, Khushi hasn't done anything to feed the belief that she's suddenly lost all of her morals. Khushi isn't the type of person to take things lightly- and Sujata needs to believe that. She knows who her daughter is, and it's a shame to see her not trust her daughter after 27 years.

That hurts, for a daughter or a son.

Granted, I don't know what I would do in that position- maybe I would react like her, maybe not. But at this point in time, I can't sympathize with her. I hope I didn't insult anyone- at my age, I can't see the other side because I haven't experienced it. This is just from my perspective.

oh God!! The tumultuous emotions raging khushi's heart were heart twisting to say the least!! The long gathered insecurities , the guilt which led to a dreadful dream thankfully were dissuaded by Arnav..
while i can comprehend Sujata aunty's agony of seeing her sanskaari beti off the track , i cant help but keep wondering all the time as to why o why do they become so irrational of these issues.. It becomes so tough for the child to even approach then! Fathers are quite approachable i feel. Atleast they will listen wot is being said.. Sigh!!
and Lavanya just had just made me snap off completely!! I dont understand her.. She is totally disillusioned! For all her excitement of Arnav remembering about muse , it apparently cud be something which he regrets doing it , till date! I know im being very insensitive about her but im sorry i cudnt just help it :( though i can understand her vulnerabilities to a certain extent ... Oh well!!

I can see where you're coming from:) Sujata's character will evolve as the story progresses...And yes, I agree, she does have a tendency to be judgemental without attempting to get the facts straight. Her hurt at Khushi's behavior is genuine too on the other hand. She is still in the process of coming to terms to it :)
To answer your question, my stories are about 50% planning and 50% 'write as you go'. I visualize the location, skeleton of the plot and characters before starting but after that I let my characters lead me most of the time:)
