Chapter 22: Is it possible?

Since it was Saturday, all of them got up late. However, Randhir never gave up on his routine. He got up and checked the time in his cell, that's when he realised he had not got a reply from Sanyukta. He realised that she must have slept but did not understand why she had not yet replied as he knew she gets up early.

Later after finishing his routine stuff in the morining, he again checked his cell. Still there was no message and it was about 9 now. He called her up thinking of various ways to scold her. After a number of rings she picked up.

Sanyu(sleepily): Hel (yawn) Hello?

Randhir was surprised at her voice. And he spoke "You are not yet up?"

Sanyu: Nahi!

Randhir(embarassed): Oh.. am sorry for disturbing you.

Sanyu: Hmm. I also slept off last night. Waise time kya hai?

Randhir: Hmmm.. 9.

Sanyu(screamed): Kya?

Randhir: Arey chilla kyun rahi ho?

Sanyu: I got class!!!!

Randhir: Class?

Sanyu: ya!!! I will talk to you later!

Randhir: Par what class?

Sanyu: I teach! So my students .. they are waiting!

Randhir: Oh where?

Sanyu: O&S NGO. Chalo bye am already late, the class is at 10.

Randhir: Bye!

Randhir was amazed as to what all this girl does - Auditor, Dance, Interior Designing, Sing.

Randhir: Pata nahi aur kya kya karti hai! Lekin what would she teach? Jaaon kya? Waise bhi am bored. Lets see what she does!

Soon he got ready and left. While leaving, he stuck a note on the table for Jiggy and Dhwani stating he's going out! He didn't wanna take the company car, so he took the metro and reached the place. Slowly he started walking inside the NGO. He was impressed with the way the whole NGO was. It was spread over 2.5 acres and it had about 15 houses of 4500 sq ft each. In the remaining space, there was a small playground, a small swimming pool and the remaining area was filled with grass. He saw people of various ages at the place - right from small babies to old people.

He walked further into the premises that's when he spotted Vardhan and Niharika coming out of one house along with Kajal and Vikrant. He walked up to them and said "Good morning Bhaiya, Bhabhi!"

Vardhan: Arey Randhir! Tum? Yaha kaise?

Randhir: Why I should not come?

Niharika: Not at all? You are welcome any day? Tho how is the place?

Randhir: Bhabhi its just awesome! I love it here.

Vardhan: Come let me show you around. Vikrant kajal why don't you go play along with mamma and other kids?

Soon the kids along with Niharika went to the playground where there were other kids happily playing, while Vardhan and Randhir went to tour the place.

Vardhan: So whats the next plan? Started working?

Randhir: Haan. Just a little. But we are almost done with the plan.

Vardhan: Good.. its good..

Suddenly they heard the sound of anklets and a voice which went "tha thai thai tha"

Vardhan and Randhir realized it was Sanyukta's voice and so they went to the house from where the sounds came and reached an area which was covered with grass and had a big tree giving shade to the girls who were clad in salwar kameez and the duppata tied around their waist or it was crossed and tied at the hip.

All of them moved along with the tune she was voicing. She was checking if all her students were dancing and found that one or two were fumbling. Instantly she moved there from the centre and helped them with the steps.

Randhir was completely lost in her dance from the beginning. He thought how a person be so graceful. She was clad in the traditional dance attire which was in the form of a saree, yet had pyjamas covering her legs. Her hair was plaited so that nothing disturber her while teaching or dancing.

Later she called out to 5 girls, who were within 13-15. They all gathered around her and she informed them something, to which all got excited and took their positions, while the other children backed a little and seated themselves. Sanyukta took the lead and stood before the others at the centre and asked one girl to start the music.

Bho shambho shiva shambho svayambho bho shambho shiva shambho svayambho

(Sanyukta was sitting in the middle, back erect, eyes closed, with her left palm starched out in front of her chest and right hand was in "all the best" sign to form shiv ling. Three girls stood behind her with their right hand on their hips and left hand held the right hand. The other two girl sat beside sanyukta and were offering her flowers.)

(The three girls standing behind, moved to their left, removing their hands from the hip and made, sat down and came up making the nataraj pose)

shiva shambho svayambho (Sanyukta opened her eyes and stood up)

gangadhara shankara karunakara (All of them took their left hand above their head, palm facing to the right and with the left hand they made motion of water flowing from the head - as though ganges is flowing from Lord' Shiva's head)

mamava bhavasagara taraka (All stretched out their hands an made an action of arising from below - indicating oh godd save me from this ocean of sorrow)

bho shambho shiva shambho svayambho

Sanyukta along with the three girls danced now describing the Lord
nirguna parabrahma svarupa (they indicate with their hands that the supreme Lord does not have any form or any quality)
gamagama bhootha prapancha rahita (they show that without all this they are on top of the universe)
nija guha nihita nitanta ananta (they show that without all these he's then eternal bliss - they in the same position with their arms strtched out above and their left leg was a little bent and right leg was a little above the ground with their foot pointing downward) ananda atishaya aksayalinga (they change their positions, and do the actions of being happy, astonished and back to the form of shiva linga)

nija guha nihita nitanta ananta ananda atishaya aksayalinga (all six of them now do the same steps)

bho shambho shiva shambho svayambho (again do the nataraja step and finish)

Randhir was awestruck seeing the performance. Niharika had come there by now and saw Randhir frozen at his place and a smile was plastered on his face. She nudged Vardhan and he smiled looking at this. Vardhan cleared his throat to which he snapped back from his gawking session. He was embarassed and looked here and there.

