Anshula Kapoor pays an emotional tribute to late mother post her engagement: 'You were there in spirit'

Anshula Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor's sister, got engaged with her boyfriend Rohan Thakkar in an intimate engagement ceremony on October 2. The Kapoor family gathered to celebrate the special occasion, with Anshula honoring her late mother Mona Shourie Kapoor's memory throughout the event. She reserved a seat for her mother, adorned with a framed photo, and shared heartfelt moments with her family, including Arjun, Janhvi, and Khushi Kapoor. Anshula expressed her feelings in a post, saying she felt her mother's love and presence everywhere, describing it as "quietly wrapping itself around us".

Anshula’s heartfelt post

Anshula shared a heartfelt tribute to her late mother on Sunday. The post featured a video compilation of special moments from her engagement with Rohan Thakkar. Anshula said, "Since the day Rohan has proposed though Ma, missing you has felt like a fresh wound. So today, I needed to keep you close. The day itself was a blend of us."

Anshula expressed how every detail of the engagement was a reflection of her late mother's memories. "Dear Ma, You were right - fairytales can be real The Gordhana was everything Ro and I dreamt of - pieces of us, and pieces of you, woven into every detail. From the rajnigandha you loved, to the wall of family photos, the old rom-coms we used to watch together, the hand written letters Ro has written to me over the years, and all our favourite nostalgic sweet treats.. it felt like we were walking through our own memory lane," she wrote.

She further added, "Love was everywhere that night, Ma - in the laughter, in the chaos, in the hugs that felt like home. You were there in spirit, in scent, in every corner that felt safe. Forever my calm, forever my Ma."

For her engagement, Anshula wore a stunning purple lehenga. She shared that her mother's words, "Rab raakha," were stitched onto the outfit. "She always said, "Rab raakha." So I've carried it with me into this new chapter - stitched gently on my back, tucked safely in my heart. A reminder that she's still here, still watching, still my forever protector. My Maa Thank you @arpita_mehta for making sure these weren't just words on fabric, but feelings woven into every thread. A promise. A prayer. A piece of her with me."

Anshula's siblings, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and their father Boney Kapoor, were seen enjoying her engagement. Other pictures also featured Anshula's cousins, including Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, and Jahaan. Anshula and Rohan met on a dating app in 2022, and Rohan proposed to Anshula in Central Park, New York, in July of this year.
