In canteen

Randhir was passing by, when Sanyukta saw him. She went to him.

Sanyukta- Have you eaten food?

Randhir gave him a confused look as to what she was speaking.

Sanyukta- What? You seem so pale that's why I was asking. Why didn't you came to college?

Randhir rolled his eyes off, muttering a "None of your business" quite audible to her.

Sanyukta- Of course its my business, you are a member of dream team, and you can't back out like this.

Randhir gritted his teeth in anger.

Randhir- I didn't back out, did you get that?

Sanyukta- Ok, so why didn't you came, you know that so many projects are incomplete, plus we have to arrange farewell for 4^th year and it's today only.

Randhir- Listen, you don't have to tell me that Sanyukta. I will complete all the projects today itself, I knew you all are so inefficient that you can't do that. And for your kind information, I came to FITE for doing engineering and not to arrange some silly farewell for seniors.

He stormed off from there. Sanyukta smiled at herself. "Randhir, its so easy to bring you back to yourself, a little bit of taunt and my Randhir is back", she thought to herself.

The whole day they didn't met each other. Randhir was busy in lab and Sanyukta was busy with farewell arrangements.

Evening, Farewell Party

The hall was nicely decorated with blue and white balloons and the theme was oceanic. There was DJ and music system available. The food arrangements were nicely made. And in the middle of the stage it was written, "Adieu 4^th year, we gonna miss you". Sanyukta was taking care of the food arrangements. Everyone was busy checking her out. She was looking damn pretty in that knee length sea green dress with floral prints. She kept her hair open and was wearing a silver bracelet and those wedges were complementing her more. She didn't bothered who was looking at her, because she was busy waiting for the guy for whom she took so much pain to get ready. "Randhir, where are you". She thought. Restlessness would be seen in her face. Suddenly all girls started murmuring. She saw in that direction and her jaw dropped in shock. There he was standing; casually attired in black jeans, blue T-shirt and a brown leather jacket. She couldn't stop herself from checking him out. His spiky hairs were neatly combed, they were lustrous, and she felt like moving her hand on them. He had a rough and tanned skin with creamy complexion. His eyes were so deep and dark, they seem sorrowful but at the same time piercing and compassionate. The new beard growth in his stubble was giving him intense look. And his pursued lips with that signature smirk can make any girl go weak in her knees. She was totally lost in him, she came to her senses when Kaustuki called her for the 4^th time. She moved her gaze from him. She wondered from when she started noticing him with so much detail. Suddenly she noticed that her cheeks have gone red with a burning sensation. She laughed at herself as how badly she had fallen for that MCP. Then she remembered her plan and went from there.

Randhir went to the drinks corner, ordered a coke and was sitting quietly and sipping his coke. He had noticed Sanyukta but had moved his gaze from her immediately. She was looking "Epitome of beauty", and one thing came to his mind if had not moved his eyes from her, he will fall for her again. After a few moments, a waiter came and gave him a chit and went away, before he would ask anything. He read the chit, it was written, "Please come near basketball ground in 5 minutes"

He was confused than he thought of going as the party was hell boring. He went there, but it was dark, he saw someone standing there but wasn't able to identify. He went nearer and was dumbfounded to see his mom, Renuka Sanyal

Renuka- Beta, how are you?

Randhir- What are you doing here?

Renuka- I came to meet you

Randhir- Oh really! But I don't want to meet you. Just go away from here. Leave me alone.

And he started going from there but stopped listening to her mother's sobbing.

Renuka-Beta, please give me once chance; I want to undo my mistake. I have done a big blunder, but I always loved you. Don't leave your mother like this, I am all broken and can't leave without you.

She broke down near him After knowing it was his father who was the biggest culprit, all he wanted to do was hug his mother tightly, but his ego was not letting him do that. He clenched his fist and closed his eyes in frustration and then recalled how last year Sanyukta was ready to leave her dream for her family, how she let go of her ego and asked help from him for her dad's project, and those words that he said once, "when you forgive, you in no way change the past, but you sure do change the future".

And the next moment, he was wiping his mother's tears.

Randhir- Mom, I am sorry, I have hurt you so much.

Renuka was astonished as after 12 years, her son called her mom. She was overjoyed.

Renuka- No beta, it was me who have hurted you so much.

Randhir- But I should have tried to understand you.

Renuka smiled at his words.

Renuka- You were just of 8 years!

Randhir- But I did grow up, I should have tried once to know your situation.

Renuka- It was your dad who took you against me.

Randhir- I know Mom, thats what hurt even more.

Renuka- Lets forget what happened in past, we need to start afresh.

Randhir- Yes, no more regrets regarding the past anymore. I love you mom.

And he hugged her. And for so long he kept laying on her lap. A mother's love is instinctual, unconditional and forever and he had found that love for himself today. Randhir could surely believe now that a mother's lap is made of tenderness. They were separated for 12 years, but they didn't need words to convey the pain and hollowness, they were going through till that time.

He understood today, all these time when he was trying to mend his heart, he is just neede to let go of his ego and the loved ones would have mend it for him. Truly it was said, "Its one of the greatest gift you can give yourself, to forgive"

Suddenly something popped in his mind and he asked.

Randhir- Mom, how did you came to know about my condition?

Renuka- Sanyukta told me.

And his expressions changed in hearing that name.