Vardhan: She dances well na?

Randhir: Enthralling. She had me captivated.

Niharika: That she can do to anyone. Parth ko bhi..

Vardhan: Ab kya Parth.. Chodo. Chalo lets meet her and leave soon

They all walked towards Sanyukta and her group. However, Randhir was wondering as to what Parth had to do with this. But he brushed it away and stood beside Vardhan.

Vardhan: Oi Sanyu!

Sanyu: Hey jij! Di! Randhir?

Randhir: Hi!!

Niharika: Sanyu. Now what programme?

Sanyu: Arey Di. You forgot kya? O&S Industries ki family day aa raha hai! SO we are getting ready for that!

Vardhan: For that we have about a month na.

Sanyu: Haan jij! But its only 4 weekends I have. So that way time is short. But am sure these girls will make me proud.

Niharika: Great! Intro act tho yeh log hi karenge.

Sanyu: Aur nahi tho kya!

Vardhan: Hmmm.. kyun na kuch alag kare this time! I mean apart from dance music and games and all.

N,S,R: Matlab?

Vardhan: Randhir you are an actor na. Why don't we have a play? With all these kids? It will be fun!

Randhir: Sure! I will do it!

Vardhan: Awesome! Waise Monday we have a meeting so don't be late! Chal Niha. Lets leave. Bye guys.

S,R: Bye

Vardhan and Niharika leave along with their children leaving behind Randhir, Sanyukta and the excited kids.

Kid 1: Bhaiya you are a hero?

Randhir: Woh films mein. But in real life you are. (he picked up the kid)

Kid 1: So you will teach us acting?

Randhir: Of course! Kab start kare?

Kid 2: Now only. Hamare dance class tho khatam! I will go call the others too. We will start right away!

Randhir: Acha? Eat something and then lets start ok? In about an hour?

All kids: Yay!!!!!!

They all started running towards their respective houses to freshen up and get back to their next session of acting.

Sanyu: Hey am sorry I was in a hurry this morning. I can do anything but never miss to take classes for these kids.

Randhir: Hey. Its ok. I now understand how it feels to be around them. I feel so energised with a lot of positive vibes.

Sanyu: Of course! I came here a lot when I get sad or depressed. And these kids within a few moments make us forget our reasons of being sad and make us feel good.

Randhir: Hmmm.

Sanyu: you saw the entire place?

Randhir: Not fully, but bhaiya took me around.

Sanyu: Nice. Chalo am going to the admin for a while to check the accounts, wanna join?

Randhir: Sure!

Soon they walked to a small room where an old man was sitting with glasses in front of a big book.

Sanyu: Arey Kaka! Am here. Give I will finish it for you.

Kaka: I've done beta. Just go through once. I have a difference of Rs 20,000. Aur who are you? (pointing towards Randhir)

Randhir: Namaste kaka. Mein woh..woh

Sanyu: Kaka he's jij's bhai!

Kaka: Acha! Vardhan ke bhai ho? Tum tho mumbai mei the na. when you came

Sanyu: Arey he's not yoyo! He's Randhir Singh Shekawat! Waise bhi Yoyo tho di ki cousin hain!

Kaka: Kaun randhir?

Randhir: Mein boloon? Kaka my dad was Bhaiya's dad's student. So they know them very well.Aur mein Switzerland mein rehta hoon. Ek kaam ke liye aya hoon yahan.

Kaka: Acha! Tum ho woh ladka!! Good good.. How is Rotlu?

Randhir: Rotlu kaun?

Kaka: your dad! Saaheb tho aise hi bhulate hain!

Randhir: Kyun?

Kaka: Apne dad se pucho!

Randhir: Aap dad ko jaante ho?

Kaka: Haan haan! I know the entire family. Acha ab batein kam aur Sanyu tum kam karna, kya hamare talks sun rahe ho.. Jaldi jaldi!

Sanyu: Awww!! Ho gaya kaka! You had made one mistake. Payment ko recipt mein dal diya.

Kaka: Oh! I've improved na now?

Sanyu: Of course kaka! Ab hum chalte hain! You take care of yourself.

Randhir: Bye kaka!

Kaka: Bye beta!

As soon as they came out, they were greeted by a number of children all eagerly waiting for Randhir to teach them. They all gathered around the big tree. Sanyukta also sat with the kids and was seeing what he was doing. Soon he started acting - he displayed various emotions such as being happy, sad, excited and all. The children loved it! After sometime all dispersed and SanDhir also left the place.

In Sanyu's car

Randhir: You drove and came?

Sanyu: Haan! All are still sleeping.

Randhir: What? So late? Its about 12 and you didn't have breakfast?

Sanyu: Hmmm I had cornflakes. You?

Randhir: nothing!

Sanyu: Why? And you never felt hungry?

Randhir: Nope. When I saw all these kids I felt so good. I forgot everything.

Sanyu: See I told you. So how did you land up here?

Randhir: Oh you said you were gonna teach something and I was curious to know who those unlucky students were and what they learnt.

Sanyu: And? What's your conslusion?

Randhir: That the teacher is brilliant and the students are blessed!

Sanyu: Thank you. Waise you are not a bad actor.

Randhir: Acha?

Sanyu: Haan! Whats the secret behind acting?

Randhir: Secret nahi hai. Bas ek formula hai! A friend of mine used to tell when we were young. "Jo bhi act karna ho, just get the feel of it. Character pe uthro."

Sanyukta stopped the car abruptly on the road leaving Randhir confused.

Randhir: Kya hua?
