A Harry potter ff- this is the stuff dreams are made of! Thank you so much for writing this. And please update frequently. I have been racking my brains about who the dada teacher and deputy headmaster could be...:)

Oh how could you stop here. This hooded mam has taken tom with him. Hope that tom will be safe because it seems that the hooded man needs him.

CHAPTER 9

CHANGE OF TONES

The hooded man apparated right outside the gates of Hogwarts grounds.

"Enervate!" He revived Tom and before he had properly come to imperiused him. "Imperio!" Tom who wanted to fight back a moment ago suddenly felt the weight of all worries leaving him. "Undo your protection." The hooded man ordered him and he did it.

The hooded man disillusioned himself and Tom and entered the gates of Hogwarts. He walked a few steps then flew into the Forbidden Forest. He removed his and Tom's disillusionment charm as he landed in a clearing in the Forest.

Tom who had realized that he had made a grave mistake the moment he had removed his protection around the Castle was coming back to his senses. He was breaking through the imperius curse faster than the hooded man had expected.

Within moments Tom had broken through the haze that had filled his mind and stood looking at the hooded man. He reached into his back pocket for his wand but to his dismay discovered that it was gone.

The hooded man mocked him with his laughter pulling his wand out of his robes.

Tom looked around. They were inside Hogwarts grounds, in the Forbidden Forest.

"Surprised?" The hooded man asked him mockingly.

Tom wanted to kill him but he knew he could never. "Devastated. How could you? You knew what they meant to me. Neville, Hannah, Mayweather...they were innocent, they had nothing to do with us."

"If you are expecting me to provide you with an explanation, you are mistaken. All you need to understand is that Mayweather had discovered too much and the Longbottoms were in league with Harry Potter who, by the way, has found a way to penetrate my powers. Care to share how that came to be?"

Tom smiled sarcastically. "Afraid, are you?"

"Sectumsempra!" The hooded man had performed the curse even before Tom had realized he was going to. He fell as blood poured out of him. Long, deep gashes had slashed his torso.

The hooded man bent over him. "Not quite. But I am curious. I shall find out myself." He threw Tom's wand beside him. "Stop me if you can."

"No..." Tom's blurring vision only allowed him to witness the hooded man leaving the clearing.

Harry entered the Great Hall completely absent mindedly and didn't realize where he was until he saw Duds shook him to present.

"Harry, have you seen Tom?" Duds asked.

Harry thought over it a moment. "No." He answered.

Duds nodded and left the Great Hall apparently going to Tom's room to see if he was there.

Ron, Hermione and Ginny entered moments later. None of the four of them had any interest left in the Feast anymore but they couldn't leave. The Feast was in Harry's honor. He couldn't leave.

Duds went to Tom's room. The door was shut close. He turned the lock to enter but realized that it was locked. He knocked a couple of times but no one answered him. Tom never kept his room locked. He waited for a few minutes then returned to the Feast.

Finally, at midnight the Feast ended and Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny shut themselves inside Harry's office.

"I think we should try to find him, Harry." Ginny said the moment she had closed the door.

"Where do we look for him?" Ron spoke up sounding the thought that had come to him first.

"Look for who?" Dumbledore suddenly asked from the portrait.

"Tom." Harry answered and launched into an explanation of everything that had happened.

Dumbledore, like them, was quite shocked. But what he told them shocked them. "Tom was back in his room. He only just left. That's what I came back to tell you."

"That's impossible!" Hermione exclaimed. "We saw that man stun him. Was he alright?"

Dumbledore was thoughtful for a moment. "He was fine but his behavior was rather strange. When he entered I asked him why he had returned so early but he simply ignored me. Also, he had adorned a black cloak. I had no idea that he had ever even owned one. Well, if you can count that as alright, then perhaps, he was."

"Tom doesn't have a black cloak." Harry wondered aloud.

"Harry, what if it's not Tom. What if it's an imposter? We saw the hooded man stun Tom, perhaps, he has impersonated him and entered the Castle in his place." Ron suggested.

"Perhaps, you are right." Before Harry could Dumbledore answered. "Tom has never once ignored me. And he doesn't have a black cloak and as you have said, the hooded man had adorned a black cloak. Perhaps, an imposter has invaded Hogwarts."

"We must find him." Ginny suddenly spoke up.

"There's no time, Ginny. Wherever Tom is, he can wait--_"

"Not him, Harry. The imposter! He tried to kill you. We need to find him and find out who he is."

can't wait to read more - you should know i finished the last (7th) book by reading non-stop for 12 hours the day it was released. you're really good at giving updates but i now realize that i'm going to have to be patient...😕😃

Thank you so much!!! 😃 You have no idea how good it feels to know that someone is just waiting to read more of what you've created 😃 And I am sorry you have to wait a lot for updates 😛 HP books always kept us so hooked on one couldn't stop reading. I had finished the Fifth book exactly the same way once I'd got my hands on it 😊 Perhaps, someday my writing will be as irresistible as that😛😃

Since harry has disarmed the hooded man. The loyalty of his wand will lie with harry. Is this 2 hat they prophecy hinted toward. How could all four of them lose tom.

First, I want to remove your confusion about the Prophecy. It was made to Tom. It has to be related to him. And these parts have nothing to do with the Prophecy so far. When those parts will cum you'll know for sure that it concerns this prophecy.

I didn't want to stop here😛😊😃 I just hadn't written the next part yet, so it took some time. Please bear with me on one of those occasions when the part takes longer to write bcoz sumtyms I make changes as I go along. 😛😃😃 I have posted another one, Chk it out. 😃

Very interesting. The tension is growing every minute. The hooded man has made his way into hogwarts. Harry and others need to be on alert.
